JuliBom I feel you, man. At one point, it was so bad because we didn't have cable and my TV wasn't working so I had to beg my mom to let me catch an episode of Naruto on her downstairs TV. We also had no computers at this point to use. I just checked Wikipedia because I remember this was (I believe) the second episode of the Land of Tea/Idate Arc, which aired on Cartoon Network/Toonami on September 15, 2007 (which means this was the day I begged my mom). And the episode before it had aired at 8:30 pm, which was a rerun (BOTH OF THESE WERE FILLERS BY THE WAY SO THAT SHOWS YOU HOW MUCH OF A NARUTO FAN I WAS EVEN THOUGH I HAD NO IDEA WHAT FILLERS WERE BACK THEN). And the week before this one was when NARUTO: NINJA CLASH IN THE LAND OF SNOW premiered, which was awesome because I went to my grandma's house and got popcorn and soda ready for the premiere. The day before it aired was Friday and I remember being at school looking up the movie on Wikipedia because I was so excited for the premiere (I was in 5th grade). And then by 2008, me and my brother saw the finale of the Sasuke Retrival Arc when they starting showing double episodes 9-10 pm. Ah, the memories.

Naruto saved my life. When the show was on air, I was going through a lot of shit. This show was the only thing that brought happiness to my life. Every weekend I brought the manga and watched the show. I carried my sasuke plushie everywhere I went. I cried when the character’s sad pasts were revealed. I belted out the opening and closing songs even though they were in Japanese. God I miss this show. I was so happy when Toonami aired 4 new episodes of Naruto in one night when Naruto was facing Neji in the Chunin Exam Finals. That was a long fight lol couldn't imagine waiting 4 weeks to watch that whole fight

I was pretty embarrassed about that, but damn this is still cool to me and I’ve recently restarted the entire series just because.

The nostalgia!! Watching Naruto on Toonami was the definition of my childhood. wish I could go back to those simpler times. I really miss watching Naruto on toonami every Saturday
Man, I remember being so excited for the first episode to air. Thought it looked cool and like a new DBZ type show I could catch from the start. And damn, it did not disappoint all these years later.

Benny Moonwalker tbh, I think canceling Naruto’s dub premieres at such a low number of remaining episodes was what did the block in. It wasn’t the same after that, and it didn’t last much longer, either.
When naruto first came out on TV in USA, i was in middle school, myspace was the facebook. Radio music was good. It snowed more. It rained more. Sunny days were actually bright. Friends were actually friends and the world didn't seem that bad. Everyday was still an adventure with friends. Sleeping over my friends house and playing halo and then eventually halo 2 on xbox, it was the most amazing moment ever when halo 2 came out and i'd sit next to the modem and disconnect and reconnect the ethernet cable to cheat and improve his halo rank. Toonami promos played all the time and it was so relaxing and soothing. Night time preparation was like a whole event by itself. I'd have everything ready for all the cool stuff on TV. Now i wipe my asshole with modern cable, and i really miss old toomani and being introduced to so many new things. I remember being hopeless watching fansubs of Naruto being completely discouraged that it would ever be dubbed into English, but that’s where Toonami can into my world. I was literally a 8 year old watching fansubs of Naruto which seems crazy and about a month later Toonami started airing dubbed Naruto, I was so happy I never missed an episode, not even fillers. I even rewatched everything on that 3 day 100 episode marathon, I remember thinking Naruto was the best cartoon and just being so happy to watch it dubbed in English. But I was extremely bummed that Shippuden never happened on Toonami (or Cartoon Network at the time), I can’t recall but I don’t even think the final episode of Naruto aired on Toonami (Cartoon Network). But I just remembered the show 4 months ago and decided to watch all of it in Dub again and it legit did take me 4 months to finish both Naruto and Shippuden in Dub but I’m happy that I was able to watch it again, watching this video sends back extreme nostalgia from when I was 8 years old watching Naruto on Toonami.
Kelsey Curles i know that feeling. back before everyone wouldn't shut up about it in school and the whole over-exaggeration thar cartoon network started to pull out.
Kelsey Curles I loved this show too. back in 2007 I was in 3rd grade. I showed everyone this show. and they didn't like it. and now they love the show. hmm.
Naruto year’s eve must have been a second Christmas for some lol. It’s crazy to think about waiting until the weekend for 1 episode of any particular anime, and now I can watch pretty much anything whenever I feel.
I recorded the entire Naruto Hundo marathon on VHS. The problem with it though is that during the funeral of the 3rd Hokage there were technical difficulties and it kept cutting into the episode.
Personally, the naruto airing died down when they rechaged toonami and reaired it to the point the network fucking changed to live action. I mean, I was held back in the third grade when I use to love this show. But later down the line, months later when it became too big, irl reasons with kids in my class being annoying and toonami did the rebranding thing.... I was turned off.
This nostalgia is too much. I remember watching these upstairs in a dinky moldy room, toys all over the floor on a crt tv as I played with legos before jumping into my yugioh bedsheets.
I remember purposely staying home for that nye marathon. My fam was so mad i didn't join for festivities and came back for me mid day. Just to see me glued to the TV after lying about not feeling good. Had fun at the parties but thought about all those episodes I missed till the next year lol
Back then I thought DBZ and Naruto were like the greatest things ever lol, honestly getting rid of Naruto was what killed off Toonami, they had nothing good left except that at the time, I started watching Naruto in 2005 when I was 8 and now it's 2015 and I'm 19 and I'm still watching it, it's crazy
Holy Fck the nostalgia is so dam real. Memories of watching this show every week as a kid. Wondering what gonna happen next in the show. Not knowing sasuke would eventually turn to the dark side. Man I wish I was a time traveler
There was a huge new wave and rise of popularity in anime during this time, with Naruto leading the pack and stuff like Bleach and Death Note right behind it.
It feels kinda crazy how when the English dub first premiered for naruto in the manga shippuden has already begun (part 2 aka shippuden in the manga started around 2004)
I’m just glad that I was born to this era of Cartoon Network watching Toonami was one and still is my favorite block. Even now that it’s on Adultswim on Saturday Night now.
0:05 I remember that promo, they were showing the new line up of shows and when I saw this I remember running to my friends the next day telling them we need to watch it. Years later... we're still watching it, damn time flies.

