WoW Midnight will be our next adventure after the war within and we believe we know who is the next big villain to be revealed! After seeing the lightforged gorehowl axe over at the chinese re-release of the wow servers, our speculation engines starting pumping and it all kind of falls into place. Let’s see what can we expect!

Is Yrel's "dark secret" that she is the daughter of Kil'jaeden or Archimonde? Since the Legion failed in the alternate timeline to corrupt Draenor, then it is the Light that corrupts it and Yrel is the Light's harbinger.
I like the idea of Yrel having lied to us the whole time and being Xal'atath of the light all along but only if it happens in like 5 expansions from now... Beating void and light back to back feels rushed
Sir Zeliek (if I recall correctly the name) was a resurrected paladin and one of the four knights in Naxxramas. So strong in the Light that it responded to him even in undeath. Canonically there's no problem.
I just wish devs will add an intro sequence specific for undead paladins, declaiming how special and unique they are (even if there will be thousands of them after they are implemented).
Waiting for Tauren or Orc evoker, like Hulk to clap the hands to jump

I've been saying ever since Blizz announced expanded race/class combos, that the main new Paladin races should be:
Alliance:
Night Elf - Because it's already established in the Paladin Order Hall campaign in Legion that Night Elves can become Paladins.
Kul Tirans - Because they're just Humans with closer Vrykul heritage.
Horde:
Mag'Har Orcs - Yes, their history with Y'rel would be a big "no" to that. However, we already have evidence that some are already light infused (glowy, yellow eyes) and one doesn't have to trust Y'rel to still follow the light itself.
There could be others as well, but these were the key ones that I thought of.
All I can think is "My destiny is my own!"

i just dont like the multiverse bullshit we had with WoD. it's such an asspull and makes you ask: why would they bother to get a gul'dan from another universe to give the burning legion an entrance to that universe if they could just bring 5 kil'jaedens or whatever.. while yrel herself is a cool character and a potential "hey look, the light is a villain of some sort as well" topic, i dont think she can carry another expansion story-wise. maybe a patch, but like i said, blizz best doesnt touch the multiverse thing again. there are enough redcons as is
WOD was a walking advertisement for the Warcraft movie.

@@schippes24 sure, book rise of the horde, draenor, guldan, kil'jaedan, nathrezim, sargeras, all of that happened before vanilla WoW. nerzhul wanted to conquer all worlds for the horde together with teron gorefiend.
The WoD website included "a dark secret" on Yrel's description. This was removed and probably abandoned along with her romantic relationship with Maraad.
"Yrel is not an artifact weapon" should be on a coffee mug
The Maghar orc campaign is basically the amount of xalatath that we’ve had up until end of DF and TWW
I am praying they add more Alliance options for Paladins if this speculation turns out to be true and Horde ends up getting Orc/Undead Paladins.
But also some more Shaman Alliance races and better customizations! It sucks having cool chest pieces but playing a Dwarf/DID Shaman and not being able to see half of my transmog, maybe an option to hide the beard or just hide it with more Mail helmets?
I super hyped for this expac just based on the color theme and name. Just feels good

In all the timelines, there is only one timeline where Garrosh is evil. Garrosh is the best hero believed to be the best hero is multiple timelines are considered. We got the one where he was bad.

