I literally had that exact thought when I I started watching your channel. ‘When will he get his CyberTruck?” Although I’m from ireland, I’m planning to retire early, buy a Cybertruck and spend as long as I have left on this earth exploring the USA, Canada and South America. I’m a Model Y owner and a Tesla shareholder. I’ve sold motorcycles, Cars, R.V’s and a house to buy as many shares as I can. I spend every spare dollar on Tesla stock, I can’t wait until the last of my kids turn 18, after that I’m heading stateside! I’m stoked to find your channel and that of a few other Tesla campers. The Cybertruck will simply be a game changer!
@@commuterbranchline8132 Thanks so much! Glad you came across it and hope I can provide some value and entertainment 😀 Fingers crossed we get the Cybertruck later this year!
@@martinpugh9700 I previously looked at the NuCamp 400 Boondocks package. I've also looked at the BlackSeries campers, but need to see what the towing is like on the Cybertruck first.
Thanks! Yeah we had a ton of fun and Kaden's a fun/chill dude so was fun to sit around chatting camping, biking & TH-cam. Hope to get out on another adventure together sometime before the end of the summer 👍🏻 Thank you for tuning in 😀
Hey Brian my wife and I were on a road trip from June to December 2022 in our Land Rover Defender Offroad Camper. The Valley of Fire campground was one of our favorites in the entire US. We now also have a Tesla Model Y Performance. Unfortunately we had problems with the vehicle from the day of collection. Otherwise a really great car. We charge mainly with the photovoltaic system on our house roof. In summer we go on our first Tesla Road Trip to Greece. Thank you for your videos and best regards from Bavaria/Germany
I look forward to hearing about your upcoming trip this summer to Greece. I just returned from Germany and should have that video up next week so I think you'll want to tune into watch that one 😀
Hey man. I really enjoy your videos, been binge watching everything, so far i’m really impressed with the tesla and the scenery. All the love from Hong Kong
No doubt! Hope we can get out there and try another place sometime before the end of the summer. Maybe a Mt Charleston trip is in order once Vegas heats up. Thanks for cooking and sorry again about the skewers. 🤷♂️
Omg I want to try camping Valley of Fire and Mt Charleston too!! 60F seems pretty good now for Valley of Fire, last year I took the Tesla out there to hike after watching your video and it was super hot summer. Never been to Mt. Charleston, hopefully watch your video first lol. Never camped with the Tesla yet but can’t wait to try
@@flamecrow That's awesome! Yeah Valley of Fire is best visited in early spring or late fall or it's hot as hell. Mt Charleston is best in summer as it's in the 70's when it's over 100º in Vegas. 👍🏻
Good video. This is another place we will visit soon since my brother lives in Las Vegas. I will check your videos before next fall so we know where to try. I could spend the entire year visiting spots out there.
Awesome! Yeah, so many incredible places to visit out here. Valley of Fire is a must see, but best in spring or fall for sure. It's a scorcher during the summer. Appreciate you watching! 😀
Welcome! Thanks for coming by 😀 They're great vehicles for camping albeit small. The ability to just set the temp regardless of weather outside is my favorite feature.
Hi Bryan love your videos. I’ll be new to camping in my Model Y this year. I was wondering is it necessary to have a Jackery with me if I’m going to be plugged into an Rv outlet already. 0:330:33 I could just plug my Dometic fridge and other electronics into my car and run it the entire time correct? I appreciate any input you have. Thanks again for your awesome videos.
Thanks so much, Paul! No, you don't need a Jackery then if you plan to stay at campgrounds where you'll have access to electricity. I would only suggest it if you plan to camp fairly often and will be completely off-grid. That's when it's best. You can plug most of your devices into the USB-C plugs inside the car (I even charge my MacBook Pro with it) and of course can plug in your fridge etc into the 12v plug in the rear or front console. If you're at a campground where you can plug the car in you can just use the car to power most things and other more powerful items like an Airfryer can just be plugged into the electrical post at the campground. Hope that helps! Safe travels and feel free to ask as things come up. 👍🏻
@@bryanhauer thanks Bryan. Question came to mind when I saw your fridge plugged into Jackery in Bear Box. But that was an obvious situation. Keep up the great work👍
@@paulslick Yep. That was a rare situation due to being in Grizzly Bear Country so figured I'd just plug the fridge into the Jackery and put all my food in the bear box. I also don't think I had electrical hookups at that campground near Yellowstone.
Another fun one to watch! Thx for all your hard work Bryan! I heard you mention putting your bike back in the car. How hard is it to load it in the back? I don't think I would be able to lift one. I love your cargo carrier and even looked at the Yakima dual rack but it is too high and doesn't come with a ramp. I'll be attending Sea Otter Classic at end of month to try and figure it out a bike and possibly a solution for the rack.
Thanks Mika! For this one I did put the bike in the car, but it's just because I had just picked it up as I was testing and doing a review for a bike company. Typically I would put it on a bike rack or have a bike that folds up and can fit easily into the car. The Yakima EXO system like I have does have a bike rack addition, but unfortunately you can only put 160lbs on the hitch of the Model Y with a rack even though the tongue max iso 350lbs (something to do with torque). So in my case I wouldn't be able to use the cargo box and a bike rack and would have to choose one or the other. The eBikes are a bit heavier than traditional mountain bikes as well so something else to take into consideration.
@@bryanhauer Yes, that's the issue I'm trying to solve.... bike rack and cargo carrier. I don't want to put on roof for same reason you switched yours out in addition to me being vertically challenged. Supposedly Sea Otter Classic is the place to see all ebikes and carriers so we shall see.
I'll be first in line when they release the van. 👍🏻 They announced it's on their road map and showed a silhouette, but I'd imagine it'll be at least a few years till that happens as they're still getting caught up on getting Cybertruck launched later this year. I can't wait though 😀
That was probably quite a while back, but it doesn't. This one (EXO system from Yakima) is low enough that it doesn't interfere with Autopilot and still allows you to see out the back. It will block two of the four parking sensors on the back, but that hasn't been an issue. Here's a quick clip from a recent video where I'm backing up into a Supercharger (Note: Ignore the beeping as you can turn that off in settings): th-cam.com/video/uksUjlU5bjk/w-d-xo.html Due to it being so low it also has less wind hitting it resulting in even better range than expected. I'm only seeing a slight 5-10% range loss on avg.
I think I just leave it on auto/medium and then adjust the temp if needed. I do make sure that I have the rear fans blowing air and point them straight up.

What are those yellow things under the Tesla tires used for?
Those are parking leveling blocks so the car is level when sleeping.
Does your cargo box interfere with your autopilot? I thought you said that’s why you used the roof box a few videos back. Did you find a workaround?

Hi there. What battery does your car have? Is it a rwd with LFP battery?
Mine is a late April 2021 Model Y Long Range AWD with 2170 battery cells.
When your in cold weather what temp and fan speed do u use for camp mode for the night?
I think I just leave it on auto/medium and then adjust the temp if needed. I do make sure that I have the rear fans blowing air and point them straight up.
