I just can't handle how beautiful it is, I also have quest 3 512GB , impeccable standalone headset
Yeah it’s really clear, looks amazing!
Hey, great video, just as an FYI, the FC3 aircraft are more impacted by lower settings on the HUD, its a known issue and hopefully will be improved. Thanks!
Ey! Nice to see you here! Thanks for dropping by!!!
Hey, I have the same HOTAS as you and the "settings sometimes change and I have to rebind them" is probably caused by you switching the 3-position button in the middle of hotas. It allows you to "switch modes", therefore you have 3times the ammout of buttons per your HOTAS.
It's so smooth now. Playing through Raven One again after the update. Don't even have DLSS enabled.
Yeah, it’s really smooth, I was really impressed, I need to do further testing to see whether the smear occurs with other headsets, but in general it looks impeccable.
All the footage was recorded on the Q3 which just shows how good it looks
I've played dcs content for years. Just a casual flight sim guy. I got the quest 2 and 3, just tried dcs for the first time using openXR toolkit and actually had a life changing experience just doing a quick mission in VR.... Using an i5 10600, 32g ram, 3060ti and im easily running 72fps solid. Cockpits are crisp, landscape is shockingly OK, i cannot believe this.
VR makes DCS feel totally different, it's genuinely amazing
How about the quest 3 battery? The quest 2 after 5/6 at max hours even connected with the cable finish its battery. How Quest 3 is doing?
The Q3’s battery is no better than the Q2’s I get roughly the same time
I have rtx 2080 ti and I"m running FSR on it and it's a good FPS upgrade. It also does not have all the graphic oddities I saw when using DLSS.
That’s good to know, I need to spend more time with FSR and NIS to see if I can garner better performance from those
Hi, I have an AMD card and I'm trying to optimize, what upscaling do you recommend? How do you combat the ghosting? Thanks
@@Yorickkindait would be really cool if you can make a video for the best settings for VR (fsr and dlss). Such a video isn't out yet and I'm eager to find out
Don't get me wrong, this is still a really good video.
@@commandmax3931 I can put time into that, for sure
You should change your Clouds to High from "ultra" so you can bump up some other settings. With your vis range at "Medium" you should have some settings room without too much of an impact at all :)
Yeah, I usually do but I glanced over that one. Tbh though, clouds in VR look pretty bad in DCS
@@Yorickkinda I agree, especially in DLSS with any setting below "quality". I'm having a tough time choosing the immersion of VR or the 150 fps at max settings without VR. DCS is a beautiful game at max settings.
That's good, but I returned to the MT version and used NIT in the OpenXr Toolkit with no MSAA. I can deal with a bit of shimmering over the acid trip that DLSS causes on my 2070. Hoping either I can upgrade my GPU or ED finally finishes the Vulcan update soon.
I dream for Vulcan
Hey Yorick, have you noticed the strange graphical anomaly where the exterior of the plane is warping and shaking strangely? It only seems to be happening to some (myself included) and I'm trying to figure out if there's something I can do to rectify it or if I have to wait until a patch. Thanks! o7
Yes I have as well, I refer to it as ghosting normally. Looks like there are two of the same thing existing in the same space
@@Yorickkinda Yeah I get that too but mine is even stranger, I'll upload an example later but yeah good thing to know it's not just me! o7
@@MILSPECMOM yeah please send us across a video!
@@Yorickkinda had to tag you in the unlisted vid as youtube doesn't like linking. :(
Hey Yorick, Is it harder in Quest 3 to spot planes in comparison to the monitor with head tracking? Do you feel like you are somehow in disadvantage with VR over monitor ? Thanks!
Quite the opposite, there’s a weird visual glitch with VR headsets where you can see planes much further away than on flatscreen. They appear like small black dots in your view.
