I was playing with matchboxes on the floor in the other room because the rest of the family was watching tv. and the first version I heard was the hilltop version. Despite being about Coke, which I loved at the time, I was just mesmerized by the beauty of the girl singing it, the way it sounded, the way everyone slowly joined, and the lyrics even at 9 were so comforting and caring. I hadn't heard the song in years then found it on the internet. I listened to it over and over. I make a point to play it every Christmas, and now at 60, It takes me back to my family of whom now 3 are gone on, and a better time in life and times. Thank you!!!!

One of the best commercials in history is the 1971 Hilltop Coke commercial that was shot on an Italian hilltop. This commercial had young people of all races, religions, creeds, colors, and nationalities singing the seekers tune of "I'd like to teach the world to sing/I'd like to buy the world a Coke". Even though Christmas is the celebration of Christ, you can't really have a Christmas party without Coke. I make sure for Christmas parties we have an over abundance of Coca Cola. And it's all because of this great commercial. I understand that when this commercial was made in 1971, the then president of Coke didn't care for it, and didn't want to have it shown. But this man was an extremely wise man. He figured the advertising people knew their business, and he allowed this fine, outstanding commercial to air. I only wish that Coca Cola would show that Hilltop commercial every year for the Christmas/New Year times. That commercial represents us, and brings much happiness and joy. It should air on tv and radio every year at Christmas. The second best commercial is the "Mama Mia, that's some spicy meat ball" commercial by Alka Seltzer. I heard that some misguided people had it stopped, because they wrongfully thought it was making fun of the Italian people. Well, I and my family are 100% Italian American, and that commercial made us proud. We still think it's one of the funniest commercials ever made, and Alka Seltzer should put it back on the air.

Please consider arranging groups singing from their own countries, in their own languages. Make it global. Keep the music/song very similar to original, with reminiscent sounds.

Hello everybody. I'd sent Coca-Cola an email about their great commercial about the Hilltop singers in 1971. I asked them to have a 50th year anniversary of that great commercial and jingle and song. They told me that they are not allowed to accept any ideals about their ads. They told me that they run that commercial every so often and that they might have something coming up in the near future but they can't speculate when. Besides the 1971 and 1990 commercials, they have done some Christmas commercial s with that great song. I know that they can't accept my suggestion about doing their 50th year old anniversary for the 4th of July holiday. To celebrate our country's independence day while watching and listening to this great commercial and song and eating great food and drinking a nice cold can of Coke. They should play this commercial for all the major holidays and have them dressed appropriately for each holiday. The world needs lots of LOVE.
