Every time that commercial would come out on TV, we would stop whatever we were doing to watch it. I always thought it was protesting the Vietnam war.

I was a kid when it came out in 1971 and everyone was singing it. Whe the full song was released it was even better.

It was the New Seekers and the Hillside Singers. The New Seekers went top 10 and Gold on Elektra. The Hillside Singers went to #13 on Metromedia.

The New Seekers. Not The Seekers. The New Seekers were a talented bunch in their own right, formed by real Seeker Keith Potger (although he did not perform with them) after the Seekers broke up. Keith said he hoped they’d be kind of a place holder for the brand in the hopes someday THE Seekers would reunite. Which they finally did in 1993 and performed for the next 25 or so years.

don't you think this is kinda commentary on royalties, residuals and content ownership....seems like the more things change the more they stay the same ( I know you heard that before).....maybe with everyone carrying a camera and a microphone the premise for many things are now usurped even earlier.....I dunno, I never read the whole agreement before signing up here...but that brings up the fact that what is supposed to make our lives so much simpler...also means we should be a computer tech and be well versed in contract law... Anyway how can you not love a good jingle...or a jingle dancer....🙃

For whatever reason I looked up the name Pepsi and discovered it got its name because it helped relieve dyspepsia. Great trivia no? It wasn’t Pepsi found at the White House it was coke.
