I'm pretty sure Raptor has a strong PC but it seems to struggle nonetheless with this game. Dear developers, make a game that doesn't need a super computer to run.
so i installed the game and then removed it due to performance issue
his gpu is actually kind of meh, but it still seems to have performance problems.
Graphics are better than ever, but so are CPU's and especially GPU's, its not a graphics problem, its a optimization problem. Same issue with Hogwarts Legacy and Sons of the Forrest, both beautiful games but suffer from poor PC optimization. No way a PS5 or Series X should preform and look better than my PC.
@@rocksjoshua hogwarts legacy didnt have a single bug or lag in my entire playthrough at maximum graphics. I know many ppl that didnt have problems on pc either. Seems like the issue is with your pc or something but not the game. Havent played sons of forests tho i dont know about that

one thing i realized about this game is that if you dont make the essential things high priority they dont gather them as fast bcos they tend to gather everything at the same pace, so if u put lets say stones and straw on high priority they will gather those resources faster than the rest which helps, so it is important to use priority in this game

So I could be wrong, but based on some google map searching, it looks like you settled your group on Rio Ésera. I couldn’t find that weird river ramp at 18:20, but the land is probably generated by a mix of satellite mapping and topographical mapping. So it’s likely that there was an error in that area
In this time period, the Levant, Egypt, spain, and north Africa were much more green. They are using a modern map, which isn't accurate
nahhh not really, if you refer to Axial tilt cycle , 10000bc north Africa already a desert. in fact during 6000~8000 bc sahara even larger than today

Hello I'm a new follower so I might be missing some context, but advanced civilizations start in the fertile crescent (between the Euphrates and the Tigris Rivers). Can anyone tell me why the starting line is Western Europe instead of the fertile crescent?
whats more advanced than the British? They owned the world at one point before the decline.
That's quite archaic of a perspective. We are currently finding more and more evidence hinting at lost civilisations all over the world that were destroyed with the end of the ice age. And those were all over the globe. And the latter Indus and Chinese civilisations for which we do have significant data developed largely independent of those in the fertile crescent.

The game is very ambitious and it will be a great project if they get it right in a couple of years of patches (the game is still very unfinished right now).
dude this game has bin in development for 4 years now and it feels like a pre pre aplha with very little content..... yes im sure it will be a great game in 2085 iff they even stick with it because it isnt realy feasible to keep putting in money into an almost obscure unfinished game. I love the idea of this game bu this game failed like 2 years ago now its just on its deathrattle for a few more years before it fades into nothing.
Yeah for $40 this doesn't look nearly finished enough. It's a pass for me at this point. I'll follow it and see if maybe in a few years it's significantly better or I can get it at deep discount.

Have to go out to work shortly so I'll watch this later - but where would I build as my first choice? On the site of the present day city of Belfast. It's on an island so it's harder to invade, it's right next to a large lake with plenty of fish, there were loads of forest in ancient times, drought was almost unheard of and the land was very fertile.

I am Welsh, and it is a shame that we humans have got rid of our forest for sheep farming, etc. through the centuries. In one of the national parks, we have one of the few European temperate rainforest biomes. I can imagine that with the excessive rain we have, the rainforest would be all over the land. Large parts of Ireland also have the same rainfall as Wales, so I can imagine that it would have been the same.

I remember being hyped for this and becoming increasingly suspicious as development went on. All of those suspicions have been confirmed. It isn't enough for a game to be pretty, when it has bad mechanics, bad AI and is priced at more than twice its worth. I wish we had more variety of choice but Dawn of Man is superior in every way but graphics.

River don’t run well with me… water flows to the lowest point. The rivers are more like aqueducts. Hopefully devs work that out.

man i was on the original kickstarter. Feels like forever ago.
I was very interested in the game but the price tag doesn't match the product IMO. There a better games for better prices. They built this game engine from the ground up which was probably a mistake. I hope to see smoother animations and better FPS in the upcoming months and if they give it enough love, it could be a great game. Just my take from following the game.

It's called an Oxbow (The Notch you mentioned)
I'm not sure that's correct mate. An oxbow isn't a bend in the river, a bend is a meander. When the meander eventually erodes enough of the bank the river will then run straight and the meander then becomes separated from the main river flow and eventually forms a separate body of water called an oxbow lake. 👍

The game seems improved but the blurriness is off the charts I fill like I need glasses even sharpened to the max it is blurry 4 gigabytes seems low for a game like this. I believe it will run on my old 486 Pc. The graphics are too hard on my eyes.

I remember the first time I heard about this game.
I noticed that they were developing their own engine, despite having a single person working on code.
I immediately knew it was going to be a total failure.
looks very promising, but the steam reviews are pretty bad. Looks like the game still needs another 6 to 12 months of dev, balance, and QoL improvements. Hopefully they stick with the game that long, because i want to buy it, but not in it's current state unless its on a good sale.
If u dont wanna wait a week for construction just dont put so much buildings at start ;)

Yeah I would pass the game up. 40 hours in and the performance is terrible and the game balance is very rough. I was curious to see how raptor was going to start as so many people are having a hard time and the I got to the part where the devs game him a save game and im done watching.
@@JHolderman0 just so you know he didn’t use the save to play/start his game, he used it to show what is possible. So he started from nothing. With that said I backed it but haven’t played it at all. When I tried it was very frustrating. Hopefully they can bring it all together but it’s been a really slow development. Hopefully one day I can play it.
After my Farthest Frontier disappointment I am definitely not jumping into another prematurely. I think what ruined FF was the word "brutal" in there description. The devs had no clue how to make it brutal other then worthless inconsistent traders, spoon feeding you settlers, resource scarcity issues and the nonstop changing imbalance of everything else you had to deal with as they pivoted from one idea to the next in there attempt to keep it a "brutal" survival game.

Dawn of man was a half baked mess that got more frustrating as you played it. After watching a bunch of the UK's Time Team I learned its also quite inaccurate as far as settlement functions go. Don't understand why they added the later ages and changed it into a bad rts.
I liked Dawn of Man, I played one game but put 20 or so hours into one civilization before my society collapsed bcs I couldn't feed my large population lol
I want it to succeed, but the AI is broken
Never seen a game's shader system be so terrible, takes a long time to render the shaders on first load, then you get into game and it just stutters like crazy, doesnt matter if its on low or high setting. I got a Ryzen 9 5950x, 32GB ram @3200mhz and a Rog Strix 4080 OC edition lol. Roughly 35FPS on high, 50-60 on low. and just stuttering all over the place.
