There must be a million photographers on here who start the blog off with " Hello I am a Landscape Photographer" but we are all one of those in one way or another, so it was good to hear a different slant on the title and someone who is just being a photographer out looking for pictures! You done well with the salvage job on the farm machinery, and I like the tin man, nice one and thanks for sharing your shoot with us!
Hi Ralph, I enjoyed the video this week, it seems you can get interesting thing to photograph when you walk around closer to home rather than travelling miles for landscapes I like the tin man on the roof, have a good week.
Glad you enjoyed it. Yes, I like this style of photography, it makes you look at things differently and that's always good. Thank you for watching and commenting
Really good video Ralph, it is fun going out and about photographing what you like and the unusual. Great capture of the Tinman really captured the imagination. The spider looked good nice image. 👍👌👏
Interesting video. I have been following a Spanish photographer, Adrian Vila who specialises in B&W but has a similar approach in spotting unusual images in his home town. I have found a new (to me) technique in converting my raw images to B&W. Using masks, I selectively change colours in the image to get better contrast. Some images end up with an infra red feel. It's a technique that can help in difficult light. Anyway, thanks for another interesting video.
Glad you enjoyed the video. The B&W technique sounds interesting. I wonder how it would compare to using the B&W mix sliders (which is what I do mostly). Maybe something to have a play with another time. Thank you for watching and commenting
Something like that 🤣. Thank you for watching and commenting

Another interesting photography video Ralph and like you said still very hot during the day. Love the first photo, now that's unusual but great capture. Nice work with the edit and I think, saved the photo. Got some great shots and love the cat at the end. Many thanks for sharing your work and have a great week.
Glad you enjoyed it Shaun, the 'saved' image was never going to be great but an interesting exercise. Thank you for watching and commenting and have a great week yourself
Trying to find different subjects rather than the traditional landscape photography subjects is very healthy Ralph. Non obvious subjects make usually very impactful images. Really loved the spider and the cat, excellent subjects. As for the mistake with the fast shutter speed and high ISO, this is something that I do all the time, even after two decades of photography. Maybe too much focusing at the moment rather than the technical aspects. But as you mentioned, sometimes software can work miracles in saving a shot. Thanks for sharing!!
Glad you liked the images Thanos, I always enjoy finding different things to shoot. The high ISO thing is still a bit of a mystery as to how I managed to do it but an interesting exercise on what can be achieved in 'recovery' with software. Thank you for watching and commenting
I am doing the same Ralph, going out during the day and shooting what interests me rather than conforming to the photographic norms of sunrise and sunset. Enjoying the journey even more now I have switched to micro four thirds, the lighter weight and smaller size is wonderful. Another great video really enjoyed it.👍
I'm glad you enjoyed it and I think it's important to do whatever feels right, even if it's not what the conventional wisdom says you should do. Thank you for watching and commenting
Enjoyed this. I especially love the colors on that old house. Thanks for sharing! Yeah, I made a whopper mistake today. The carpenter's saying of measuring twice before you cut still holds true. While I wasn't cutting something I still needed to make a good measurement which I didn't. I've also done what you did, get a high ISO. Only thing I can figure is that I had the shutter speed high for a shot and forgot to check it when taking a pic of something else. Glad you were able to make something usable.
Glad you liked it Patty. Just goes to show, we can all make mistakes even if we've been practicing for years. It is remarkable what some software can do to 'rescue' such images. Thank you for watching and commenting
Some very unusual images mate, really liked the derelict building images, and the spider images was really good, like you not a fan of spiders really. 😂

I'm glad you liked it. I try not to let labels define what I do. Thank you for watching and commenting

A wonderful collection of unusual images, Ralph I like the tin man and that spider looked menacing.
Glad you enjoyed them Darren. The spider harmless (wasp spider) but I still wouldn't get too close. Thank you for watching and commenting
