If I ever encounter one of these folks claiming I have their iPhone in my house, I’m just gonna say “ok, I’ll call the police and give them consent to search my house for your iPhone”. Seems like a brand new scam going around. Or a trick to gain entry for potential robbery.
Exactly! He's got someone else hovering close by, and Mr. I Lost My Phone Supposedly has these giant ears and yet he can't hear (any more than he could find a comb!) and he's close enough to the camera for a "first kiss". GET LOST!!!
You aren't real bright are you? Giving the police permission to search your House under any circumstances is beyond stupid
Plus, who goes looking for their phone at 2:30 am?
You didn't hear him say they prob turned it off when he was walking away ? Not everything is a scam my niece loss her iPhone & the same thing happened it was saying it was at a house that it wasn't then she ended up finding it the next day a couple miles away from where it said it was.../ also that's apples fault cause this stuff happens all the time I remember a viral video on Facebook going around this lady had accused this black guy for having her sons phone in his car at a Walmart parking lot cause the find my phone app was telling her that's where the phone was & she was yelling at him cursing at him & saying all types of messed up stuff after he kept saying he didn't have it ; well the police ending up coming he told them they can look in his car he emptied his pockets & he didn't have it so they let him go & he walked into the store & the lady kept saying stuff to him well 5mins later her son comes back from their car & said mom I found it ;it was under the seat 😂 at that time the black guy was coming out from what he got in the store & the police told him they found it & then he went up to the lady asking if she could apologize for all the mean s**t she said to him & her nasty pride & shame got in the way & she refused too which is crazy but yea anywayz the iPhone was wrong again so it doesn't surprise me at all that all these different videos are coming out where the map is telling people the wrong location for the loss phone
@@kathaquaI'm sorry but if I was out & I loss my phone I don't care how late it is I'm gonna try & track it; I might not go & ring the doorbell at 2am but I dam sure would look around outside for a min or two & then I prob would go back the next day in the afternoon or something i got way to much important stuff on my phone to not try looking everywhere for it
Here's a tip for "MY PHONE IS PINGING AT THIS ADDRESS" Scam. Tell the scammer to call the police and have an officer come here to verify that the pinging is correct. I bet that would be the end of that conversation. Always record!!!
I was thinking the same thing. Anytime a perp is up to something, calling cops will always end it.
Yeah, it's best to call the cops, arm yourself, and wait for the cops to arrive. They can then explain their "lost phone" scam to the cops.
That's just common sense. If you know the location of your stolen iPhone, you call the police to meet you at the location. I can see about knocking first, as maybe the person picked it up and planned to drop it off at a police station. But if they say no, but find that your phone is definitely pinging from their location, you call the cops. If the individual instead continues to insist that you open the door, it's a set up.

in all these "phone tracking" videos the people take off as soon as the homeowner says theyre calling the police
but if you really were missing a phone wouldnt you also want the police there to help verify the location?

He definitely seemed unaware of the danger level till it happened and he yelled. My mother regularly will get home from work and call me to come see her in especially in winter when it's dark by the time she gets home. You just never know anymore these days 😔

Why do they think their lost phone is someone else's problem. Even if I found a phone waking me up in the middle of the night won't get it back.
What would you do with a phone that you found?
@@jpjp3873 if I found the phone at the mall or store I would take it to customer service or the security desk. If it was found anywhere else, it'll drop it at the nearest police station.
But the issue is you don't show up at someone's house in the middle of the night because you've tracked your phone to that address.

There are a new breed of crooks who aren't afraid of car alarms or making noises trying to break a window who are very brazen. And yet, where is the owner of that car? And why didn't anybody else see this happening and call the cops? It makes me so angry that in a country of over 330 million ppl and yet nobody is around to see this in progress.

Everyone always assumes somebody else's contacted somebody a woman stabbed to death 1964 in broad daylight and it had over 27 witnesses I'm pretty sure her name was Kitty everybody assumed somebody else called the police called. That's why they say if you see something do something.

Iphones giving out bogus addresses for missing phones is a real thing. There's a video of multiple people throughout the day/week/month going to the same house asking the homeowner for their phone. Is entertaining and you know it's got to be highly frustrating for the homeowners..if not dangerous.

I totally agree, the technology is pretty reliable, but I also think thugs are using this as a pretense to force entry, home invasion. Wasn't it like 2am? They looked pretty shady too. I would suggest people (if they are not in fact the thieves) tell the person they will contact the police and have it sorted out, NEVER answer your door to unannounced (no appointment) strangers. I have a feeling if they had done this, those dudes would have bounced or made some bullshit excuse.