I recorded the entire Naruto Hundo marathon on VHS. The problem with it though is that during the funeral of the 3rd Hokage there were technical difficulties and it kept cutting into the episode.
Man I was pissed they cancel 10 episodes, to finish it up back 2008.
yeah i hit wrong key lol.
CN stopped airing the show in very early 2009
Oh man I remember the Naruto Hundo
Me too I binge the whole thing
This nostalgia is too much. I remember watching these upstairs in a dinky moldy room, toys all over the floor on a crt tv as I played with legos before jumping into my yugioh bedsheets.
I remember purposely staying home for that nye marathon. My fam was so mad i didn't join for festivities and came back for me mid day. Just to see me glued to the TV after lying about not feeling good. Had fun at the parties but thought about all those episodes I missed till the next year lol
I miss these marathons. They were epic!! I wish Toonami would show marathons like these again, that would be so awesome. I hope they do sometime
This hypes the show more than it could do just by its content.
6:30 my childhood
Yep one of the best ones! I did a remaster of that promo in HD, you can check it out here: th-cam.com/video/KXlr_u3UPOw/w-d-xo.html
Imagine if Toonami had made a Madara promo.
Optimus prime literally narrating 😭🔥
I've watched since 2006 and still watch :) Naruto's Badass
And 6 years later from this comment too? I miss 2005 and not having to worry about things in real life lol.
Man Toonami was full on Naruto-mania back then
I grew with the reruns of dbz and the new airing of Naruto. I started watching Toonami in 2003 all the way to its ending in 2008.
Anyone also remember watching Naruto on Toonami Jetstream online? Between 05-early 06?
Wow thank you for compiling this. 2005-2008 was basically middle school for me. Amazing
I remember this. made me a fan for life . Thank you
I miss this so much, back when Toonami/Cartoon Network was relevant.
HOW DID I MISS OUT THAT THE FIRST PART OF THE PROMO WAS A MASTODON SONG FROM THEIR '04 ALBUM
Can you believe that 2007 was the year that they gave Naruto and Pokemon weekend-long marathons?
CN loved both shows
I lived for this back in the day! How do I specifically remember each one of these promos!
I am extremely happy I got to experience the true days of anime the late nights I wouldn’t trade for anything.
Naruto definitely took over as Dragon Ball's successor during this time period.
Man I remember watching the Naruto new years special. 8hrs of Naruto was unmatched as a kid.
So glad I grew up with Naruto and dbz the kings of Anime!
Bro, the nostalgia that my brother and I get so hyped every Saturday around 9pm to watch Naruto. Take me back!
Years later... we're still watching it, damn time flies.
this is so hype
middle school me was all over this
I Wish Naruto On Cartoon Network on 2022😁
That first promo is what got me into naruto and man did it paint a slightly different anime
Toonami really knew how to hype an anime. This was such a good introduction to the series.
14 years ago today Naruto was born on Toonami/Cartoon Network
These promos are so good that I wanna cry! Total nostalgia
