Great Deepu. Excellent presentation of Bilahari. Well expained and very informative. Thank you🙏
🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
There are some songs which I have been very strongly relating to their ragas. I identify ragas of a song from
the similarities between that song and the corresponding standard yardstick song in my mind for that raga. I know this method is highly unscientific from the point of view of classical music. But, since untrained I am in classical music, this seems to be the only available option for me.
For Bilahari the yardstick songs are “priyathamaa priyathamaa pranaya lekhanam engane ..,” an Jananee jananee … jagathjananee . I am so much excited to see that you have used these songs in the video to explain the raga Bilahari.
Generally there was a belief that film songs are light and it is easy to sing them. The rules of grammar in the composition of film songs may be loose . But singing becomes tough because there isn’t any freedom to
do manodhrmam while singing.
I said the above point only for just telling the fellow viewers of your channel that the task at your hand is not as simple as it appears. You are singing the film songs as well as those from classical music without flouting their respective grammar oriented stipulations and without losing even an iota of their charms.
Which are the next ragas that you are going to do the description of?
