I appreciate the expertise, the obvious joy of creation, and the passion of the subject matter I observe. I'm a huge fan of Jonathan! The actor playing the role of Jesus. Omg he's awesomeness!!! That loving softness, sweetness in his voice, the tenderness and gentleness with which he talks, walks, moves, smiles, his body language... All spot on... just like Jesus... He's awesome and amazing 👍 👍 👍

Great discussion. The most intense moment for me and most likely for many others is the moment Jesus calls Mary by her name outside of the tavern. Mary’s line to Nicodemus is really the declaration of Christianity!
I appreciate your basic explanation of the planning process for The Chosen. I hope you will eventually add other women to the disciples for Mary to interact with.
@Dallas Jenkins that scripture verse perfectly captures what The Chosen is about and the reveals you do in the directing of this episode as it relates to that verse are just amazing.
The leprosy scene drives me to tears within the first 10 seconds. "I am willing"..
My first favorite line is "THUS SAITH THE LORD WHO CREATED YOU AND HE WHO FORMED YOU, FEAR NOT..I HAVE REDEEMED YOU. I HAVE CALLED YOU BY NAME. YOU..ARE MINE." FROM Isaiah 43:1
@Dallas Jenkins It was the most powerful scene to me on episode 1. It just ministered to me beyond measure. Thank all of you for Glorifying The LORD with this important work. You, with the help of The ALMIGHTY, will reach many. I believe you all have come together for such a time as this. The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Praying you all forward. I think I have Fav Lines in all 8 episodes - but the one that sticks out to me is Nicodemus kneeling before Jesus quoting Psalm 2:12a, and then Jesus reaches down and stands him up quoting the last part of that verse! I am not sure that Erick as Nico was supposed to cry there - but it fit and was really a blessing to see scripture 'come alive.' Blessings!
I get emotional every time I see it. Not just that it works in the context of the film, but the words themselves.

As a mother and elementary teacher, I love the scenes where Jesus interacts with children. I pictured a scene where a little girl asks Jesus if he is married. He responds, "No. I am not married. BUT my Father has chosen a bride for me." The girl asks, What does she look like? and Jesus smiles tenderly, gently wipes a smudge from the child's cheek and adjusts her wrinkled garment and says, "Like you, minus a few spots and wrinkles. Beautiful." Love the Chosen! Can't wait for season 2. Be Blessed!

Loved the scene between Eden and Jesus where he acknowledges her part in the kingdom work He is doing. I always wondered about her and what she thought about her husband going away from his profession to follow Jesus. Didn't she matter? As a woman, I so identified with her. When Jesus steps up to her and looks into her eyes and tells her that He sees her, and that He knows the sacrifices she is making along with her husband, and how important she is to Him, as well as Simon, I was weeping. I felt seen, and heard by my Savior at that moment, and I thank you! Would love to hear more about that scene and how it came about, the writing, the background, everything. Thank you all for what you are doing here. This series is a holy thing, set apart for God's purposes. I'm enthralled. Can't wait for season 2.
"Not just another Jesus film". . . I was moved to tears in every episode. Inconceivable! I usually critique how much I don't like 'Christian' movies. Not so with this series. I'm telling everyone to see this! - I Thank God, Dallas & the whole team behind the project.
My heart is swelling with Joy and Hope that young people like you are in this World. The future is full of possibilities, good possibilities.

Such an excellent evangelical tool for all the world to see. It is so loving, heart-warming, funny at times (I LOVE that you showed Jesus' humor in different episodes) heart wrenching (Nicodemus and Christ meeting in the house, and Christ extending his offer to Nicodemus). It was just beautiful writing and PERFECT casting. Keep the bar in season 2 where it was in season 1. You have such a thing of beauty here. I can't see how the Lord wouldn't use this as an instrument of bringing non-believers unto himself. I'm just so impressed by this creation.
Now I'm really intrigued about season 2! I'm excited about seeing the miracles portrayed, of course. But family dramas have generally been my favorite genre for TV because I love intricately drawn characters and dynamic relationships. "The Chosen" is already doing so well on both fronts that the idea of delving deeper into how these characters relate makes me happy! Here's hoping official news of season 2 comes soon! In the meantime, so excited for the rest of season 1!

Can you guys imagine how wrecking watching the Passion is gonna be now that we've gotten to see so much of this characters and fall in love with them? I'm gonna be crying for hours
I can’t even imagine the sorrow of the fans it would’ve been interesting if they started with the crucifixtion and everything that happened before be a flashback and the end would be the characters reflecting on what happened a the aftermath
The Shepherd was a real tear jerker. After that, I knew I had to watch the whole Chosen series.
I watched "The Two Thieves". It was so relatable to today. It was good. Kinda shows what's happening in the Church today.

Yes, I too, love the dialogue; " I was one way...and now I am completely different..and the thing that happened in between, was Him." That phrase can be a part of every believer's testimony..because when we were lost in darkness..and then we were found! That mediator is Christ!

