I loved Ed Edd n Eddy, Grim adventures of Billy and Mandy, Dexter's lab, Powerpuff Pirls, KND, megas xlr, fosters imaginary friends, Code Lyoko, Teen Titans, Scooby Doo, Courage the cowardly dog, Ben 10, Totally Spies, and Samurai Jack.
I'm still watching the Ed, Edd and Eddy after years (2013 till this summer) and these bumpers which remind me of that time. Bro, I even found the very first CN comercial I've watched on CN back in 2007 when first got a TV. Last bumpers, as far as i can remember, were in early 2009 or late 2008.
Honestly the concept for these bumpers are amazing. And that made me realize that they spent time and money to construct a 3D environment just so these characters could interact with each other let alone have original lines and scenarios too, that kinda blows me away. I don't see them doing anything close to this these days. I just love the concept so much. There is so much potential. They could of made a whole game with the city as the setting or a amusement park.
Not just a 3D environment, but also fresh animation for a lot of these shows. Also the lighting and shading effects are really well done and sell it super well. I wonder if any show specific animators returned to work on their characters. These are fascinating
The golden age of television. When has a channel put THIS much effort into its branding and identity? They could’ve gone for a safer, cheaper option, but instead they went for a well put-together and ambitious concept that were still talking about almost 20 years later. Long love the CN City.
I don't think they have enough remarkable series to warrant it, unlike back in the 2000's. Nor do they have enough currently airing shows like back then. The only currently airing series I can think of right now are Teen Titans Go, Steven Universe, Ben 10, The Amazing World of Gumball, Ok KO... and that's it. There may be the odd new show they could add, but it won't be the same.
The sheer amount of soul in these bumpers is unrivaled and something we will literally never see again. Such great times for CN. Soul and passion don’t exist anymore.
CN made my life beautiful and i wouldn't trade it for anything. RIP CN 1996-2017. Regular Show was the only show i loved after all the classics were gone, and it's my second favourite show after Ed, Edd n' Eddy.
Honestly how can new age kids born after 2008 enjoy garbage of the current cartoon newtwork. The early 2000s was the true peak and golden for cartoons. Its a shame how investors/shareholders and current culture war killed off cartoon channels.
Rodolfo Montt moya those 3 are the only good ones nowadays, and all 3 ended already. Any other ones on Cartoon Network now that isn’t We Bare Bears is mediocre or boring and I’m not even sure if we bare bears is still going.
I think it's to try to make them seem more realistic with shading either that or the bumpers were late in the day for Americans so they made it late in the day for the city. Cool theory but I doubt it's correct
I came here expecting a cute reminder of what Cartoon Network used to be like when I was a kid. Now I'm actually sobbing. Idk if I just got such a pure hit of nostalgia or something, but I realized that I'll never be a kid again and things will never be as simple as when I was ten just watching Cartoon Network for hours, enjoying life and not worrying about anything.
This is the kind of soul & charm that streaming services just don't offer. What people really miss even more than the awesome shows is the overall experience.
You said it. Commercial breaks were actually fun to watch with bumpers like this on every channel and commercials having actual thought and care put into them. Now it's mostly just medical and attorney commercials and it's not worth putting up with them.
@@SilverDusk1 what's funny is for someone like me who didn't have cable those commercials were a part of Saturday cartoons. Especially the Get Connected for free, JG Wentworth, and mesothelioma ads which were everywhere at the time.
This shows CN had spirit and cared about the legacy of ITS series even if they were already over. That's something they should not forget, what made the channel great.
Abdulrahim Mala When that big crossover in OK KO that actually took place in the CN City (I am not making that last part up) happened, I had hoped that it was a hint that this era might come back and give me a reason to watch CN again.
@@maztermonzter9764 Agreed and TTG was a huge kick in the teeth for me. When I got into Teen Titans, I used to cram my parents’ DVR with episodes of that show, and the show was left on such a cliffhanger. TTG at first gave me hope that the story would continue, but nope, we get a bunch of crap. CN was a huge part of my childhood, and now it seems like it’s just withering away
When I was a kid I always felt this was heartwarming knowing the characters you like live in one city gettin along together. Shame that the cn today feels out of touch probaly commercials during that era were less frequent means less money for cn. I'm gonna miss this kind of bumpers but glad that some people recorded these. Thanks for uploading these bumpers because I can go have a nostalgia trip when I was a child. Good times good times!.
Every journey has an end, you gotta make the best of it afterwards. But nothing will make more happy than being a child again and reexperience the most wonderful moments of my life. Especially the best day of my life when i saw Ed, Edd n' Eddy's Big Picture Show for Christmas.