I thought Garrosh used Gorehowl in the Mok'gora with Thrall in WoD? Or was that Grommash's from that timeline? If it was, than the OG Gorehowl should be where he dropped it during the SoO raid, unless someone picked it up.
The Light in WoW has always had a Fanatical/Authoritarian side.
The Zealots of the Scarlet Crusade are still Light-wielding Paladins.
Whitemane even canonically Resurrects someone *"Arise my Champion. At your side my Lady."* - True-Resurrection is a rare feat in WoW, usually requiring the efforts of an entire team of high-ranking Priests or a proper Miracle from the likes of Anduin.
The Scarlet Crusade are one of the most basic, intrinsic "Evils" of WoW, they're basically the Foot Soldiers from TMNT - generic evil goons.
If the evil foot-soldiers of WoW can wield the Light just as effectively as Anduin, then what does that say about "The Light's" moral-compass?
As the saying goes: **"The most brilliant Light casts the deepest Shadow."**
I am a harcore Paladin Main and have been a WoW Lore-Nerd since Warcraft 2, and I never once thought that the Light was purely Good. Just look at the Knight's icon from Warcraft 2 - The guy looks overwhelmingly SMUG, like a Militaristic-Male-"Karen".
It looks to me like the story will move towards the void starting to invade for real and consuming Azeroth.
In desperation, the heroes of Azeroth, probably spearheaded by Tyraleon, will seek the lightforged in alternate Draenor.
Yrel being the leader will accept, but also desires to infuse and turn the denizens of Azeroth into beings of light.
Just guessing here, but I could imagine that the conclusion will be that we then have to fight back Yrel. It will be this look into the balance of the cosmic forces.
... Or I could be completely wrong. I don't know anything about WW and the story therein, just spitballing here, based on what Metzen and Blizzard in general likes to do with their stories.
Xal'atath has been around way longer than just Legion and BFA. This has been culminating for almost the entirety of WoW Lore. Bellular has a good video on Xal'atath lore.

Orc paladins actually make a lot of sense . Especially if you only view the classes of priest and paladin as classes that are attached to gods . Especially since orcs are an honor bound race . Paladins with there oaths , vows and seals plays well with orcs . Agreed do not see them using holy much but def ret and prot fall under them . Then when it comes to holy , I don’t think the light or void should be race locked . I feel like that’s something everyone has access to because more that use it more control of it .
Also I believe wow needs to evolve out of the stagnant troupe of race locked classes .into more of RPG based game options. Everyone is the same . Making immersion go up another level .

I don't think this will happen until The Last Titan expansion. I think midnight will be the culmination of the void story arc, and then The Last Titan will be the expansion to deal with the light
Maybe Yrell is NOT carzy but got tricked into invading other timelines as a pure beleaving and she invading our Timeline but she saw us, the people who helped her to gain controll of her own life and she overthinks the invasion real quick. But i guess we will see her as a crazy one untill she snaps out of that.

During the Mag orc quest she already turning evil currently in Lore and the quest she was Forcing Orcs to become Lightforged or get be killed by her army

its too similar to Whitemane and the Scarlet Crusade...if anything, they should bring them back with Turalyon or a long lost/resurrected leader not named Whitemane since shes a DK now

Undead paly? Why not, palys are a mix of warrior & priests... and arthas killed alot of paladins maybe there are some dead ones in lordaeron who just need calia to wake them up 😂

Why not both: illan and new class + race combo? I like orcs paladins same as dranei warlocks or tauren rogues or oid elf holy priests... Blizz not care about lore anymore why should we limit players options by it?

Gave up caring about race/class combos. Blizz don't care, and a good amount of players seem to want it. Every race can be every class. No flavor, no lore. Fuck it.
I always wished blizz would lean *more* into race/class specificity, but it's clear that ship sailed long ago.

If a race can be a a priest it does not correlate that they can be paladins, it is not how the Light usage for these classes works lore-wise.
Paladins are infused with it, unlike the Priests. This is what the cringers calling for undead paladins do not understand and keep naming that one singular guy from vanilla who actually lives in extreme agony because of that (doubt that he is actually alive anymore).
Knowing blizzard they will retcon whatever and just make everything a possibility thus making it all a grey mish-mashed sludge without any flavour.

It can happen, due to Blizzard's concept that nothing is good and nothing is bad, the light does not care who is its bearer, an orc paladin sounds horrible if it does not make sense, but hey we have tauren rogue xD
Now Yrel, I agree with you, she has to be tough, a very tough paladin, since we already have to accept that tough men in wow will never come again, well it's up to women to take the role, because that's about heroes in the style of Varian Wyrnn or Volji or Garrosh, forget about that

Yrel comes in the midnight of the 0.2 patch, maybe
we defeat their armies, the possible remnants of which could consist of lightbound orcs under the leadership of AU Garrosh, then some quests which lead to them becoming an allied race. Neutral or on the Alliance, mainly here because I don't think they can get along with the mag'har orcs in the Horde unless all the remaining ones were brainwashed, there are problems with the Alliance too but it could work better. I would also explain orc paladins
