Well done. I’ll be 80 in a few weeks and live in the mountains of North Carolina on a small farm. Beautiful life you’ve created. All the best in your journey, Will
Thank you for the story.. It's a nice change from the usual TH-cam sailing channels (don't get me started lol). I subscribed within the first few minutes! Watching this from Sydney Australia, on boat (26ft) as I get another batch of epoxy mixed! Doing EVERYTHING myself too, hard at times but very rewarding at the same time. Learning as I go. Former long time surfer, recreational/competition now finally returning to the ocean after too long. I'm sure you know what I mean! Please keep posting, looking forward to your journey as I undertake mine! Cheers,, Mark.
We have just done the same. renting my house out. had Misty, a 32 ft double ender (Aries, by Thomas Gilmer) we have been moored in Knysna South Africa for three years, upgrading an already solid blue water cruiser. not a fast one like yours. I'm 71 and my wife of 26 years standing is 50. I would not do this without her full enthusiasm and competence. she is the Captain what tipped us into liveaboard was the forced close of our business, Earthfire, because the main ingredient was mined in Zimbabwe and bought out by the Chinese! no more supply! so we intend to sail to Madagascar before June (tight) crutch problems now. Anyway, you did the right thing. this 'big house' thing is overrated. so we will follow what happens to you. Cheers Alex

Thanks for the comment! Let’s keep encouraging each other, this boat stuff isn’t for the lazy or complacent, but it is rewarding!

Why people call themselves artist? Big ego trip!
