50 Years Ago On This Date - April 28, 1973. The Roseville Train Yard Massive Bomb Explosions happened. It went on all day long.
Our family awoke to the sounds of the explosions happening in Roseville, here at our home in Orangevale. I wasn't sure what was going on but I grabbed my tape recorder and placed it in my bedroom window sill. What you will hear on this audio only recording are the sounds we heard that morning. I like how you can hear the windows rattling at each explosion is happening. You can also hear some of the neighborhood dogs and birds reacting to the sounds. - BJ Nartker

I lived on Biruta Ave, off of Almond Ave near Oak Ave. I was warming up for a Little League game when all of this started. It was a big deal.

My Dad used to work in those yards in the early '50's. I think we lived in Lindsay, CA when this happened.