The scene of interweaving Thadeus's explanation of stone masonry with the launching of Jesus's earthly ministry through the miracle at the wedding was phenomenal! The metaphor of "no going back" was a spine-tingling moment! As an author, I felt myself saying a triumphant YES! at such brilliant juxtapositioning of the character arcs in that moment!
I am just plain addicted to these videos, Dallas. I am praying for God to obviously hover over you in every challenge and put powerful anointing on the entire team and all you are doing. I saw your new video at the farm when it rained, when you shared the depth of your heart/soul. I prayed for you to "just rest and watch Him work through you, without stressful effort on your part. God has many surprises for you and the whole team. I pray protection, great health, protection and abundance in every way. In Christ's Great Name.....amen!

But there was at least one miracle omitted. The centurion's servant being healed was directly before the healing of Simon's mother-in-law in the Gospels. I loved the decleration that Jesus made regarding the centurion's faith.
I love the way you portrayed Matthew and Peter with their flaws. Gives me encouragement God can use me too regardless of my weaknesses. Please keep doing what you’re doing. I look forward to seeing how you portray Acts 2 on The Day of Pentecost. It’s amazing that Tyler admires the cathedrals in Peoria, IL. My friends and I experienced an in-depth tour of St. Mary’s in the summer. It’s immaculate-especially since it underwent a restoration in 2016.

I’m curious what year it was that you wrote the two thieves because in the late 90s I felt an overwhelming urge to pray for Christian filmmaking and at one point I thought I was going to be a part of it and then it became clear that I wasn’t and personally this is why I’m so thrilled to see The chosen!

I super loved that Thaddeus and Mary conversation and how it was overlaid on Jesus' first "public" miracle! How you handled that scene really stood out for me...so I was somehow wishing Tyler would mention that because it was just soooo brilliant! And yey! So happy to hear that it was something that he found special, too!

In Sabbath School, we learned that much of the Bible is written in kind of a poetic style. As a writer, that thought made me feel understood and made by God in deep, memorable ways. 💜

His suffering before and during the cross is hard for us to wrap our heads around but we can totally understand the pain of cutting his hand. It is very real to us. Does that make sense. I've always been fascinated by Nicodemus in the NT... always been convinced the he became a believer. THANK YOU for featuring him so prominently. All of the "it could have happened this way" stuff is fun, and doesn't compromise the accuracy of Scripture. Thanks for keeping the historical fiction historically accurate...thanks for capturing the humanity of Jesus and the disciples without making it goofy. Very anxious for Season 2. I am so moved by this series because it think it fills a need. Most are taught Jesus died to ‘save us from our sins so we can go to heaven someday.’ And that is true but it is only a part of the Gospel. He came to restore what was lost, the image of God (LOVE)-which was also the connection to Him so we could hear our Father individually as Jesus did. I woke up this morning with the word ‘and He walked with them in the cool of the evening.’ As I communed with Holy Spirit I got the impression that God still came to Adam and Eve after they fell and the image or connection with Father was severed through that sin, even if they were unaware of it. God still saw them, just as Jesus ‘saw’ Mary even though she was possessed-He saw her value as God created her.
I think this show fills the ‘need’ of people to know more fully why Jesus came and how He was modeling the life Adam and Eve were intended to live, and that we are intended to live as sons and daughters of our Father in heaven (Papa to me) and COVER THE EARTH WITH HIS GLORY (can you say awaken the hearts of the billions of people on this earth?!). This show carries His Presence and will transform more lives than we can even conceive of for generations to come.
I wanna say, thank you so much for your team's effort to making this "Jesus's great journal" series.

Love what God is doing through you guys. You mentioned possibly 8 seasons... there's so much to cover at the "end" including Passion week, the crucifixion, the resurrection, ascension, and pentecost. How have/will you decide how much viewing time you are dedicating to these "final" events versus the character development leading up to them? It must be a tough balance, as the character development will only make the events of passion more impactful...

The Bible is obviously wonderful, but it is not really big on character development. But, when you put a scenario where Peter is in debt for back taxes with the miracle of the 153 fish it opens up his character, and that of those around him. It could have happened that way, but even if it didn’t happen that way, you are faithful to the scripture.
Peter is my kind of guy. “Anything worth doing is worth doing to excess.”
Keep up the awesome job. We binge watched Season 1, because it was so well done. Now we have to wait for Season 2. Would that that was the greatest challenge of life.

So fun to hear how the stories developed! Thank you for sharing it / this is the BEST story ever told (no pun intended) The Chosen ! The visual effects and the characters' story lines, I'm in love with this totally// prayers for its completion and fruition. While Satan was busy strategizing destruction (pandemic, sickness, death), this REVIVAL punched him in the face and is delivering life and hope in God/Jesus.
