I apologize for the delayed response. It depends on the application, but I use "timber screws" on many porches. Toenailed in they are very secure, but check your local building codes to be sure...tom
I am sorry it took me so long to get back to you. Clear silicone may be an option. Make sure to cut a small hole in the caulk tube. The biggest mistake I find with caulk is using too much. cutting the hole too big makes a huge mess...tom
Great words on thumb & horizon, and hole & crack. I will never get confused when doing construction outdoors!
You make it look so easy! 🤩 Great straight to the point no fluff video. Very much appreciate it.
Awesome! Every human should have skills like that, whooo! Enjoyed watching your conversion, Thank you!
That is very nice to say Charmaine. Thank you
Great tips for remembering the differences between plumb and level as well as when to use caulk instead of putty. Thanks
I enjoyed your delivery. Good video 👍
Looks great were going to do the same to our 1930s covered porch. I learned alot watching this.
Awesome. Have fun
Awesome!!! Learned a lot! THANK YOU!! Great job!!!!

Looks awesome wish I could hire you to help me out. Trying to convert my porch to a catio
Charming. You could also add historic style storm windows that attach to the porch with sash hangers (2 divided light window). Double strength glass.
YOU THE MAN!!
Wow u make it look so eazy
Good video, keep it up!
Thanks brother
Do you have any videos on how you screened in the porch. Best methods to add the scree?
How did u make the wood siding on an angle? Any tips? Looks nice
That's beautiful bro
thank you Spencer
Great tips! Thanks .
But you make it look so easy 😨
Do you do screen rooms in Cocoa Florida? I need to get this aluminum replaced with the looks of this project. Great job!
Thank you for the compliment, but I am sorry to say that I do not.
Omg, my dads in construction and I’ve ALWAYS wondered why it was called a “Saw Zaw” 😂😂❤
Looks great! How did you fasten the 4x4 studs to the floor and roof?
I apologize for the delayed response. It depends on the application, but I use "timber screws" on many porches. Toenailed in they are very secure, but check your local building codes to be
sure...tom
Everyone knows how the 4x4s were secured except me and you Jono.Good question though 👍
What do you recommend to fill the gaps between the porch framing and the vinyl siding - to keep the bugs out??
I am sorry it took me so long to get back to you. Clear silicone may be an option. Make sure to cut a small hole in the caulk tube. The biggest mistake I find with caulk is using too much. cutting the hole too big makes a huge mess...tom
Sawzall is a milwaukee brand name for rep saw lols ... but it does saws all
nice
when u first install the post, how does it stand up? or is it just floating until you add the frame around it?
I put up a temporary post with a floor jack under it so that I can adjust the height and then lower it whenever the new post is installed
Good job but a saw zaw only pertain to Milwaukee tools.
Where is the videos for the rest of the porch?
Not sure what you mean
Isn't the floor going to rot underneath? Don't you need a slab or vapor barrier or something?
That’s a good question. As long as the roof hangs over enough, it does not get wet. It should last a very long time.
How did you create your mesh screens?
I used grey aluminum
So annoying you can't see the finished product at the end