There's 482 petitions signed and we need to get to 500 for the old cartoon network to come back at www.change.org/christina-miller-bring-back-old-cartoon-network.
When someone working at CN probably said "what if they all actually lived in the same city" and they just ran with the idea. Just a simple idea and they made it so amazing. The fact that all the characters interact with each other in such an organic way is awesome.
That's actually how Toonami came back, they had this idea of just doing an April's Fool joke and just bought 1 episode each of old anime It blew up I had a friend wake me up calling my phone because Toonami was on
I feel it’s more of a continuation of the bumpers from Cartoon Network Fridays that would show all of them working at a WB production office. Back when Fred Flintstone, Scrappy Doo, and The Scooby gang part of the city too.
Words cannot describe the amount of nostalgic and sentimental value these bumpers have for me. The 2000s were truly a wondrous time for Cartoon Network, an era when all your favorite cartoon characters felt like real people. As I kid, I wanted to live in this city.
They all refer back to a common theme, just played in different styles and with different instruments. The melodic pattern (1-3-5-3-4-6-5) is extremely similar to a song probably no one here has ever heard called "Open for Business" from the early 90s.
I feel the same way about Disney Channel and Nickelodeon as I grew up with all three channels; although I didn't start watching Disney Channel until the early 2000s because I watched Cartoon Network and Nickelodeon most of the time back then. I do, however, remember watching Disney's One Saturday Morning back in the '90s.
The soul and effort poured into these little bumpers is unreal. The fact that a team of animators created an entire 3D city just for these 10 seconds segments is a level of effort and dedication that you just don't see from networks nowadays.
There’s something very sad about seeing such a nostalgic thing, remembering a time that will never come back, a time where things were easier and the world was simple in your child eyes. Sometimes I miss being a kid, new stuff was always common.
To be honest yeah. But I'd rather have the story end in a sweet note than for it to run in this current decade as there are chances of ruining the beautiful childhood memories 😞😞😞
47:44 oh my god this is an entire minute of animation PACKED with so many characters just for a bumper about Juniper Lee, a show that only lasted 3 seasons across 2 years. This is absolutely beautiful
Not to mention... Voice lines by the OG voice actors for this scene as well! What other channel put this much effort into their commercials? I'll wait...
i think the best bumpers in this compilation are the empty ones, with no recognizable characters, just the locations, just by seeing these places existing and breathing, with ambiance and atmospheres, it adds so much more to this crossover world, and to the worlds of the respective cartoons
Or even the ones that _do_ have the characters but no spoken dialogue. Like seeing the Eds walk side-by-side into the sunset, none of them saying a word. Powerful stuff.
Abdulrahim Mala CN’s shows were so good I was regularly glued to my screen. Now I rarely watch TV anymore. This should have kept going. It would have been nice to see characters from Regular Show and Adventure Time join the fray.
Never thought I'd ever miss this era almost as much as the Powerhouse era. Look at all the effort into they put into these bumpers They did their best to preserve each show's style and bring in their respective VAs. Time is not your friend people. Believe me.
Bro, real talk, who else at one point in their childhood wished that you saw cartoons walking around in your neighborhood just like in the bumpers? Or in other words, who else wished that Cartoon city was real? Like for real, this was like the best thing that could ever happen on their channel back in 2004. I also loved it how every cartoon had their own background music in their bumpers (some others may have shared the same theme, but still, it was awesome), and we can all agree that Ed Edd n Eddy and KND had the best ones. They just sounded so chill, you know. Plus, they even had HOLIDAY themed bumpers, like Christmas, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Valentine's day, Easter, St. Patrick's day (I think), and 4th of July (I think). Hell, they even had bumpers where all of our favorite cartoon characters were chilling at the movie theater, and these only happened when a movie about Tom and Jerry, or Scooby Doo, or Land before time, or Pokemon, or the Iron Giant, etc. was currently playing on Cartoon Network. .....and let's not forget those little bumpers when they would be telling us what's on now and what was coming up next/later. They even sometimes had certain cartoon characters like Bloo, Mac, Wilt, Eduardo, Coco (yes, even Coco lmao), Johnny Bravo, Lazlo, Ed, Double D, Eddy, Dexter, DeeDee, Bubbles, Blossom, Buttercup, Billy, Mandy, Grim, Irwin, Courage, or Numbuh 1 telling us what was coming up next. Sorry for the long unnecessary comment, I just wanted to express my opinion about how nostalgic these bumpers were and are to me.