It’s kinda annoying and I would like it to disappear, but considering flatscreen players have the ability to zoom their view to obscene levels, it kinda serves a similar purpose
Hy there my pc is i9 9900k 64 mb ram and rtx 4070ti and guest 3 and the graphics when I get into the game is not nearly this good and your video here any help appreciate 👍
Hi, great video. Were you using the Oculus link cable for this?
Not the oculus OEM one, but a link cable, yes. Airlink/VD has just a little too much latency for a fair test in my case
@@Yorickkinda I've got a 3080ti and a Ryzen 5800x. Tempted to pull the trigger on a quest 3 for PCVR sim games. Would be interesting to see if you would get further improvements if you used the quest settings that VR Flight Sim Guy used in one of his latest videos.
I’ll check it out, there are a tonne of different things here there and everywhere that you can use to eek out a little extra performance that I tend not to use because I’m a little lazy.
I will try and produce a VR guide to DCS with the process I take to get the best overall performance to visual ratio using the Q3
Do you guys think with a Rtx 4070ti 12GB vram, i9 13900k, 32gb ram 4000mt and 27” 2k monitor will run this Quest 3 or should I get the Q2? Thanks
Yeah, 100% I have ran a 2070 super with my Q3 on DCS, my 3080ti is a lesser card than the 4070ti, so you should be fine.
I’m going to be working on a VR setting guide for DCS that should come out this week, and ill go over what’s best to do to maximise performance
@@Yorickkinda I appreciate! I’ll definitely check it out then
I love your background picture big fan of sloths
It’s pretty strong as a background
If only Quest 3 had eye tracking. Foveated rendering nets large performance increase.
100% that would be amazing
how do you even get VR to run 2.9?
on Steam
You have to make sure you have the open beta running on steam first with the MT build running, then when you’re in the game me go to settings and there will be a VR tab, go there and check the box that says “Start in VR.” Save and the game should restart. Make sure your headset is on and it should load into the game in VR mode.
Pixel density in vr option? (on dcs)
I’ve got it set to default.
@@Yorickkinda 1.0
Correcc
Iam unable to select DLSS?
Take sure you’re running the MT build, also if you have an AMD card you won’t be able to run DLSS only FSR
How many fps in each?
72fps hard locked to the refresh rate of the headset (I never bother going higher) however the frame time was stable and I didn’t experience the input latency that usually presents with unstable frame timing
Quest Pro here, DLSS just doesn't work with VR at least for me, lots of stuttering, freezing, color distortion, etc. ..
Although I am using OpenXR with the command shortcut to force it so in game I do not have "run in VR" checked, not sure if that could have something to do with it.
Should I ditch openXR and try and run the game in Native VR mode?
Ryzen 7 5800X OC @ 4.6GHZ all core
32 GB DDR4 @ 3200
RTX 3070
Thank you for the comment, I would say A/B testing between the two and also monitoring your performance metrics to see whether your CPU is lagging, shouldn’t be though - the 5800x is a good chip
Be aware...the Oculus quest app V63 and DCS are not compatible anymore...crashing on startup in VR. Read in DCS forum. I'm one of the affected. No solution yet. Is going to take some time.
I’ll have a look at this one when I get my PC back setup
Might have to be a case of running it via SteamVR over Oculus for openXR
@@Yorickkinda yes, apparently SteamVR has no issue
I am finaly getting good in vtol. I cant imadgen how dificult this is. Sorry for my bad english
I love VTOL, I just wish it had more aircraft. And players actually
Ther is a new plain coming
Your were better off leaving the settings alone idk why you turned down in oculus you need it actually higher slightly like 1.1
This particular video was outdated once ED fixes issues with DLSS
With all those low res settings you made you got the CV1 picture quality, thats just nonsence. DLSS looks good only on flat screen, in VR it looks so bad....
lol Hey Stevie Wonder in VR lol Hold your head still so I can see the settings. ha ha honest I would do that too. lol funny your a head zoomer.
Hahaha, fair point, I always have a habit of moving around a lot
Oh wow I don't like your settings. Lol
Hey, take that back! They’re sensitive.
