I saw one of the creators of the show talk about how they auditioned Jake. He said Jake was just like he was in the show, a normal kid, who really had no interest in acting, and was more interested in what food they had than anything else. I would imagine that Jake's personality influenced the script.
Grandma: Deer...D E E R. Jake: What... W H A T. Grandma: What is wrong with him? If that does not make you laugh, then something is wrong with you. 😂😂😂
Two and a half men's still number one after all these yrs. Funniest sitcom ever! The chemistry between Sheen and Cryer is well amazing. The humor is classic. Charlie Sheen is in his element. Too bad he couldn't hold on to it.
This was the best sitcom ever! Hilarious! 🤣 One of my favorite episodes is the one where Jake sings Bohemian Rhapsody while Charlie is playing the piano 😆😆
Plus, those times were just amazing. The 2000's and 2010-12, were just legendary. A far less crazy world, there were awesome shows like Two and a Half Men. I am glad to have lived in those times.
Finally, an episode where everything is where it's supposed to be and not flipped horizontally for 'copyright' purposes..... the door to the porch is to the left of the fridge and the sink to the right.... And again.... Jon Cryer was superb in his role as Alan...... much underrated actor who can bring sarcasm like few can and his timing is perfect..... This was a great and funny episode with the will call and the 'Hot girl at twelve o' clock' Hey, he likes girls and he can tell time, I'm a happy dad'.... Sarcasm at its best... and then the 'There is pie?'' 🤣🤣
I was never into this show but I agree. The show went downhill went Jake became a teenager. He wasn't funny anymore. Also Alan becoming such a mooch in later seasons.
Honestly, I prefer young Jake. He wasn’t dumb, just naive. When he got bad grades, it’s wasn’t because it was too difficult for him, it just didn’t hold his interest. As he got older though, he just became more and more retarded. The jokes with young Jake were funny bc they forced you to think in an unconventional manner in order to understand how Jake’s adolescent mind works. As he got older, though, there was only the one joke: “Ha-ha, fat kid’s dumb and overeats.”
Didn't like how show writers converted him to a fool when grown up...whole character vibe could have been better... had he been smart and mischievous...
But who honestly didn't see it headed that way from day one? Cmon lol. That was his entire thing, do dumb things and make us laugh, like when he had the hat on that Charlie gave him and was making faces while they argued, oblivious as a mf to them
@@codykeith5144 that's the point...to make us laugh they played around with the character too much...rather than keeping character's own unique attributes...
While I get that it was the writers and their attempt to keep the same formula and vibe from the beginning, despite that he was growing up, I always assumed that the thematic reason was that he wasnt actually dumb, it's just Charlie's perspective and we're seeeing characterized versions of everyone, through his eyes. Kind of like how Alan wasn't as bad or cheap as we saw, he just overstayed his welcome and everything he did pushed Charlie over the edge.
What a coincidence, I have a French nephew just like Jake. The strange thing is that when he grew up, he landed a job as an engineer with an American firm.
Charlie Sheen can never be replaced! After Charlie left the show it ended! Never watched it with what's his name. Jon Cryer while good could never carry the show without Charlie. I watch reruns w Charlie on Peacock. Never get sick of Sheen
…”Drink, Gamble & Hump..!!” Lol 😂 ❤ ..Spoken like a true, red-blooded, American Man..! lol.. that’ll also eventually have a prob or 2 in the future but for now, it’s cute! lol 😂💜✌️👍
This was the funniest sitcom on tv - right up there with “Frazier”. It had me rolling with laughter. I always wondered how they (writers etc) got away with so much sexual content though. It was Very graphic a lot of the time. Plus Jake was just a kid & really should not have I. This show. He was a child comic genius though who seems to have grown up basically undamaged. I didn’t like it when Sheen got the boot & quit watching.
The writers of the show really messed up his character. He was such a great character initially, lazy, naive, a little dumb but actually quite smart and adorable. Then they just turned him into an overly dumb teenager and nothing else. He pretty much had no redeeming qualities in latter seasons. It's quite clear they didn't know what to do with him, which is really sad when you think of all the funny situations a smart teenager could have created between his dad and uncle. Such a missed opportunity...

Sounds like me when I was a kid 😂
Don't believe I would have told that Aaron
Didn't know that lol wow but that was probably the same for the rest of the cast
But unlike in the show Angus T. Jones was a straight A-student in real life.
When Jake plays with the hat it's a classic.
That's one of Angus's TOP 3 acting moments! 👌🏽
