Can you help me? My laptops manufacturers website says that there are versions of laptop with GTX 1650, and I have GTX 1050 in it. Does that mean that I can swap my GTX 1050 into GTX 1650? Or are those different versions of laptops made differently?
The port was there so windows wasn’t wrong, technically, but the factory that made my laptop didn’t put it in like the colored spots were there though showing where it would be.
Maybe, sometimes Windows reports that incorrectly. Better off opening it up and looking, or google searching the model of laptop to see how many it actually supports.
Aside from looking inside an easy way is to try find the CPU/GPU on ebay, if you can buy it by itself then it's probably a good indication you can swap it out, usually they are soldered to the motherboard though.

heres a good ?? for you.. is there a website or 2 that, with enough m/b info, for an HP laptop, list what other m/b will fit in the case, and work? the idea is to replace the original m/b with a more current one. thanks b/c of its age, HP no longer supports it (HP G62 355DX)
I bought a laptop with a 2050 (i7 13th gen, 16 gb ram only the gpu was cheap) the cheaper laptop allowed me to then change it to a 4060. A good idea to do.
hi loved this vid is it possible for u to do a vid about how to manage ur thermal performance to get lower heat on ur laptop eg using thermal paste (liquid metal), replace the stock gpu thermal pads, using a fan cooling pad (u can recommend a good one ) and how to undervolt the cpu, dgpu and the igpu for more thermal performance. maybe even using laptop memory that's low voltage and has heat spreader
For metabox laptops where can you find this information about what you can upgraded because I was looking and struggled to find it. Also very helpful video
Hmm not really sure to be honest, as they use the Clevo chassis you could possibly look for information on the Clevo model which may be more likely to give you what you're after. Otherwise I'm sure you could always contact Metabox support who should be able to advise.
I have an older Acer Aspire, not sure what is possible for upgrades or if I should take out the parts I can, sell the rest, and build a new computer from scratch
Probably just memory/storage, but depends on the model. If in doubt, google search the CPU/GPU and see if you can buy them individually, that's an easy way to quickly tell if you can upgrade.
I upgraded my ram and HDD on my ideapad 320 but I couldn't change the ram speed of it even in bios also the cpu and GPU are soldered to the motherboard so I'm still stuck with a weak laptop
I decided to desolder my cpu and solder in a new i7... I7 costed 30€. We will see if the upgrade will be possible because samsung decided to solder the cpu in...
Thanks for info Bro and also my question is: Can ram get older? I mean I have a laptop that I bought 6 years ago and is the time give ram effect any difference or not? Or the ram can be used 10 years and work as well as it was the first day?
Yes but 8gb Ram DDR3 Is 4gb Ram DDR4 so if you want to upgrade you laptop to the best you need a motherboard that's support DDR4 and for Cpu it's really gonna take a lot because you have to find a model that supports laptop
Is there any way I am able to de-solder my CPU for my laptop? I recently got a new one, and it's great and all, but.. the CPU kind of holds it back.. a lot. The CPU is at nearly full usage in games, while the GPU is at 20%
Way late to answer your question’ Is it possible ….. yes Your soldering skills need to be off the chart and you’ll want a hot air station and even a microscope would help’ Laptops have never really been user friendly to upgrade’ It’s possible but you need tools and knowledge’ imo it would be easier to find the same model you have then find the next one up’ example you have an i5 get the same exact line but one with an i7 hopefully it will fit in laptop and just swap all parts from 1 to the other’
Can we change the graphics processing unit in this laptop? Do you know if there is a laptop with an 8th generation or higher Intel processor that supports this feature?
I have a Dell Inspiron 15 5000 on the website. It shows 16 gb of ram. I have a 4 and and 8, but I am sure it could go to 32 total. So 2 16s. I have a 512 hard drive with Windows 11. I have found even if you go over the amount of Ram it will read up to it's max. But that was on older PCs and laptop. This one is about 7 years also. I am going to guess it can handle 2 16s of ram for a total of 32. It has an Intel CORE i3 8th Gen processor. What are your thoughts? Thanks

