Just a tip. When framing a door. I like to leave the bottom plate bolted to the ground all the way across the opening and then before you mount the door cut down with the oscillating saw and pry up the cut piece. This way it’ll keep your walls in a straight line
This is awesome and I bet in the future if you were to actually make that into a full blown 4 season sunroom it wouldn’t take much to make that happen Excellent work sir
Helpful video! And man, I’ve pulled too many back muscles just like you. I used to stretch so often and was always confused about my muscle tightness. It’s because of weakness. If you can begin doing light deadlifts/ rows/ anything to engage a large amount of musculature in your back, I promise you’ll feel a lot safer moving around
If you're taking adderall (since you mentioned it in the video), make sure you hydrate and eat properly even if you're not feeling hungry. Decreased thirst and appetite are side effects of stimulants like adderall.
Great video! Do you have the full video in regular speed? This was pretty fast to follow and I’m getting ready to start on mine, would be helpful to have the slower version.
How well does this hold up in high winds I’m in DFW and get high winds I have some emerald green thuja I planted for wind/privacy but they still need to grow.
Your left foot was forward and you twisted at the waist, leaning slightly forward/sideways while lifting…standing directly in front of what you’re lifting will help; no twisting at the waist. Beautiful job!
Beautiful and no bugs or snakes! I used to live in DFW area of Texas and because of the dry heat, sitting in the shade is very different than sitting in the direct sun. Tolerable most of the year. Thanks for sharing! Byeeeeeeeeeeeee :)
DRY? In DFW? When? It’s humid af here. East Texas is humid, central and west is dry as a bone. Lived in Dallas 20 years and 5 years in Amarillo. Walking outside in the summer in Dallas is like walking into a sauna
@@Maaad-maaan Texas humidity is nothing compared to east coast. That’s what I was comparing it to. It was a dryer heat to me. I lived about 30 miles west of Dallas .
Looks great! And you're right about its not structural! So I don't have to worry about how mines enclosed! Just makes it less stressful looking at it like that!
I've been looking for something just like this for my apartment patio - screened-in space, not something structural (I had a similar one at my old house). Question - My townhouse apartment patio is 17.5 FT wide x 9 FT deep. There's a privacy fence panel on each 9-ft side separating my space form my neighbor's space, and it starts about 18" up from the ground. One end is connected to the brick building, the other end is connected to the metal fence post just passed the concrete patio. Do I need to attach the 2x4's to the privacy panels, if so, how do I do that? What method is reocmmended that won't cause too much damage (something I can fix later down the road if I need to)?
Kidney stone moved and felt like you hurt your back. So excellent screen porch. I got a quote from a screen company yesterday for $12,000!! I have brick columns and need to figure out all I’ll need to tackle this job myself. I’m looking forward to it. .. I don’t have all the tools I’ll need but I’ll get there. Thanks for the video which is a big help!!
@@wadawas so…a friend came over and said he’s going to build me a screened in porch using a redwood…now I can’t think of the name…it will be a custom deal and I’m very excited to see the outcome.
In regards to the injury, its important to avoid simultaneous spinal flexion and rotation. So just try to face the direction you plan to reach or lean to.
thanks for this tutorial. i have an exsiting pation but just want to add a screened area so it would keep bugs out from the house. and i would be able to leave my front door open for air.

Cool video. Might try myself. Our back moves several directions: side to side, twist, front and back. Any time a movement combines one or more movement, chance of injury compounds. Doctor told me that. Cheers.
I think they add them so people are less likely to walk through the screen and so they have a little shelf to put drinks on. I haven't had any issues with out one.
@@SomeSkillStudio Ah, okay. I am in the process of building it. I think I am going to put one in because I have a toddler. He might try to push through the screen. 😂 Thanks for the video. It helped a lot. I am in Texas, too, so I am taking my time.
yo thanks for the info on the process. i have a patio i want to enclose, thankfully i only need to do 2 walls (one with a door) hoping i can put then squeeze a plastic tub for a pond, then turn it into an aquaponics system, with some bluegill :D
I saw the screen system you recommended, 98” long for almost $300, how can you only spend $500 for the whole project? Just curious if they increased the price lately 😊
When reaching, even if ur holding something not heavy, DO NOT TWIST UR WRIST... keep ur arm straight as possible during the lean! Follow Orlando's Electric Handyman for more. Great video 👍👷💪
Regarding your pain, there are food High in Oxalates. Oxalates are like little crystal shards that cause congestion and pain. For example, potatoes are High in Oxalates. If you eat a lot of potatoes or other high Oxalates foods you can and will be in pain. Good Luck on finding out the real cause 🙏 all the best ✨
You didnt bend yout knees instead you used an end of range otion while having the load too far away from you. With all manual tasks you need to remeber BACKS: Biggest muscles do the work (butt and legs etc.) Abdominal muscles braced Curves of the spine neutral Keep the load close Safety - is it safe
My bad, I didn't see that the door didn't have a latch. Turned out really nice. I sent this video to my husband because we're trying to decide how to redo our porch.
I know I’m late but possible rib subluxation/slipped rib. I suffer from this every few years and it can happen just bending slightly to rinse a dish 🙇♂️
Where you hurt yourself: You had your left leg extended in front of you and your foot planted, but your foot was not facing forward- it was slightly pronated (facing inward) and locked, and you were pushing off your back foot. The motion you were doing with the piece of food was arms extended in front of you holding something fairly heavy, and then lowering your arms to lower the wood to the ground. So that by itself can cause a lot of stress to the back muscles- serratus, lattismus etc. But THEN if you notice, the very last thing you did was you pushed off your extended back foot and made a slight twisting motion at the hips, pushing your right hip forward. That would have been the straw that broke the camel's back, or your back, as it were. JK... not a break but definitely a muscle strain. Possibly the internal obliques but that's just a guess :D
I'm surprised you didn't leave any kick panels to the bottom of the screened areas. I hope you don't have any pets or wild animals around, you are likely to find that you are going to get some holes around the base where things dig through the screen. Squirrels can be really bad if they smell anything like food in that enclosed area. Also if you are using nylon screening material, with panels that large you are likely to get a lot of stretch over time from wind and sag (under it's own weight).
Looks like it is because you were slightly twisted AND bending forward slightly. Both can stress a muscle and doing both at the same time definitely can. Twisting, especially while holding any amount of weight increases the work of the spine and the muscles that support it. Anything that moves your center of gravity forward can stress those muscles. I always tell patients that their feet should face the same direction as your face and of course softening your knees helps force you to decrease the work of your low back.
how u hurt yourself: usually something was already unsteady and about to blow. basically weakened. then ANY small stupid thing will be the last straw to then be an injury. it's how people do crazy injuries on the smallest stupidest stuff. regular stretching REALLY helps mitigate this.
Amazing video... Got any good answers, on how you hurt yourself? If you don't have kidney stones... You more than likely stretch too far to your sides. Your lumbar disks can only take so much. People think they have to lift something heavy, or twist too much, and your disks pop out. (That is not the case) It's the way you were moving side to side, you were putting too much weight to your rightside disc. Hope you didn't herniate it. Take care of your back. Don't over do it. (Do you have a stationary job?) Are you sitting down most of the day? That will do it too.
Hey that came out great! In about 4 months it will be real nice to sit in haha! Glad the camera is working out for you, thanks for the shout out! Love your channel man!
