Clients don't have any clue what they are doing. They expect to buy the design out from under you and use it exclusively forever for a fixed price and never pay royalties. They're idiots. And the nail in the coffin is that there are so many artists that are ok with this, which puts artists with a brain out of business.

Do you have a document of how you explain your Usage Terms to them to send virtually? Where do you keep everything stored? What kind of negotiations do you offer if they don't like the price? Sorry I'm starting to learn so I want to ask haha.

These are great questions, and we'll plan to continue to create content that addresses them!
We actually created "The Contract Kit" which has three contract templates for creatives to use when doing freelance, licensing, and work for hire. We worked with our attorney who specializes in working with creatives to put the contracts together and have an accompanying video that walks you through the terms. You can also check out "Price with Purpose" which has over 35 case studies from creatives, the prices they charged and project details, and accompanying videos that walk through how we price, and tips on negotiating. Hope this helps!

Can you do a video explaining what a budget is. I really get confused, is it related to what the client wants to spend, the whole of the project. Is your salary in the budget? What exactly is the budget?

Sure! The budget is how much the client has to spend on the project. You can propose a higher fee than the budget, and you both have room to negotiate.

It's sad when people don't value artists - we hope we can help educate and raise pricing standards across the industry!