I might revisit in the future and do a more general comparison if I'm able to get one :)
Why did you skip the cpu upgrade? I wanted to see how to remove it.
I have an intel core i5 from 2020. I may buy an i7 or an i9 when I have the money. I’m currently saving up for it
Can I upgrade my gpu if my computer has integrated graphics
hdd to ssd swap , Works like 50x faster because disk was constantly at 100% in the hdd . Also going to replace 2x4g to 2x8g :)
I upgraded my toshiba c855-s5241 laptop from a pentium b970 cpu to an i7-3540m. Ram went from 4gb to 16gb. I put a crucial mx 100 SSD in it too. Unfortunately the gpu isn't upgradeable
Wow that's still quite a nice upgrade :)
Jarrod'sTech thanks man
Is it possible to upgrade my very old hp compaq 6910p that I found in my garage
Can you help me? My laptops manufacturers website says that there are versions of laptop with GTX 1650, and I have GTX 1050 in it. Does that mean that I can swap my GTX 1050 into GTX 1650? Or are those different versions of laptops made differently?
After 4 years I gave me laptop a good clean and got him some new thermal paste I also upgraded from 8 to 16 gb of ram I am planning on a new gpu
Can u upgrade your hp laptop GPU for a better gaming experience if u can please tell me
1:28 Windows lies. It said 1 of 2 slots used. There is only one slot. The other one wasn’t installed.
Yeah I've found it's regularly incorrect.
The port was there so windows wasn’t wrong, technically, but the factory that made my laptop didn’t put it in like the colored spots were there though showing where it would be.
It says I’m only using 1 of 4 ram slots so I could put 3 more cards????
Maybe, sometimes Windows reports that incorrectly. Better off opening it up and looking, or google searching the model of laptop to see how many it actually supports.
Ok thankyou
where can i buy graphics cards for a laptop? everywhere i look they're for all PC's...
I don't know if mine is upgradeable.
My laptop is Toshiba satellite l750d,and also i haven't seen the motherboard yet.
Aside from looking inside an easy way is to try find the CPU/GPU on ebay, if you can buy it by itself then it's probably a good indication you can swap it out, usually they are soldered to the motherboard though.
when i last opened up my laptop i noticed 2 empty areas witch i assume are for vram chips, iv'e since been wondering if i could weld some new ones in to go from 2 to 4 gb vram
is that possible? if so what equipment would be necessary? and where could the vram chips be obtained?
note - my laptop is an Acer Aspire E15 E5-575G-511A
so, i have a question i have A cpu AMD Ryzen 3 5425U with vega graphics does that means i can't put any gpu in the laptop????

Can you make a video how to upgrade my Lenovo ideapad 130-15 AST GPU/CPU please
Sadly mine is pretty old and getting a 3rd gen i7 is pretty impossible considering that its Intel rPGA or Socket G2 or the reverse Pin Grid Array yes Intel i7 goes that far not for i9 that is a recent CPU that has no rPGA socket
i have an old laptop but i upgraded my ram from 4 gigs to 16 and am hoping to upgrade the graphics card
Nice one!
I would like to upgrade cpu on my laptop , idk if my motherboard supports it though, model number is Asus GL702VS , cpu is i-7 7700HQ
Thanks a lot!
If you don't mind, I've got a question. I own a Dell G15 5520 laptop with 512GB storage, 16GB RAM, RTX 3060, and a 12th gen Core i7. I'm thinking about upgrading the RAM to 64GB. Is that possible, and if so, will it perform well?
I'm eyeing Crucial RAM options:
Crucial RAM 64GB Kit (2x32GB) DDR5 4800MT/s CL40 Laptop Memory CT2K32G48C40S5
Crucial RAM 64GB Kit (2x32GB) DDR5 5600MT/s Laptop Memory CT2K32G56C46S5
Which one do you think would be a better fit?
Appreciate your response in advance.
heres a good ?? for you.. is there a website or 2 that, with enough m/b info, for an HP laptop, list what other m/b will fit in the case, and work? the idea is to replace the original m/b with a more current one. thanks b/c of its age, HP no longer supports it (HP G62 355DX)
Probably but I'm not aware of one.
Jarrod'sTech thats ok, thanks, the m/b shows signs of light corrosion.
I bought a laptop with a 2050 (i7 13th gen, 16 gb ram only the gpu was cheap) the cheaper laptop allowed me to then change it to a 4060. A good idea to do.
What processors are compatible to laptops? Mostly the processors I know is only for desktop😕
hi loved this vid is it possible for u to do a vid about how to manage ur thermal performance to get lower heat on ur laptop eg using thermal paste (liquid metal), replace the stock gpu thermal pads, using a fan cooling pad (u can recommend a good one ) and how to undervolt the cpu, dgpu and the igpu for more thermal performance. maybe even using laptop memory that's low voltage and has heat spreader
+miguel virgo that's a good idea, I'll add it to the list of things I want to do!
My processor is an Intel i5-9300H @2.40GHz. I'm on the Acer Nitro 5. Am I able to upgrade the CPU?
What motherboard should I upgrade to for hp envy x360 have a video card at least RTX 4060
So I don't understand I can just melt the sodder and attach a new cpu?
I upgraded my Dell Inspiron 5559 from 4 to 8GB of RAM so far. :D
Nice! Is it making a noticeable difference for you?
Yes, I can open many chrome tabs now while playing games with some memory to spare. :D
Sweet! Enjoy 😁
👌😁
Games are running smoother or, are just the same?
Hey Video Creator, what is a Brand and Model of the Laptop, do you used on your Video?😊
I upgraded my ram and HDD on my ideapad 320 but I couldn't change the ram speed of it even in bios also the cpu and GPU are soldered to the motherboard so I'm still stuck with a weak laptop
I am actually good at dismembering my device but fucked up in assembling it back. Lost some screws and torn a few ribbons of my touchpad.😭
I decided to desolder my cpu and solder in a new i7... I7 costed 30€. We will see if the upgrade will be possible because samsung decided to solder the cpu in...

