I highly doubt at this point Xal'atath would end up also just warning us for the void and actually wanting to help, she basically is the one we were warned about. From the very first trolls turning into night elves from getting some order magic, to the high elves turning to the light, to the blood elves enjoying some fel and getting sharper features and fel-influenced eye/hair shades, to the void elves drinkin that sweet shadowy grape juice. There's also the san'layn and dark rangers (Death magc), and there's even ones who converted to fire and sided with fyrakk. I just started and I'm kind of excited to explore all of this. Retail is very overwhelming but this video was very helpful to let me know what's up. I also think it's fantastic we finally get to see some of the depth of the narubians. They've been trying to express them for four or five expansions. It'll be cool to see it in the flesh
considering that argus also cried out to alleria and thyrallion when the titans used him to revive demons i think its fair to say its the real voice of the world soul and not a trick. "a thousand years of war" Audiobook explains alot about worldsouls, light and void
They're not those Arathi. They took the best and brightest from stromgarde and silvermoon, and left for another continent. They don't even consider themselves human or elves anymore, they see themselves as their own unique race, "Arathi". And they have no particular hate for trolls because they weren't involved in the troll wars. But they do appear to be xenophobic and think all races are lesser.
Can't wait for Xal'ataths redemption arc. Some shit like she is actually tired of serving the Void Lords, or it isn't actually her fault because she is bound or enslaved by the void lords, and we only win because she gives us a chance at the very last second to save our world. Yaaay
If she doesn't 100% confirmed kill -redacted- at the start of TWW, then yeah, expect her to not be the actual villain. If this is the case, I hope Xal'atath is similar to Minthara from BG3, in that she remains pragmatic/evil-leaning.
haaaa thx! Great video! I really had a rough time to understand all the story between those two (Alleria and Xal'Atah - i really enjoy the dynamics between them)
Xal'atath is definitely the shadowy figure that has been showing up in SoD, offering players void crafting recipies in exchange for void infused items.
Just slightly off topic of the video (great vid btw, really helps my understanding), but can we talk about how incredible the Trailer for War Within is? Like, omg, CGI is so advanced now. Anduin looks like an actual human person, to the point my grandparents thought it was an actual live video, and Thrall looks Real! Like, that's insane!
Not to be that guy, but it's commonly believed that azeroth's world soul isn't a titan but its own thing, that an argus situation is the a similar process of some outside force corrupting it into their image. In argus's case we got a titan forged with fel and undeath, but azeroth has been stewing in arcane energies placed there by the titans for millions of years. The thing that comes out of it might not even end up a titan if they win, but something more powerful.
"commonly believed" by literally nobody in-lore, canonically. that is a player/content creator headcanon theory. And it's not a bad theory at all, but as far as anyone in-game or in-lore texts outside the game is concerned, the theory isn't a thing. Sargaras, Argus and Azeroth, are all just titans. In fact, I'd argue the majority of the playerbase just takes the in-game dialogue at face value and has no idea about the content creators who think Azeroth might be a first one or that world souls are cosmic force agnostic before being claimed. That's all off in pyromancer/accolonn woo woo speculation land. It is not a common belief.
@@DarkScreamGames It would be a shame if, say for the sake of argument, the War Within added a quest called "Archives: The First Disc" which confirmed this theory and followed up on a book from dragonflight called "Keeper Tyr's progress reports" which teased that this would be the case. Yes, characters in lore who are flawed narrators may have believed that a world soul = a titan baby, but they only had the information that they could gather from the titans. The titans, by the way, frame the narrative to suit there goals, a fact we explored in dragonflight with keeper Tyr.
loved your commentary in this video LOL. I thought the top line out of the whole thing was "if you don't know who Jaina and Thrall are, eh.. how did you even find this video"
Sargeras wasn’t corrupted. Being the strongest titan, his responsibility was fighting. Through his fights with demons that kept coming back, and seeing all the worlds that the void had destroyed, he began to understand the threat. He warned his titan brothers, but they rejected his warnings. Only sargeras understood. He understood what would happen to the universe if the void took control of Azeroth. If his brothers were too weak to fight, he knew that they would stand no chance. So his he believed that they needed to destroy Azeroth before it’s too late. Sargeras is a grey character.
i’m so excited man. while some prefer endgame, my favorite part of WoW is reading all the quests and playing through all the zones. it truly feels like an adventure and i can’t WAIT to explore the new ones
Correction: WoW's lore doesn't matter since the end of WOTLK. The "modern" WoW is trash and it should be viewed as nothing else but a corrupted undead shell of what it once was.
I need to know how there ended up being Nerubians down in the south corner of Azeroth! Been thinking about this since the announcement but maybe iv missed something.
4:45 The one that was controlling Anduin was Arthas himself. Your boy was just sitting in the back seat of his own body. 7:39 that was no Void elf but a blood elf occultist. When it took over her body, some changes were done to it. She is no void elf.
