Hi Tim, this is Vadim’s brother in law Andrew, remember when you reset the codes and fixed my headlight? Anyway, I’ve been dealing with a slightly jumpy 1-2 and 2-3 and I just wanted to say thank you for such informative videos. Your insight is greatly appreciated!
Thank you Zeiten for another great video. For anyone having the 1-2, 2-3 slip bump, take apart the valve body and install the Sonnax 144510-09K. There's these fluid pressure switches that blow causing irregular fluid flow through the transmission. Little plastic disks that GM thought was a good idea to put into a mechanical transmission
Bought a 2011 328i with the GM transmission. Noticed a shudder, went online and it’s fairly common on the 6L45. Had my tech do a drain and fill, gasket, filter, all genuine BMW. Added a tube of Instant Shudder and that was that. Transmission feels ridiculously good now. Super beefy. No shudder whatsoever! Good content bro! I saw on of your vids on a coolant leak ; about to pressure test it in a bit! Cheers!
Excellent video! Ive only done filter change and drain and fills for 190k miles. I will do full service with also pressure switch seals next time. Thank you!
Z-man another great video, this is almost perfect timing, I think I'm having pressure switch issues 🤦, I got the kit from Sonnax, the little round membrane pressure switches going to try and tackle this myself next week, have a Happy Thanksgiving z-man 👍
WOW! So Awesome Tim 👏👏👏 haven't done mine yet, but I will soon. What about clearing the "gear oil" code? Is there part 2 coming soon? Amazing content thank you for posting
Forgot to show it, but basically you’ll need a bi-directional scanner and there is a function to reset transmission oil wear. That’s it nothing special, no part 2 for that😂
Yes if you own a high mile bmw automatic which has an additional 4 quarts in the torque converter it's advised not to drain the oil from the converter a d to just change what's in the pan due to brand new fluid through the entire automatic transmission will cause slipping if we change the converter be prepared for a complete rebuild of trans might as well add in all new solinoids I'm getting ready to buy a used gla 6speed? $800 all day then will do a complete rebuild for power thinking of adding a high stall torque converter
@ accelerating from 0 to 30-40mph, at around 2000rpm, when it changes from maybe 3rd to 4th, or 4th to 5th, it shudders like the gear is too low, if I drop it down a gear with the shift paddles, it’s ok again. It’s been getting worse over time. Does that help?
You can after removal of valve body there are ports where you can apply compressed air and it will push more fluid out, in my experience it’s not necessary as long as you service transmission regularly about every 60k miles depending on where you are
@ i bought the car with 67,423 miles on it and i dnt believe the previous owner did transmission service, the car have now 68,568 miles and it has a code telling me it needs service,i have the Carly scanner.
Thanks!

Good advice, zf actually has the same thing they absorb pressure and when they wear out 2-1 bump happens
Thanks gonna give it a go.

Great content I had no idea the valve body needs to be changed if a solinoid goes out sheeesh thank you
Unfortunately that’s a fact🤷♂️
Man I have been waiting for this type of video. But made me realize, its hell to change it and I have to think real hard if I want to tackle it.🙃
😁 it’s not too difficult but it’s definitely a messy job😁

Informative - thank you, Hoss!

@@Zeiten no 2 part meltdown 😭
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Thank You!
Hi Zeiten! Thanks for this brilliant video. How much do you charge for this service?
Could you do a video replacing front wheel bearings on an Xdrive e90?
Yes if you own a high mile bmw automatic which has an additional 4 quarts in the torque converter it's advised not to drain the oil from the converter a d to just change what's in the pan due to brand new fluid through the entire automatic transmission will cause slipping if we change the converter be prepared for a complete rebuild of trans might as well add in all new solinoids I'm getting ready to buy a used gla 6speed? $800 all day then will do a complete rebuild for power thinking of adding a high stall torque converter
Funny that the "GM" valve body casting has "AISIN" written on it. Almost as sacrilege as putting "GM" transmission in BMW. 😂
I have 2007 328xi 6speed manual with metal trans pan any idea what transmission I have
Over time I have been getting increasing amounts of shudder when accelerating, like its in too low gear when its actually not. 2010 e92. Any ideas?
Where do you feel it? Describe it more, could be driveshaft center support bearing
@SamT_RV whats the mileage? Have you ever done transmission service?
@@Zeiten 95k. Transmission was serviced 1 year ago.
@SamT_RV torque converter is a possibility, also could be engine related and I wouldn’t rule out driveshaft center support bearing
if you are not replacing the mechatronic sleeve can you leave it there while you take out the valve body?
No, it must be removed in order to remove valve body
@@Zeiten thanks boss
Question? Do you recommend a additive for the trans if your only changing the pan oil
Additives are a wild card in my opinion i wouldn’t do it
What if the mechatronic sleeve is in correct but the tab still doesn’t go in. Even with sleeve off it doesn’t budge
Reuse old one, can transfer o-rings from new sleeve, if it was on before it will fit
@ tried that, The clip still won’t click in. Does that mean I replaced the shifter part wrong?
@0k.Jay_ no, it means mechatronic sleeve is not sitting properly that’s it
@@Zeiten thank you🙏 I will try at it again. Love these videos, Beamer Boys need you out here bro!
@0k.Jay_ doing my best😁
Do you recommend draining the stall converter or is there such thing as draining the stall converter ?

@CarlosCarlos-2018 do the service
How can I join the membership? Thank you
There is a membership tab on channel’s home page and also a link in this video’s description
Thanks 😊
🙌
Hi, is it ok to reuse the pan and valve body bolts or are they just one time use only? Thanks
Yes it’s totally fine
@@Zeiten Many thanks Tim!
Anytime 👍