How do I know if it is possible to upgrade my t570 cpu?
Thanks for info
Bro and also my question is: Can ram get older? I mean I have a laptop that I bought 6 years ago and is the time give ram effect any difference or not? Or the ram can be used 10 years and work as well as it was the first day?
Yes but 8gb Ram DDR3 Is 4gb Ram DDR4 so if you want to upgrade you laptop to the best you need a motherboard that's support DDR4 and for Cpu it's really gonna take a lot because you have to find a model that supports laptop

Is this Lenovo Ideapad S130-11IGM model can upgrade processor?
I wonder is i5 7th gen laptop. Can be upgrade to nvme m.2 samsung 980 pro? Or pcie 4th gen m.2?
Is there any way I am able to de-solder my CPU for my laptop? I recently got a new one, and it's great and all, but.. the CPU kind of holds it back.. a lot. The CPU is at nearly full usage in games, while the GPU is at 20%
Way late to answer your question’
Is it possible ….. yes
Your soldering skills need to be off the chart and you’ll want a hot air station and even a microscope would help’
Laptops have never really been user friendly to upgrade’
It’s possible but you need tools and knowledge’ imo it would be easier to find the same model you have then find the next one up’ example you have an i5 get the same exact line but one with an i7 hopefully it will fit in laptop and just swap all parts from 1 to the other’
Are there any list about laptops with upgradeable cpu / gpu?
Thanks
Pretty much none of them other than the Framework.
Thank you! So which laptops have the option to upgrade the graphics card?
The Framework is the only current option.
To upgrade my HDD to SSD on my laptop do I have to clone? If I don't clone will I able to install window like that?
Thanks
where is the graphics upgrade?
Hi and GREAT videeo! Do you know if it is possible to upgrade the gpu on a Lenovo G780 Laptop? I got a great i7 cpu and 16GB of fast G.Skill ram + a new Samsung 870 ssd, so i want more GPU power... It should be possible, don´t you think? All the best from Denmark
I have got old toshiba satellite a500-17x laptop, I can only upgrade it to 8GB and I can't upgrade more than that. Can you help me with what I need to do before I start doing it??

What is a graphics upgrade kit for replacing the gpu?
If Im going to partition my storage , how much should I give for OS 's Drive?
Depends on the operating system and how much you intend on installing. Microsoft recommend 20gb for Windows 10 but I'd probably double that: www.microsoft.com/en-au/windows/windows-10-specifications

I upgraded my Sony Vaio SVE1513JCXW with 1TB MX500 from Crucial. The old HDD replaced the DVD-ROM and i can say its a huuuuuge difference. Now its taking just 15-20 sec to be on windows while with the old HDD, maybe like 3-5 min. I plan to upgrade to 16GB RAM (CT2KIT102464BF160B) from Crucial and maybe upgrade my cpu as well with I7-3840qm(45w) or I7-3940xm (55w)...but idk sure, because my cpu i5-3230m use just 35W TDP
Nice!
I am looking to buy Clevo p650 with 7700hq and gtx 1060 . How do you think the thermals and the screens are ?
I've mostly found the screens pretty good in the ones that I've tested, temperatures have also always been acceptable in the ones I've had.
Jarrod'sTech thank you. I would have gone with newer 850 ones but poor thermals.
No problem, yeah fair enough they are a bit thinner and warmer due to less cooling space.
