Thanks for the awesome review! Been thinking about pulling the trigger on one of the refresh and your spec is definitely the closest to what I'm considering. Did you think the beige interior, massage seats and the insulated glass were all worth it? Would you spec it again? Also if you had the choice between this and the 4S, which would you go for today? Appreciate the super detailed video!
Thanks for the feedback! The massage seats and insulated glass were absolutely worth it to me. No downsides to the massaging seats but there is a slight downside to the insulated glass in that placements for transponder type devices are limited to a very small area near the mirror. My office parking garage transponder is too big for that spot so I just always had to roll my windows down and hang my transponder out of the window when I approached the garage. But the upside in getting additional noise insulation and weather insulation was worth it to me. If I had the choice all over again, I would have spec'd up to the 4S - the extra power would have been worth it to me.
This is an excellent video. Very informative especially from your two year’s perspective. Also very useful in terms of helping future owners decide whether this option or that one is useful, needed, or not necessary, etc. Thank you. SUBSCRIBED as a result.
Thank you for this video, been looking for an in depth review from someone who owns a tesla and a taycan. Been cross shopping a used taycan 4s and model S LR as they are both reaching similar price points. Will eventually pick one as prices flatten out, but this video is very helpful in making my pros and cons list, thank you!
Thanks for the in-depth review. I have a Tesla model 3 , but on the fence whether I should upgrade to a Taycan. After your honest review I think I’d be more frustrated with the Porsche because of all the things that just work with Tesla: superchargers, autopilot, navigation, and trunk space.
I agree. The Taycan is an awesome vehicle but the overall user experience just isn't as good as Tesla and you'd definitely feel the small frustrations here and there. Let's hope the next 2-3 years will see big improvements from other EV manufactures and in charging infrastructure!
Great video, wanted one to replace my daily but the dealer wanted a 40k adjustment (WA state). This video is informative enough for me to consider later down the line for a preowned one since the 2nd hand market for Taycans and EVs in general are tanking.
Thank you, I'm glad you found it useful! It's a great vehicle but absolutely not worth $40K adjustment. You are definitely doing the smart thing by going the preowned route given the depreciation.
Absolutely fantastic in depth review - nice one! I will pick up my 4S in a couple of weeks and wondered what your phone charger was that you installed, as it looks a better solution than overheating under the arm rest!
Thanks! I’m glad it was helpful! The phone mount/charger I have is from Proclip USA and I’ve also had it for two years now. It’s been great and was designed to fit perfectly. I’ve been very happy with it.
Much appreciated review - current prices have lowered for used vehicles. If a buyer can stomach not having the exact spec they want to the every little detail you can get a great deal on them.
@@ivanronin8209Not every vehicle is made for every use case, this one was clearly made for the German Autobahn, rip at 200+ km/h, stop every hour and a half, charge insanely fast for 10 minutes, continue... Canada has similar requirements for vehicles such as Norway (huge distances between cities, cold during winter), but is way behind on the charging infrastructure, so EVs are not yet quite as optimal as ICE cars over there. My country would be perfect for EVs( mild climate, small distances, dirt cheap electricity, very little highway driving...) but the charging network lets it down. Still, I can get to every corner of it and back on a single charge with a SR Model 3.
Great video! Love that you have this and a Tesla to do a true cross comparison in living with both. Curious if you ever ran rear facing car seats for the kiddos in the back and if they fit well?
As someone who’s looking to get a family EV (family of 4), this is exactly the kind of video I wanted to see, especially knowing you can get this vehicle in the $80K range now (same price as the new Macan 4). Curious, have you gotten in collision/minor fender bender with this vehicle? If so, I’m curious if the cost was more than most ICE vehicles. I backed out of my Rivian R1S deposit when I was eligible to config my car when I saw reports on how costly it was just to repair a minor dent.