@@mitsumikyoya8746 Go the extra mile and make a CN City show. Think about what you could do. The mere concept of characters from different shows interacting with one another and the Wreck-It Ralph mentality of the characters having lives outside their shows writes so much on its own. And why stop there? Let’s not forget some of the new blood that was great on CN, like Generator Rex, Symbionic Titan, Regular Show and Adventure Time. Or at the very least pull a Who Framed Roger Rabbit and make a CN City movie. Maybe have the premise that Cartoon Network is in danger of going under and all the characters have to band together to find a way to stop that.
@@AzureMoebius22 it's funny how you mentioned Sym Bionic Titan and Generator Rex but not Ben 10 considering he's also a superhero and came before both those shows. And is also more remembered.
@@nzuzovilakazi756 I didn’t consider Ben 10 as new blood. To me, he was part of the huge original crew, on top of the fact that he’s present in the CN City bumpers. And Ben 10 is one of my top favorites.
@@AzureMoebius22 oh okay. You know this is kinda random but if you think about it, Ben 10 is one of the most underrated cartoons of the mid 2000's. Now before you say anything, yes it's one of CN's most successful cartoon franchises and also the longest running even won a few Emmy awards and is CN's biggest cash cow, its sold so much merchandise has had several video games and was pretty much every kids favorite action cartoon (including my all time favorite cartoon as a kid 😊good times). But whenever people talk about they're favorite 2000's cartoon you don't often hear Ben 10. I don't know if it has to do with the drop in ratings when Alien Force and Ultimate Alien (which I personally loved both) and then people just stopped caring about the franchise as a whole or what you know?
Man! I was like 9 years old when these bumpers came out. I'd say this is the greatest and nicest of efforts CN has ever done to unite the characters of all their shows and made in such a way that they belong and interact in a large city/community. So much thankful I spent my childhood with this and I'll truly miss it.
Seriously nobody creates with this much soul anymore. Lol I was on a work trip with coworkers my age 27-29 and we literally kicking it with 90's-2000's music only. We basically came to the conclusion our parents were right most new shit is crap we just want our childhood music now
Man.. Just watched this today and honestly, I almost cried. The memories. Especially the Cartoon Network website that had ALL THOSE GAMES FROM THESE SHOWS. Everyday after school I would race to the computer and play those games until dinner. I’m 26 now.. One of the ONLY ways how this will live on in me is by either remembering those days or by drawing them out now. That’s all that’s left. Truly one of the only times when I was on the edge of my seat wanting to ever see commercials like these. Even the ones for five seconds. It was true gold, soul, and craft. Long live the real Cartoon Network. And the CN City.
Same here, this brings so much memories, it makes me want to go back in time when i was a child, the ed edd n eddy bumpers is my favorite because of the music, it triggers my nostalgia wherever i listen to it
Holy shit, the nostalgia just hit me like a goddamn train. I used to love these SO much when I was a kid. CN was different, man. I adored their website and all the mini-games, they were so good. I really miss being a kid, when times were so much simpler and there was nothing to worry about. If only I could go back in time, or at least relive those memories...
I'm still watching the Ed, Edd and Eddy after years (2013 till this summer) and these bumpers which remind me of that time💖. Bro, I even found the very first CN comercial I've watched on CN back in 2007 when first got a TV. Last bumpers, as far as i can remember, were in early 2009 or late 2008☺️. I haven't got into Facebook, i felt drained, so I gave up on it, now I'm reconnecting with my young self after so long (2013-when last saw Ed, Edd and Eddy - Run Ed Run, last episode i can clearly relate to and since then no more). I was born in march 1999 in Romania 🇷🇴 and Ed, Edd and Eddy started in January. Guys, I'll never forget those times. I've also recognized the bumpers I've seen back-then, but here were some ,,new" ones to me. Who is in same situation? Lastly, I can recall Ed's on rollercoaster, Edd stuck, Powerpuff girls, Ed's walking on sunset, Laszlo, Ed and Mandy in a red car on a poster billboard. Nothing of Laszlo in 2009 for sure. CN no more sired them after the summer of 2009 because the way the channel looked started to changed and to decline and air weird cartoons such Eliot kid, adventures time and the others from 2010, i didn't even enjoyed Angelo and The Regular Show, because I felt that wasn't part of the real me. I've luckily got the chance to see ONLY WEEKLY marathons of Ed, Edd and Eddy in 2012 in the summer. There were some aired in 2011 for sure since I've found some recordings of a cartoon-lover and when watch the way it sounded back then I felt younger. And so, I'll play them on the same (2eps a day) at the time I know I've saw Ed, Edd and Eddy here in 2007-2009. Then, by 2010, it all shifted chaotically and been looking all day to see episodes. But got BY CHANCE the chance to see them. But, I'll never forget those times💖💖💖💖.
