- I do not Like the Island of Onigahsima. It is course and rough and it goes across the ocean to the main land. It is vast and Tiny at the same time, meaning that it is inconsistent and thus it is impossible to find its true size. Not to mention that even if Oda gave us its size it wouldn't make sense. Nothing about the island works!
Kaido being able to move the island in the sky would still have to produce energy in the petatons ranges tho

It didn't have to be extremely consistent but at the same time with the plethora of maps... the size of the island changing so much makes some feats or battles feel illogical to think about their strength
@@ewilliams685 because most authors don’t care about power scalers trying to detail pixels on a small page 💀 the “feats” or battles aren’t illogical because of it, this happens in damn near every manga (maybe more so in OP than some because of oda not being the best at paneling) but kids take it way too seriously and the Op haters use it as fuel to moan even more
@sharebear421 it isn't just about the authors. It's also about the reader enjoyment. Power scales care about it as well. And it isn't just kids or miniscule to some fans
But it's a battle shounen. All angels or pixels don't have to be perfect, but relative consistency in how things are depicted can be expected. Especially for battles.
And power scaling isn't always such a bad notion Especially when you have a series that is very battle heavy and title related ( world strongest man/ creature/ swordsman, power to destroy the world/ Island lifting/ continental splitting/ mountain cutting/ internal attack/ aura throwing with conq haki) all those things inherently invoke power scaling. So, when a major thing starts to feel inconsistent frequently, it can disrupt enjoyment in that aspect alone. Which is OK to point out.
@@ewilliams685 meh it’s a very niche group of people. The series aren’t catering to those that’s just how it is. Inconsistencies will always be there, and it’s an adventure manga first and foremost. Those who take it too seriously should maybe find other hobbies tbh if onigashima looks smaller one panel and larger the next that’s just the limitations of the medium of manga and the authors paneling. He’s more worried about conveying emotions and characters than satisfying power scalers and agenda/haters
If the author states someone has the power to destroy the world then they can, they obviously won’t because the series would end. If they say someone is the strongest swordsmen then they are, you don’t need to see it in action. Arthur dayne has been said to be the best swordsman who ever lived and we never see him (in the GoT books) and that’s totally fine

If they want powerscaling of certain things to hold consistently, they can feel that way. Also, no one is saying everything has to be shown perfectly, they want them to be shown reasonably true.
What I meant about the titles/ feats is that they build a power scale for the series inherently. So it isn't like powerscalers are reading Death Note and trying to power scale. OP is ALSO a shounen battle manga with MANY FIGHTS.
Why do we act as of power scaling or discussion on it should never happen. I agree that enjoyment shouldn't SOLELY be on powerscaling, BUT if you are discussing powerscaling, OP definitely has it issues. As can any other series and again it's OK to discuss that.

Well the problem is Oda is just trolling the fans about Power scaling in One Piece😂 he didn't really care that much abt the Power Scaling in his verse.
Also One Piece is weekly manga that didn't get many pages nowadays, so that's also the problem with calculating the pixel
I'm gonna agree with you as that island is so inconsistent when it comes to its scale.
In the road to laughtale, oda wrote that the shockwave for the attack traveled for 1000 miles, which is 1609.34km, which is insane for a fist that could be about 40km more or less produced that level of power and force. I love Oda, but the size inconsistencies are something i dont like and the inconsistencies in haki simoly because of plot is something im not happy with as well

It's insanely inconsistent. Ranges anywhere from building sized to country sized.
Doesnt range from building size. Most of it is showing off where kaido is making it seem small.

I encountered similar issues trying to calc the size of the Ark Maxim in Skypia; in one panel the entire length of the ship could be around 100 m long, then in other panels you could have the front deck alone (which isn’t even 1/4th the ships length) being over 50 m long.
You’re right that’s why I’m like he needs more staff to work this with he can’t do it all himself he needs to focus on consistently GOOD manga quality
