Opening up a beer and unboxing some new gear , - you are a poet and don't know it lol . I'm just looking into medium or power BFS , got a Kastking rod rated up to 12g , I'm looking at the Tsurinoya FX150 , which is rated for 5-30g casting weight - and I understand has drag clicker . I have heavy pike gear , but its not much fun to use unless you hook double figure pike around the 20lb mark , and I've only ever hooked 1 at 18lb , normal round here is 2-5 LB max , so I'm looking to go lighter , I've found you can land big fish on light gear if one comes along , but when smaller stuff is the norm , you get more pleasure out of using lighter gear . Looking forward to you fishing that power BFS set up , tight lines .
I've caught a few on it so far. The best workout was in this video: th-cam.com/video/BSWOumjGwd0/w-d-xo.html A couple decent smallmouth and a surprise catch.
I bought the 7.1 MM (Kingdom) with 2 spools which is the pink version of what you have at 135g, and what you originally ordered . I have the DWU also,. The MM is so smooth that it compares to my Aldebaran BFS and puts my DWU to shame. Perhaps it is the quality control on the DWU.
Its always fun gettin new fishin gear!!! I bought the amazon cheap brand of the dark sleeper smellled pretty terrible and havent caught anything on them yet... those mega bass ones are sooo expensive!!!
Update: The ML rated Mojo Bass rod came in. It is a beautiful rod with excellent workmanship and measured in the middle of industry standard for its ML rating. Many thanks for the recommendation. I'm glad I ordered it when I did since the price with shipping has gone up $17.00.

Based on this video and your subsequent in use review of the Bass Mojo rod I just ordered one. For what it is worth, I have one other Obsession rod and the workmnship was excellent but the power rating was inaccurate. It was rated L, but when measured it turned out to be almost a M. ( I have a jig and measure the deflection of rods with standardized weights.) Hopefully the Bass Mojo power ratings are closer to industry standard...
I can't speak to that and con't measure it, but I have enjoyed the rod and it doesn't seem to be anywhere near an M based on my previous rods. Hope you enjoy your as well.

The spare spool you have is for the 7.1 which is pink, although the spool works well on both I have the purple MM 8.1 also and unfortunately it does not perform as smoothly as the 7.1. Doc
I bought another Kingdom Micro Monster 7.1 w/2 spools (pink) for $70 delivered-I caught a $6 coupon plus the $6 during the sale. I never buy a real without getting a coupon. The last DWU I bought I paid $58 total. I bought my most recent MM to see about the quality control. The free spool on the 7.1 compares with the aldebaran 2022 and abugarcia REVO MGX2. The new 7.1 is just as good and much better than the MM8.1(Purple). Love your smallmouth videos. Doc 1/5

Great work Aaron, I love my MM .Only 2 minor drawbacks but nothing to be alarmed.One being with really fine lines a backlash can sometimes get behind the spool,but that is common on many "CDM" .Also my thumbar spool release is a little bit loose ,not the mechanism just the plastic pad,, from what I hear also happens on DWU, easy fix though with a bit of locktite. Very nice,smooth reel for the price All the best.
@@AaronHuntFishing You should be alright,I watch all your videos and you look to be a fine caster.With mine I practice practice practice for up to 2 hours casting different distances, targets etc.Once you find the sweet spot on that reel it is very well behaved.For some reason the MM likes to be somewhere between 3 and 4 on the setting for most weights.On the one I have anyhow. I've heard it's a dark wolf ultra clone. It might feel a bit smoother, but so far the cast control has been a little hit or miss. I tend to miss off-line with it, whereas the DWU tends to vary in distance but is usually on line. I'm going to do some trout fishing witht he Mirco Monster this fall before I finish my review to tryt o do a more direct comparison to the DWU. BUT, it's not a bad reel. seems worth the money.
Today I received my Ace Hawk Venom 7' version casting rod. Experienced the same situation as you. Tried to thread onto the rod reel seat my DWU reel and it doesn't fit, my Kastking Zephyr and it doesn't fit, my Aldebaran 22 and it doesn't fit. The thread section on the rod used to screw down the reel foot is too short. Only reel that fits, barely, is my Alphas Air TW. Poor reel seat design,
sorry to hear that. It's why i try to share these unboxings and give my actual user expereince. Doubly sad because you know how I feel about the AATW....
@@AaronHuntFishing HaHa. Yes, I know the AATW is not at the top of your list of favorite reels. I ordered my Venom rod before your unboxing video but the rod just arrived yesterday. With a little more force, I was able to screw on my DWU but barely. Rid wasn't too expensive and hopefully it performs well. BTW, I was going to stick with my DWU reels but with the Yen exchange rate so favorable now, I bought a Aldebaran 22. Currently, I feel the Aldebaran 22 is the best BFS reel.
My Venom will not accept some of my reels. The pockets for the reel foot need to be deeper or the threads for the forward portion extended. I would not recommend this rod.
@@jayludvigh6958 I agree with Jay. Too many other good inexpensive aliexpress rods available. Other rods can do the same as the Venom and don't need to hassle the short reel seat.

Hope to see a review of the Tank 150! That's a reel I've been looking at, but not willing to order till I see some vids of it being used first!

I like Aliexpress but the shipping just takes forever. I love how cheap the lures are and need to get more rods.
Yeah - the anticipation kinda builds - but I think it's also why I don;t rememeber all the specs of what I bought!
You can buy a Major Craft Finetail casting rod cheaper than the TTC510LS and have it delivered in 3-4 days cheaper with the 135/1 exchange rate.
