The story of a man with the goal of bringing peace and happiness in a dreadful, unforgiving world.
Something he surprisingly acomplished, and as such, he had no other thing to do but sit around and watch as people lived in joy while prasing him, something he came to find meaningless.
Driven by his desire to do something, feel something, he went insane and brought death to his people.
The "happy ending" he promised was reached in one way, his own happiness at the cost of everyone elses suffering, that is.
Moral of the story:

Uber, if you liked Frostpunk I think Rimworld is right up your alley. There is no other game where commiting war crimes is that easy. While the graphics might turn one off at first, it is the the depth and replayability which brings you in. It doesn't hurt that there are enough mods in the game to live out the rest of your natural lifespan playing nothing else but rimworld. If you need any more convincing I recommend watching ssethtzeentach's review of the game. If that can't convince you, nothing will.

I'm shocked at how well you explained the feeling of this game. The first time you play, its incredible, its so fun learning the systems, exploring the world, the atomsphere is great and i want to keep playing but then you finish and realise oh wait theres nothing else here
The FPS only drops when you have a lot of roads and have a lot of people. Each citizen has to calculate the shortest path to go to their destination, which slows down the game.
TLTR:
Less roads=higher fps
And it makes me wonder how RTS like CnC series managed to be a beast in pathfinding of thousands of units with no reduction in processing
@@WingMaster562 I think those games basically save the ideal path from one place to another once it's calculated. Frostpunk literally calculates the same exact thing every single frame, and with, say, 300 people at 60FPS that'll be largely the exact same calculation 1800 times a second. To compensate, it then slows its FPS so it has to calculate less.
It's just shit optimisation.
We can reiterate it differently: Less people = higher fps.
And it's not our fault. It's game designers which are evil people by forcing us to embrace dictatorship :3
You just need to implement the paradox method of reducing late game lag. Genocide.

Funkytown would make a nice setting for a movie, the last bastion of humanity against the cold. Making the "New Faith" the problem the hero (or heroine) would solve, exposing the corrupt fanatics and either ushering the total order and law... Or leading the people who would die to a new location, like you said, building a generator.
This leads to the sequel where the two cities, Funkytown and Bugtussle, would fight one another after years of planning, leading to the end of either one, and them having to once again work together to survive.
As a guy who has played this game as well I cannot stress enough how important it is that Uber said "zero replay value".
Don't buy unless you are completely satisfied with a meaningless and unexplained setting while simultaneously having nothing to do anymore once you get a headstart of the weather.

the year is 3023, and the reincarnation of uberdanger is the one leading the only remaining city on earth. shit.
Somehow, even with the ability to pause and think whenever I wanted, the storm during the last portion of the main scenario was one of the most hectic, stressful, and intense moments of gaming I've ever had. And I fucking loved it. Sound design is key sometimes.
I really love the subtle amount of artistic effort that goes into your vids man. Never quit being you Uber. That last joke had me dying

However, despite it hurting, continue with your daily routine and cherish small moments of happiness you'll feel among the periods of sorrow. Try to do things that make you happy, even if they remind you of your SO, but once again, wail if you want.
Eventually, things will begin feeling like normal again. It won't ever be the same without her, but very slowly you'll grow to cope with the fact that she's not here anymore. It might take a few weeks, or it might take a year, but it will happen.

I like how his biggest complaint about the game (nothing to do after making a full, self-sustaining city) was fixed a bit after this video came out. He even mentioned some direct things that ended up in the game.

Okey wtf. I haven't heard a word about this game since it came out UNTIL today, listening to a podcast from 2018. And you release this. What the hell man.
Thankfully, PCs have improved since 2019 and the game has been optimized since then. So...no pink water cooling here.
Also would you believe me that I beat the game on its default setting with just a few reloads and a single all-nighter of gameplay? Particularly since many of the events are pre-scripted, so there isn't much variance between different runs.
I love frostpunk, and this was probably the best review of it i've seen.
