Your videos are very educating and are created in a learning friendly manner which is really helping me out to understand more on how laptop parts are assembled in the laptop and etc.

I've upgraded the CPU, RAM, HDD, and OS in my dell precision m4300. Went from a core 2 duo T7500 2.2GHz to core 2 extreme x9000 2.8 GHz, 2 GB of ram to 8 GB, a 120 GB HDD to 2TB Samsung 850 Pro SSD (I know waaaaay overkill), and windows xp to windows 10. I also replaced the main battery and swapped the optical drive with a secondary battery, and added a USB 3.0 express card. Oh and I also upgraded the wireless card so it can use 802.11n wifi and not just g.

For me I had kind of a crazy upgrade on my Dell Latitude D620: CPU from Core Duo T2300 32-bit 1.66GHz to Core 2 Duo T7600 64-bit 2.33GHz, RAM from 512MB to 3GB, 80GB HDD to a 240GB Kingston V300 SSD, OS from Windows XP Home SP2 to Windows 10 Pro amd64, Broadcom 802.11b/g Wi-Fi adapter to an Intel 7260 802.11a/b/g/n/ac dual band + Bluetooth 4.0 adapter, added an Ericsson 3G HSPA+ adapter (couldn't find one with 4G LTE though - I might be able to create one myself though using some existing 4G LTE module,) upgraded the LCD panel from 1280x800 to 1440x900 resolution, replaced the main battery, the clogged fan, and replaced the failing optical drive with a second battery. Now I need to fix the display artifact issue (likely a logic board replacement) and I have a 2018-ready machine made in 2004.

Basically a rebuilt system inside the old case. That Core 2 Duo, despite its age, still works fine in most cases. The laptop has a GeForce Go 7300 class graphics card in it and is fully capable of playing back 1080p TH-cam video. I cannot say anything about games due to the age of the graphics card. I have unlimited cellular data so the 4G modem upgrade will worth every cent of it.

Finally I upgraded the cpu from a i3 3110m to a i5 3210m (not a lot of different but it has a turbo boost feature and I wanted to play it safe not making my laptop get too hot) I plan to upgrade the screen for a glossy one and get a bigger battery and a new keyboard in the future.

I upgraded my ASUS K55VM (bought in 2012, came with Core i5-3210M, 8GB DDR3-1333, nVIDIA GT630M, and 750GB 7200RPM HDD) to i7-3630QM (4 core, 8 threads), 16GB DDR3-1600, and put Intel 520 SSD to the original drive bay, remove DVD drive bay to put the old HDD instead.
Couldn't upgrade the GT630M due to the size limit even though the card is swapable.
Thought upgrading from i5 to i7 would need to change to better power adapter, but it actually worked well with the original one.
(Someone upgraded from i5 to i7 has issue because it doesn't have enough power to handle i7)
I guess if I add an external graphics card, it would become a decent gaming laptop again.

I've got a HP Pavilion 17, I'm itching to upgrade to faster system components or an entire new laptop. I'd like to go the upgrade route. I do a lot of video editing and graphics design in Adobe Suite. 8GB+ RAM is a requirement going forward. I'm not too savvy on the tech lingo, but I do know I'd need a RAM upgrade, a replacement drive (preferably SSD). I don't if the laptop has dedicated graphics card or not. How exactly do I check to see this info and also how do I know what components are compatible with my motherboard? I'm looking to do a DIY upgrade or an entire new buy of something else. The nostalgia of this HP is it was my 1st laptop I bought and I don't wanna get rid of it just like that. To use it as a secondary system to the incoming one would be perfect.

yes you should change it to 1/3 which is very good for performance if you put 1/2 or 3/4 only one of them will work which will take all the load and if its full the other will start to take the load but in 1/3 they work equally they both load in and they'll both take responsibility of what program is running which is very good and performance positive

In my case, I''m going to do a motherboard swap with my laptop as mine is the weakest and cheapest model from 2015, it only has DDR3 RAM, but the board swap from the highest end model in the family of my laptop is very cheap of an upgrade, well worth doing, and expands the upgradability of my laptop while spending 1/3 the price of a new laptop. My GPU and CPU are also soldered to the motherboard so the only way to gain speed and power is with a motherboard swap. By doing this motherboard swap, I gain:
16 GB of higher clock speed RAM capacity compared to slower 8 GB of RAM limit. (Still DDR3 but that's fine)
1.6 GHZ turboed 2.2 ghz dual core to a 2.4 GHZ - 2.6 GHZ Quad core
128 mb video memory 12 core GPU to a 2GB Video Memory GPU with 128 cores at a higher clock speed. Worth the price of $100.

Way late to answer your question’
      Is it possible ….. yes
Your soldering skills need to be off the chart and you’ll want a hot air station and even a microscope would help’
Laptops have never really been user friendly to upgrade’
It’s possible but you need tools and knowledge’ imo it would be easier to find the same model you have then find the next one up’ example you have an i5 get the same exact line but one with an i7 hopefully it will fit in laptop and just swap all parts from 1 to the other’
