How to fix no signal from backup camera aftermarket Android car stereo

- I found a solution for the "No Signal" problem from the backup camera. It took me a while before I figure this problem out by accident. I have been looking for the solution from youtube but can't find any help, so I just thought this would help people with the same issue.

I tried the touch screen method but unfortunately it didn’t come out with the option to change camera. I did find that going to factory set up (passcode 1234) and then Backcar source settings let me choose which camera to select and it worked! This video definitely led me in the right direction.
This video is excellent but the factory > back car settings is how I finally got my camera signal to work. Thanks for sharing this solution.

5:16 under factory settings then protocol parameters and then reverse camera format then I had to pick ntsc/pal for 2007 Honda crv oem camera

I did a factory reset on my stereo and it made the camera stop working. I’ve been driving around with “no signal” for 2 years. Took it to audio repair shop and they said I needed a new head unit because the camera was not the problem.

For the lines, go to settings, Factory settings. The code is 8888 to get in. I went to Protocol parameter settings and it was in there somewhere. I want to say it had the word reverse, guide, or lines. I have Android 13 with the same issue, I plan on trying your way to get a picture, willl update if it works or not

Yep fixed it , don't know how , found a new menu with usb clicked on it and it installed my camera, didn't need factory settings , just wish they would provide you with proper instructions / Manual , it would save so much time and heartache . Thanks again for your video, helped me a lot.

Hi Marvin, I am doing the same thing on my car almost for a month now. Ordered 4 reverse cameras from Aliexpress as I was not happy with the quality although they mentioned HD. Finally got one arrived 2 days back which is supposed to be AHD. My Android has an option to choose AHD but it does not show anything. They have an option to go normal CVBS by cutting the wire which works. I am still trying to figure out how I will make the AHD work. It's good to do this DIYs but really takes a lot of time getting stuff shipped from China and then figuring out how it works. I am going to try your solution tomorrow and hoping it will work. Thanks for sharing this video.

Old video but I’m grateful that I found your video. I also tried it in the factory setting but that doesn’t work (not sure why) but I didn’t know this trick. Otherwise I would have checked the wiring which would be a pain in the ass. Thanks!!

Same here tried all the camera options and it didn’t work. I ordered another camera to try. Because I made a mistake initially so I feel maybe the camera is bad.

Oh, I wanted to mention I had a blank screen at first. Then I just had the colored parking lines. I'm hoping your solution will put my backup camera image on the android touchscreen.

If your camera is low resolution then its gonna be blurry but you can always upgrade, lots from amazon, thanks for watching.

Hi. Great video. I'm having an issue with ahd camera I got. I'm not getting any signal just black screen. Will try this tomorrow, I also tried a normal cvbs camera and that worked fine on the same wiring. Anyone know which loop wire should I cut to make my camera cvbs only. I bought from Aliexpress also, unless you speak Chinese there are problems , it brings " lost in translation " into play. They use , Frame only left and frame only Right , instead of LEFT HAND DRIVE and RIGHT HAND DRIVE. So the frame is the Fascia that holds the head unit in place , now if you have a Right hand drive car , then the Frame / Fascia head unit would be on the left and vs versa for Left hand drive, try explaining that after you have been sent the wrong one twice in two months. Everything works fine for me apart from the Dash-cam , NO SIGNAL ,so after taking it all out yet again and checking my connections , I'll give your secret menu a shot. As you say NO instructions in English.
Hi, some viewers commented that touching the screen and holding with 1 finger only doesn't work but with two fingers it does and the secret menu appears, but for most people including me, 1 finger works. For wrong item sent, I usually send them a picture of the dash so they can send me the right one cross 🤞. Anyway keep us updated and and thanks for watching leaving acomment🙂

To remove the lines, go to factory settings, code should be 8888, select ok, select from 1st row, the 2nd option, it will show all of the camera settings for reverse lines

Great helpful video as commented by many people in here.... Will appreciate if you could guide further on it as in my case your suggested screen menu doesn't show selections, it shows only default settings of camera/types. Kindly help on this! Thank you
That's mean to me that you have different version of Android which supposed to detect the camera automatically. Make sure to double check the wiring and you are using a supported backup camera by your head unit. Thanks for response Bro, actually this problem popped up suddenly, otherwise same camera was working good. Local technician tried everything including new camera, video cable, wiring, reset etc but all in vain! He said that head unit got the issue n can't be fixed..... Which I don't think bcoz everything else is working fine except back camera. Pls suggest solutions if you think anything else. Thank you
@@alipno I would check the 12-volt supply to your backup camera if present when you shift the car in reverse.

Very informative, mine is actually working but sometimes I get randomly the no sign error. Not sure if this would fix… any ideas ?
Sounds like you have intermittent loose connection. I would double check that all connectors are plug in properly. I had intermittent like that before and the 12 volts that supplying the back camera was lose so I soldered the connection to prevent loose contact.