I really wish we could got vereesa windrunner as the "leader of Dalaran" for this period after Khadgar, and maybe having Dagran (Alliance), Durak (Horde) and Giramar and Galadin (Vereesa sons and neutral as for Dalaran) as the low profile characters, like Pippin and Merry, that help you in some secondary quests. After all, Anduin could only be the character he is today by having some space to GROW in minor quests and secondary ones. I really wish WoW perceived how much room they have to bring out this smaller characters (the new generation) and let them take more space in the narrative. Anduin is the literal proof of that
World of Warcraft can have some good and bad writing from time to time. Here’s a list. Good writing Classic Burning Crusade Wrath of the Lich King Legion Ok writing Cataclysm Mists of Pandaria Dragonflight Bad writing Warlords of Draenor Battle for Azeroth Shadow Lands I’m hoping that the World Soul Trilogy will be on the Good Writing tier. Unless the Last Titan falls under the third installment curse that have plagued so many forms of media such as Dead Space 3, God Father 3, Spider Man 3, X-Men the Last Stand, Aliens 3, Final Fantasy 13 Lightning Returns and Blade Trinity.
Idk about classic and TBC being good writing, they essentially just threw around named characters for players to kill left and right, like warcraft 3 had great writing but they kind of threw a lot of that away especially in TBC. Illidan being a key example where they wewrite someone who was essentially an anti-hero into just being a villain so players can get warglaives. Dimensius, Murmur, and other threats on outland had lore talking about how they were basically some of the strongest things in the universe and we kill them in dungeon/questing. Like they didnt really do anything with that much foresight and things that were setup were kind of thrown away, taking until legion to do Illidan the justice he deserved
Wotllk is good writing? shit, bro the nostalgia goggles are a little too tight on this one. Turning Arthas into a Dr. Claw-tier Cartoon villain aside, you wack af for that one.
@@notthewater Yeah, what Burning Crusade did to Illidan was sort of the lower points of this expansion. But Legion did a much better job with Illidan's character and gave him a much better character arc.
Even weirder. The expansions play out during 1 year of in-world time, but they take two real-life years to happen. So all of wow has been in half speed, or is it double speed? idk, but you get my point. The 1 year per expansion thing isn't 100% accurate, but most of them follow that pattern. DF took place during two years and I think they're planning to have future expansions follow real-life time more as well.

I'm curious as to why Arathi troll slaying warriors went underground so deep.
I'm sure huge lore will play out about how the Arathi with pointy ears ended up battling off spiders instead of trolls in the next expansion.
They're not those Arathi. They took the best and brightest from stromgarde and silvermoon, and left for another continent. They don't even consider themselves human or elves anymore, they see themselves as their own unique race, "Arathi". And they have no particular hate for trolls because they weren't involved in the troll wars. But they do appear to be xenophobic and think all races are lesser.
becasue they have Emperor of Light
The isle of Dorne you say?
I hope it is sufficiently fortified.
This is funny to me.
The Praetorian of Terra approves of this.
No.
the man of a true culture...
good old Rogal Dorn xD
Dorne? you mean game of thrones?
Can't wait for Xal'ataths redemption arc. Some shit like she is actually tired of serving the Void Lords, or it isn't actually her fault because she is bound or enslaved by the void lords, and we only win because she gives us a chance at the very last second to save our world. Yaaay
...and the conga line continues...
Or it was never a villain arc and always a manipulation arc but you right, its blizzard so itll prob be mid at best.
Plot twist: she was serving THE JAILER
To give them some credit, I am pretty sure that they also know it was shit.
I really had a rough time to understand all the story between those two (Alleria and Xal'Atah - i really enjoy the dynamics between them)
9:45 The only reason I'm excited to play. The armor looks sick.
Am I the only one that wants to side with Xal'atath for the power she promised me in legion.
Y’all have a great way of presenting stuff man - loved the xalatath interlude.
Yooo thank you bro. So hyped to come to Wow
This is an outSTANDING explanation. I am so impressed
I LOVE ALL THESE XAL'ATATH FEATURES!!!!!!
Xal'atath is definitely the shadowy figure that has been showing up in SoD, offering players void crafting recipies in exchange for void infused items.
This is so well made and helpful, as the WoW story is so huge.
"He stabbed his giant sword into azeroth."
How I Met Your Mother Burning Legion ed.
This video is sooooo good for people who have no idea what the hell is going on. Very well done!!
I'm not sure if I just haven't watched in a while, but your Blizzard style texts and editing is so sick. GG.
Honestly that was awesome with the take over ! Really cool man!
Love your style, please do more, i run out of videos to destroy my sleep schedule to
Not to be that guy, but it's commonly believed that azeroth's world soul isn't a titan but its own thing, that an argus situation is the a similar process of some outside force corrupting it into their image. In argus's case we got a titan forged with fel and undeath, but azeroth has been stewing in arcane energies placed there by the titans for millions of years. The thing that comes out of it might not even end up a titan if they win, but something more powerful.
More powerful than a titan!? Is such a thing even possible?
