      Assuming you've never been:
      Antelope Canyon, Moki Dugway and Goblin Valley State Park.
      I also think you should check out Grand Teton and Yellowstone again. Last time I think you hit a weird season with all the wildfire smoke and animals generally laying low that time of year. 2 out of 3 hikes in Grand Teton last summer I saw a bear, and came across a herd of elk moving just before sunrise. It also doesn't hurt to get up earlier and get on the trails.
      Last comment, if you do a quick video tour of your hotel rooms just close the toilet lid. Noticed a few and it was open and it totally changes the vibe of the whole scene. My mom would be proud that I learned that.

    • @bryanhauer

      @@BillOzanne Hey Bill - Thanks for the comment! I actually just was in Page and had planned to do Antelope Canyon, but it was super cloudy and sprinkling the day I had planned to ended up just editing in the hotel room as they said I wouldn't see any of the light beams that day. Those are some good ideas for places though. I also agree that I'd love to hit Yellowstone and Grand Teton again and am sure I'll have better luck 👍🏻
      As for the hotel toilet... I've noticed that too a few times when editing an episode and funny thing is it's the hotel that left it up after cleaning and I'm usually pretty exhausted when getting into a hotel so just missed it, but will make a note going forward 😀
      Appreciate the comment!

    Bryan, I’m really digging the branding on your vehicle. It might look like a tight fit with all the gear in the back of the MY, but, when you consider what you’re carrying (ebike, mattress, Starlink, etc.), it’s amazing that you’re able to fit it all and yet still snooze in the back! Many of us are loyal viewers because of your lifestyle coverage and relaxed demeanor, which is a welcome change from the droning narcissists dotting the Tubescape. I look forward to your chapters over the next month and hope your subscriber count reaches that next level!

    @bryanhauer My TH-cam algorithm lost you for my feed until you popped again yesterday. Been spending all day while doing stuff around the house catching up on all I’ve missed in the last couple of months. Appreciate what you do. Wanted to share a great option to help with your mattress. I’ve had the exact same one now for about a year and love it as well. Something you should look into to is a backseat bivy. It is awesome. Stores small but it attaches to the child seat latches under the mattress and is then strapped over the headrests and it’s a canvas like material that spans the width of the seat and prevents your mattress and pillow from sagging or falling in the gap between the front seat backs and the top of the mattress. Highly recommended. I’m about to remove the airbags and big wheels from my Model Y and convert it over to more of an overlanding type setup and plan on getting out and camping a lot more once it’s done. Thanks again for the inspiration.

      No kidding! As fast as Tesla is adding chargers there's so many remote places on the way to very tourist heavy spots that are still left with no options. I know they're expanding quickly, but not quick enough. If I were Electrify America or ChargePoint which are the main EV charger competitors here in the states, I'd stop putting them in the same parking lots as Tesla and start serving these more remote areas and bill brand loyalty that way.

    Every time we've driven by those NFR roads on the way to Sedona we've never seen those gates open (not sure why?) but that is awesome you can stealth camp in the Tesla like that and stay perfectly comfortable in camp mode!

    • @bryanhauer
      @bryanhauer  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yeah, it's hit or miss on those. I think when I left one was still closed, but the other was open so who knows 🤷‍♂️
      I think the biggest feature for camping in a Tesla is the ability to keep yourself safe inside without having to open the windows (although fresh air is nice and will save energy) and just set the temp to whatever is comfortable regardless if it's cold and windy like when we camped in early spring in Valley of Fire or if it's summer in Las Vegas. I look forward to when a company releases a camper van or truck with a cab with "Camp Mode". That will be the holy grail. Being able to have heat or AC all day/night without having to have a huge separate solar/battery bank. While some say that's not camping... that's ok. I like sleeping well at night so I can go out and adventure all day.
      Hope you're doing well! Just watched your video from Bullhead City the other night near Laughlin. 👍🏻 Keep up the great work! I see those subs rising 😀

    Hi Bryan - have you used the Tesla Energy app yet? We used it during our trip and it was quite helpful for us to understand why we have more or less battery % left compared to the initial projection. It’s the green icon on your screen, just in case you haven’t used it yet. For us, driving faster than 70 mph was the main reason for ending up with less % than projected.

    • @bryanhauer
      @bryanhauer  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yep, sure have. Talked about it in a number of videos. I personally haven’t found it all that accurate or helpful. At this point I pretty much know what my car can and can’t do after so many trips. I know others that really love to use it though. I personally don’t find it that helpful as it shows how you’re using your energy, but I’m not going to alter any habits unless it’s an extreme circumstance where I won’t make it if I don’t and I’ve only had a couple scares so far.
      I view it as the car should perform better than my old ICE car and I just want to drive it and not worry about how aggressive I’m driving, elevation or climate using a bit more energy.

    I'm thinking about trading in my Subaru and getting into a Model Y LR or Performance... I was thinking about the idea of stealth camping at supercharging stations - just charge up, then unplug, pull out, and swing into a non-charging parking spot. was thinking it's probably a simple option and you'd likely be left alone since you're in a Tesla, surrounded by other Teslas. Thoughts on this?

      I’ve yet to stealth camp at a hotel but I’ve always thought … why not? Mid-range hotels don’t have lot security and there are people coming/going nearby, so it should be just as safe (if not more so) as any other place. FYI. It appears that the link for the widget pump that you used in the video is for a different pump. Is the widget pump worth it? Perhaps I should add it to the list before Summer travel commences. @@KenFTL Yeah I usually only stealth camp when it doesn't make sense to book a room like arriving late at night or prices are outrageous. If you have good window covers (like the Evannex ones I use) you'll never have a problem in a Tesla. People don't even expect anyone to be inside.
      As for the EXPED widget pump. Totally worth it!!! Even if you don't buy through my link, it's totally worth it cause it's a perfect fit and locks in so you don't have to hold it.
