The reaction is genuine. You cried after drinking water.
Water is life at that point.
Just as fasting in our religion suggest.
One of the reasons of fasting, is to be able to u derstand how difficult it is for the poor to survive, on daily basis, when food is scarce and hard to obtain.
A cup of water can mean a great deal for them, just like how I chang experience, after a sip of water at break fasting.
Jimmy's learning to control himself and all, is very good.
Thank you guys. Bravo. Good job..

So bubur lambuk giveaway by local mosques surely "eratkan jalinan" among muslims & malaysians (regardless of their race & religion) alike 🙂.

When Ichang cried soon as she drank the water, I remembered my first experience fasting for the whole day as a child (Back when I was 8 years old), I told my mom I wanted to drink so badly because it was so hot that day. My mom told me, "It is up to you but if you can hold on until time to break the fast, you will remember this day for the rest of your life" And I did hold myself until time to break the fast. I cried like Ichang when I drank water that day and I do remember that day until now, just like what mom told me.

I remembered my first day of puasa too. I start puasa when I was 7. At that time, I don't remembered that I'm puasa. So I keep playing around at school. Then, when I want to drink, my teacher keep talking to me and my friends to distract us from early break fast. It's a success until I got home and my throat remind me that I'm thirsty. I ask my father and mother if I can drink because I was so thirsty. It's up to me to keep fasting or drink right now, but when Raya I can't get Duit Raya. Automatically I try my hardest to keep fasting till the break fast time. That was the first time I ever grateful to have somthing to drink and eat. Even if my intention at that time was money, it is my first step to keep fasting from beginning to the end. Puasa is hard but so worth it ❤

Ive learned that by fasting eventually it “resets” your body, lower your salt level , glucose level back to its normal and make you much more healthy as if youre on diet! So proud of you guys much respect Alhamdulillah..

Yay..you guys finished fasting for the day. 1st day is always the hardest. By 12pm usually the brain stop functioning and all thoughts would be focused on what to buy at bazar ramadhan. Actually the 1st week of ramadhan fasting you will feel the challenge of adjusting body habit to ramadhan schedule. but after entering the 2nd & 3rd week & so forth we already became adaptable to the usual routine of fasting. The challenge already lessen until the final day. Ramadhan fasting is WAJIB!/COMPULSORY FOR MUSLIM to COMPLETE 30days fasting no more no less. we can absence or left days in ramadhan with reasonable excuse like not being able to fast because of health issue or woman menstrual cycle is happening. But let say if we left out fasting for 10days in ramadhan, later after raya we must replace the 10days that we owed before the next upcoming new ramadhan. If not we will be in debt & sin to our ISLAM GOD ALLAH.

Congratulations iChang & Jimmy. You did it successfully. I was waiting for this. Tips when breaking fast: Don’t drink water too much. Just take a little bit of it and dates. Then we have a rest first and then we perform our Maghrib prayer. Then after the prayer, we eat the meals. Then we perform our Isyak and Teraweeh prayers.

I always enjoy watching your videos..Jimmy's antics are naturally hilarious 🤣😂 and i-chang's cool headedness and astute observation is therapeutic and motivating. By the way the food you've prepared i-chang looks very authentic and very tempting watching this early morning from Malaysia..Kudos to you 👏👍😁. Fasting is always difficult in the beginning for most people but you did it Alhamdulillah 😯👍. Congratulations 👏! You will find if you continue throughout the blessed month of Ramadhan , the body will feel better considering it has been put to "abuse" by excessive and unregulated food intake the remaining 11 months. And because some will overeat at Iftar, the extensive nightly prayers called Terawih/Teraweeh that we are encouraged to do in Ramadhan helps to lighten the body through the repeated physical movements as well as to sharpen the spiritual soul. On the spirutual aspect also, we use this whole month as "training ground" to refresh ourselves with all that has been prescribed for us in our religion eg be charitable, be at our best behaviour including controlling what we say and think and performing extra prayers at night as well as read and try to understand the message of the whole 600 + pages of the Quran at least once during the whole month. So that by the time we exit Ramadhan hopefully, the good habits and practices we've gone through would have been ingrained so we become better Muslims throughout the coming months. And the cycle of continous personal improvement will repeat itself again with the next Ramadhan.

