  • Late last month, we visited Skid Row, Los Angeles, which has the highest concentration of people experiencing homelessness in the nation. We met some friendly Pit Bulls and their families, and we are always so amazed how socialized unhoused pets are, especially in this area. We came across Smokey and his pups, and were able to examine, vaccinate, and leave food and treats for everyone while enjoying some doggie kisses. When giving vaccines, it is funny how they always seem to hurt the pet parent more than the pet! We loved the smiles and how happy these pet parents were to see their “babies” getting some care.
During our Street Vet Work, our team provides the best care and education we can about pet health, prevention, spay/neuter, and more. If pets we meet like Smokey in this video ever need additional care, we stay in touch with pet parents to provide the treatment they may need after our visits. We think Smokey will be just fine, but thanks to our supporters (like you) we will be here if they ever need us! Thank you for your continued support of this mission.

What an amazing humanitarians you and your technicians are. Something you said resonated with me. You stated that dogs living on the street are some of the best adjusted and happy pets you have treated and I agree. I’ve been providing food etc. to so many pets over the years. I cannot tell you how many times people have said to me “they shouldn’t have pets.” I reply politely by saying “ really you think it is more humane to lock dogs in a crate for ten hours and walk them for fifteen minutes when you get home?” This to me is absolutely absurd, but it is the way of modern pet ownership. Keep up the good work you inspire me to keep going.

I love how when you told him he was a good boy. He looked right into the camera like.” I know I am.” ❤🐾

I absolutely love and appreciate what you do, but I wish you would neuter the dogs and cats, too. 😕