Yep I did have an encounter with tire carcass (bouncing across the freeway) that required lower bumper replacement. The replacement and labor costs were actually comparable value ICE Porsche....the main difference was the long wait time for replacement parts in the early 2022 era (post-Covid and post-Ukraine war parts shortages). Thanks for watching!
The climate screen was broken from the initial delivery of the vehicle. It was completely unresponsive to touch no matter how hard you pressed it and no matter where you pressed it. Porsche service department ended up saying that it was just a bad screen. Once the screen was replaced, it's worked perfectly. Only problem was it took about 12 months from the time of my initial delivery to when I was able to get a replacement screen from Porsche (due to supply chain issues).
Just wish they could copy Kia. I love my 2020 eniro +4 trim. All the bells and whistles mines heat pump, big downer there. But as far as driver assist, Apple android car play, I peddle driving, they're the best. I5N has to be awesome. Porsche get some tips fton Hyundai
thanks for posting this... I think that the CT4 is the best-looking car one can buy today; yeah, it's subjective, but that's my feeling, and I've owned three ICE Porsches. I've not yet bought a BEV, but the CT4 and the Macan 4 are my finalists to choose from right now; no other automaker makes a BEV that I'm remotely interested in. So I greatly appreciated your depth in this video for your CT4 and hearing your experiences of ownership over two full years. I'm curious about the roof glass -- like should I order the electrochromic glass (which was not available in 2021 when you bought yours) or not? Do you ever feel that the interior gets too hot or gets too much solar glare without a way to close off the roof glass?
Very informative! Wasn’t expecting such good content! For the HUD, do you notice the reflections all the time or only at certain angles during the day. How is it at night? Is this different than any other HUD (cayenne, RR, Benz)?
The HUD itself is very nice - I had it in a 2018 RR and the Taycan HUD is much sharper and over a better interface. It's bright too, so no visibility issue in daytime or nighttime (not too bright at night). The reflection isn't bad, your eyes don't naturally focus in on the reflection when you're actually driving. Glad you found the video informative!
Not much. The My Porsche mobile app generally gets more than one update a month, but these updates seem to have been focused on stability and improvements in speed/responsiveness. From a user perspective, I've noticed improvements in those areas, but it's been very incremental. Feature-wise not much has changed or been added at all.
@@Professor.Y Thanks for the response! I’m really thrilled about trading my Model 3 Performance in for a Taycan, but I’m worried that for example the mobile app would annoy a lot, since Tesla mobile app works decently well
@@miikahietanen That's the tradeoff sadly! With the Taycan you are getting improvements in overall driving performance, build quality, materials, craftsmanship, and exclusivity. But you are giving up Tesla's industry-best mobile app and in-car infotainment and the connectivity between car and app (none of those are perfect, but it's significantly better than Taycan at this point).
Awesome review! The wheel color + paint combo works so well!
Thank you - I agree! I was slightly skeptical at first but seeing it in person, it does look great!
Thanks for Cleaning it for the review

So after they replaced your climate screen do you like it now that it works or does the new one suck as much as the old one ?

Did you put a ppf or ceramic coating on the car? It looks so shiny after 2 years
Ah good question. No PPF but I did have a ceramic coating put on after I took delivery, and it held up really great over two years!
Thank you for the wonderful video full of information. I will sell GLC 220 and buy Taycan CT this week.

Nice car and nice review!
Wow this is maybe the first HDR video I see on TH-cam
Nice car. You have the rubber mats in the back on the wrong side. Need to switch the left to the right and so on.
Thanks for the tip. I didn't know that and will go check it out. We learn something new every day!
That car is gorgeousness!! Not a fan of the baby blue. But everything else would be a dream for me ❤
Thank you! I wasn't a fan of the blue in pictures and videos previously, but it looked way better in person.
Thanks. Great video.
Awesome video! Whats that phone charger setup called please?
The phone charger I have in the Taycan is made by Proclip USA. I've had that charger for 2 years now and still going strong!

Great video. Noticed that this car is listed for sale at Porsche Irvine. What did you replace it with?
Looking to reserve Taycan Turbo GT once order opens!
Beautiful car. The improvements Porsche has made for the'24 is amazing, get better at soft programs, so far Koreans have everyone beat