Yeah, one of the morals of 'puasa' or fasting is for us to reflect on ourselves that we are able to afford foods and drinks compared to those who are less fortunate, that putting foods on their plates is a challenge for them. So we are able to empathize them.

We share the emotion felt by the poor and less privileged people. I have to agree with you two, even a sip of water becomes very delicious and precious after abstaining from water and food for hours. We do this as expression of gratefulness and appreciate all the sustenance we have from day to day. A month of fasting, and a one year cycle to remind us every year to express our thanks to the Creator, and feeling empathy for those who are suffering and facing difficulties.

Yup, in my head the reason why it is this way is also because of the placement of the sun. Afternoon is the hottest time of the day, so I'm guessing that's why rest time is allocated and recommended(qailulah). So work is done in the morning when it's not hot, and in the afternoon you're supposed to rest, then you prepare for dinner and night time is for sleeeeeeep and prayers

Well done to both of you! Good job! Here I share some lessons for those who are succeeded their fasting on Ramadan.
There are Two Joys of Fasting People
From Abu Hurairah, the Prophet said... For those who fast, there are two joys; joy when breaking the fast and joy when meeting God later…. (H.R. Muslim No : 1945) Status: Authentic Hadith
    Lesson:
    1. For fasting people, they will find joy when breaking the fast because they can eat and drink and get rid of hunger and thirst after holding it during the day.
    2. The second joy is when you can meet God later. It will only result from fasting done with full faith and sincerity, taking care of all conditions, wishes and hoping for God's pleasure. This is important for us to achieve true happiness in the afterlife with the reward of forgiveness.
    3. It's not just a feeling of pleasure after being hungry, i.e. not just being physically tired. But we also want spiritual blessings. Our relationship and bond with Allah SWT through our practices. Worship that really relies on sincerity and servitude in living it.
Make sure we are not only happy when breaking the fast. What is more important is the joy of meeting God in the hereafter.
Last but not least, happy enjoying our Muslim’s culture with pride and fruitful to ichang & Jimmy👏👏👏👏👏👍👍👍👍

I’ll keep breaking the barrier and the thirst will no longer set. It is just how our body react to water changes in our body. With the exception, if I do a hard workout which requiring me sweat much enough, then I will not be comfortable with that kind of thirst. While Breaking Fast, you must break it at an early time, like once it is past 'break' time, just straight up drinking water or eating dates without wasting time. And then you can eat normally. Because this is how Islam teaches us.
Sahur need to be late, while Breaking Fast need to be early.
Well it just make logical sense right?

haha I'm so happy see you guy doing fast. such a good experience. i believe you are have good deed. how to motivate yourself thru fasting so easy.
    1. just put yourself as poor people, it will gain you more motivated. as a muslim, fasting is bout think bout other people don't have food to feed. that why in ramadan month, most muslim shared/swap food with neighborhood. Like fasting, charity is another pillar of Islam and the Prophet urged Muslims to donate as much as one can to the poor during Ramadan.
    2. fasting good for health. according in Quran (muslim book) fasting will make body more health. A large body of evidence now supports the benefits of fasting. Even so, these findings are promising for humans. Essentially, fasting cleanses our body of toxins and forces cells into processes that are not usually stimulated when a steady stream of fuel from food is always present.
3.While fasting during Ramadan is mandatory for all Muslims, the Quran makes a few exceptions. Pregnant women, the elderly, menstruating women and those whose medical condition prevents them from fasting (for instance those who suffer from diabetes) are exempted from fasting. However, they are obligated to make up for their missed fasts, later when they are able to do so or they have the option to feed the poor.
    4. you guy crying when come to breakfast? it normal every poor people do the same. try to eat sweet like dates first. you feel the different.
    5. fasting teach us be more grateful and thankful. don't wasting food for nonsense, just remember other poor people don't have food to feed the family.