@@MatthewTheWanderer Yes. The player characters 💀
@@taranbrat LMAO
Bro the VA part was so good. Holy shit
Thank you very much for this video! I’m getting back into WoW with The War Within and this was a great primer. Very entertaining and funny. 😄
Xal'atath made an appearance on Preach as well. I love these little crossovers they're making with WoW channels.
Always a good day when the best lore channel releases a video!
Truuue brother
The boldest move Blizzard pulled is teasing a trillogy when in reality they're never more than 1 bad expasion away from a soft reboot.
"the people in some out worldly place heard something strange before that planet was doomed"
wait, where have I heard that?
"And if you don't know these two, how did you even find this video" made me laugh much harder than it should have. xD
Im glad that there are some spider people who are still around
Love it. I am not playing WoW since Cataclysm but still follow your videos!
I have no idea who Jaina and Thrall are, but after watching it all I have to say that I do know some words you said. Liked and subscribed!
Anduin has more Character Updates, then Ryze Reworks got in League of Legends
Love your videos ! Hoping for more content with tww!! Much love from Germany
Okay I saw this same ending on Hazel’s video. This is SO COOL WTF.
Ivanova really embracing the shadows this time around huh.
loved your commentary in this video LOL. I thought the top line out of the whole thing was "if you don't know who Jaina and Thrall are, eh.. how did you even find this video"
the xa'latah part was cool hahaha
Sargeras wasn’t corrupted. Being the strongest titan, his responsibility was fighting. Through his fights with demons that kept coming back, and seeing all the worlds that the void had destroyed, he began to understand the threat. He warned his titan brothers, but they rejected his warnings. Only sargeras understood. He understood what would happen to the universe if the void took control of Azeroth. If his brothers were too weak to fight, he knew that they would stand no chance. So his he believed that they needed to destroy Azeroth before it’s too late. Sargeras is a grey character.
Lol no
i’m so excited man. while some prefer endgame, my favorite part of WoW is reading all the quests and playing through all the zones. it truly feels like an adventure and i can’t WAIT to explore the new ones
8:36 wtf, was that the original voice of Xal´atath????
When the sword eventually goes, I'm going to miss it a bit. I've been using it as a navigation landmark when I fly around there too long.
u will see it when do the content to farm items
I’m excited to learn more about deep trolls.
Blizz's ol'reliable. Insert baddy with an apostrophe in their name. Give them a spooky magic macguffin artifact.
And the others are?
I LOVE PLATINUM WOW
man that dalarn music hits
This earned a sub ez. Gg man
hahaha I loved the ending with Xal’athat hacking your video 🙈🤣
Why does anduin look like coffeezilla?
okay but she reminds me of Sofia Boutella's aesthetic from The Mummy movie revamp that flopped and I cannot unsee it
Amazing edits wtf 10/10 video
Correction: WoW's lore doesn't matter since the end of WOTLK.
The "modern" WoW is trash and it should be viewed as nothing else but a corrupted undead shell of what it once was.
Since Shadowlands, I have wondered if Sylvanas will find her husband. That the lore makes me think it is Nanthios.
awesome video sir!
A new platinum vid I drop everything!
Legion was the best expansion for me.
I need to know how there ended up being Nerubians down in the south corner of Azeroth! Been thinking about this since the announcement but maybe iv missed something.
Really enjoyed this video! Thanks for summing it up in a funny way! "Badass Elsa" 😂
Thank you :)
4:45 The one that was controlling Anduin was Arthas himself. Your boy was just sitting in the back seat of his own body. 7:39 that was no Void elf but a blood elf occultist. When it took over her body, some changes were done to it. She is no void elf.
Great summary!
Anduin is the literal proof of that
Thanks for the information
So... how I can join Xal'atath?
World of Warcraft can have some good and bad writing from time to time. Here’s a list.
Good writing
Classic
Burning Crusade
Wrath of the Lich King
Legion
Ok writing
Cataclysm
Mists of Pandaria
Dragonflight
Bad writing
Warlords of Draenor
Battle for Azeroth
Shadow Lands
I’m hoping that the World Soul Trilogy will be on the Good Writing tier.
@@leavestrace5493 Still better than what Shadowlands did to Arthas.
@@notthewater Yeah, what Burning Crusade did to Illidan was sort of the lower points of this expansion. But Legion did a much better job with Illidan's character and gave him a much better character arc.
When you show of the 3 sister i was a specting they pose like the pilar man , i dont know why XDDDD
3:35 Ive never played wow but have been thinking about getting into it thats how I suppose.
She on to you man 😅
The time jump seems interesting. Becuase correct me if im wrong but pretty much everything else has been in real time?
Even weirder. The expansions play out during 1 year of in-world time, but they take two real-life years to happen. So all of wow has been in half speed, or is it double speed? idk, but you get my point.
The 1 year per expansion thing isn't 100% accurate, but most of them follow that pattern.
DF took place during two years and I think they're planning to have future expansions follow real-life time more as well.
Very good! Thanks
