NEW NEW UPDATE OCTOBER 2023 - turns out this cart is now officially my worst purchase ever - another cartridge in poor condition sold for around ~$3000
NEW UPDATE July 28, 2023: one finally auctioned on eBay! It sold for $5200. Some minor label wear to it. You should be easily able to find the listing if you want to check it out (until eBay removes it).
Old Update: a copy of this sold on November 4, 2022, for $7200 on Heritage Auctions.
I purchased this one back in May 2022 for $8000. That is a value loss of $800 minimum between sales, or -10%. (I say minimum because the seller isn't going to walk away with $7200, and no guarantee I would either).
I enjoy transparency on these kinds of things.

Normally I would be against buying any game for that much, but considering what this is, I get it. There can't be that many of these in circulation.
Granted, I also bought two copies of a nearly complete Atari 2600 game so I could keep the "complete" version I cobbled together out of it and sell the rest to recoup some of my cost.
I ended up paying $600 (roughly) for both auctions and sold the remainder of the items for just about $300 and I walked away with my "complete'" version.

That cartridge has the whole game on it. Hackers were able to bypass the demo and play the full game months before it came out. I remember hearing about it when it happened and I've seen a few videos that mention it before. It was a really dope time for video games.
Yeah you can do that with the silent hill demo that came with MGS
Quite a bit later, but there was a really easy glitch you could do to get unlimited playtime and leave the demo area on Just Cause 2. IIRC most of the game was there and you could even do some missions.

well you can get the full game for 20-70 (condition determining price) bucks on ebay. much better deall than 8000 for a demo cart that needs to be cracked.

Homeboy has to have type disposable income. He says he basically doesn't care if he makes money as he 'converted his cash to a physical object he can exchange for *some* money back in the future' so idk if this is a shitty investment or another form of money laundering.
It's especially stupid cause he bought it based off an auction house's pricing who's *known to collude with their grader to get higher scores for their listings* and *has been caught selling games at inflated prices to executives to manipulate the market* and make it appear there is a lot of money in game auctions.

Holy crap, I remember playing this demo back in 2000, it was super cool! I remember trying both the Deku Palace and the Goron Race and being blown away by how different the gameplay was from Ocarina... wow I never thought I'd see this again.
Majora's mask was such a masterpiece. What's crazy is that it's essentially just an OOT ROM hack that was made in about a year.
That's not true at all lmfao. Just because it used the same engine, doesn't mean it was essentially a "ROM hack". The game is VASTLY different from OOT in every possible way. To say what you have said shows your ignorance on the subject.

I saw and played this once at our local Toys'R'Us (which is now gone :'( ) and it completely fooled me as a kid. 1 it needed the expansion pack which we didn't have, 2 it was so different we were baffled as to why the real copy didn't have a damn thing. I mean, my family and I were young at the time, but I"m so glad you found that! I KNEW something like this existed!

That’s WAY more than you should be spending on that game.. they’re rare and expensive, I made a video covering the entire demo… I think it’s maybe a $3000-$4000 game which is very expensive but 8 grand is even more out of control.
You should consider making a copy of the files and uploading them to rom sites so they can be preserved

@@Darkkomics It’s a HDMI converter, you can find some on the internet for $20 it takes in the comp cables and outputs a HDMI cable.

btw another game that does the giant boss thing pretty well imo is luigi’s mansion 2! around the end you fight a giant knight and when i played it for the first time as a kid it blew me away, as it was bigger than even the locations in the game too

Maybe you might have had to pay 10-12K for one in a year or so if you tried to save a few bucks and it didn't work out and have to pay more later. Im currently playing Majora's mask on the collectors edition disk that I got for $65 on ebay used, it comes with an empty inventory but all the satisfaction of actually completing one of the hardest games they ever made in the zelda franchise..