This was the Cartoon Network I grew up with as a kid. 2000s really was the peak of cartoons and shows, Nick, Disney and CN were at their best. The one where Ed, Edd, and Eddy are walking towards the sunset is the most memorable one to me. Still love these just as much as I did back then.
I do miss this era of Cartoon Network, this was one of the best times. Even though we may never get something like this ever again, I will never forget.
This was the golden age of Cartoon Network. It's too bad they don't do stuff like this anymore. Simple and interesting. The shows that time were the best.
Here I am now an adult. So much nostalgia watchin this now and back then as a little kid. Cartoon Network was in its prime from the 90s to like 2009. Every show that aired in that time was nothing short of great.
One word to describe the old cartoon network. ELITE! The ads alone are entertaining to watch. The shows itself...masterpieces. This is the one multiverse I'd live in forever.
The feeling when i watched this as a kid is only a memory now. Weekends and nights with homework while cartoons play in the background is a fond memory. I miss the old cartoon network with the shows. Even the old voices with the cartoon line up.
I love how most of the characters are shown doing mundane, daily tasks or just hanging out between their bigger cartoon adventures, and then you have Time and Jerry doing their usual antics. That IS their life, 24/7. Lmao.
Man, the graphics, the songs, the character voices, everything is perfect in this little shorts. They are completely full of personality. INJECT THE NOSTALGIA DIRECTLY IN MY BRAIN!
I was more into Nickelodeon and Toon Disney when I was a kid and didn’t really get into CN till mid 2007 but I’ll admit the few times I did watch CN prior to 2007 over at friends houses during this era it was mind blowing seeing these bumpers Seeing all these characters from different or same respective shows at the time together mixed with the all CGI city was so cool and the CGI still looks pretty good and the characters blend well together, so watching this video in retrospect it’s pretty nice seeing what others considered their childhood golden days
This was a *brilliant* method of marketing. Since these would play during commercial breaks, kids would not change the channel, hoping they would see one of these promos featuring their favorite characters (even if they were short, they used to play 2 or even 3 of them for ad breaks). Not only it makes the characters feel more alive, because it shows little bits of how they spend their "off-screen" time, but it's also a huge crosssover between characters. Basically, both the advertisers AND the audience are winning. I have bachelor's degree in marketing, I can assure you companies would kill to benefit from such a thing.
DarthKorrin they said it was a mistake they should have said for years not all summer lumpas could have been the real scoutmaster all alone they have made that as a joke
Ahh this is so nostalgic I remember watching CN every afternoon loved watching Ben10, teen titans, courage, kids next door, megas xlr, scooby doo, foster home for imaginary friends and many more back then CN had so many awesome cartoon shows...
Great compilation man. Thanks for this. Your work is appreciated. CN has so much passion for their craft back then. I wish they released some of the soundtracks for these bumpers. They're underrated. My favorite is the Ed Edd n Eddy one. Sounds like breakbeat. What I wouldn't give to be transported back to the early 2000's. I could watch cartoons for hours after school or summer camp was over. Good times. Nostalgia is hitting me like a train right now damn man.
I love how every show had its own distinct variant on the main music theme. You can tell they put so much work and thought into this, it's just pure soul.
I don't think there's been any other TV network in existence that has peaked this hard. Even non cartoon related. The amount of absolute bangers Cartoon Network had, and even going above and beyond the call to have bumpers like this? It's actually insane.
Now THIS was the Cartoon Network I grew up with. My favorite shorts are the crossover ones, like the ones with Mandy & Raven, or Courage, Ami, Yumi, and Deedee. It's just cool seeing all the cartoons existing in the same world, and it's arguably one of the things that made me so into the concept of crossovers at all.
The OK KO special Crossover Nexus showed KO not only saving the city but CN City is bigger than ever. Just knowing it’s still going even in an alternate dimension gives me such warm feelings.
green decepticon I had hoped that Crossover Nexus (holy crap, it can be shortened to CN as in Cartoon Network! Mind blown!) was hinting that this era would come back. It would have been nice to see characters from shows like Generator Rex, Symbionic Titan, Regular Show, and Adventure Time make appearances. Hell, go the extra mile and right before Toonami is fixing to air, show a quick comp of all the CN characters tuning in to watch Toonami.
If they made a game in this style with the same type of cg graphics and takes place in this giant CN city with day and night cycles. I'd definitely pick it up. It would be the best way to re-live it. With the consoles we have these days it would look amazing.
I wish they kept making these but with the new 2010's shows; Adventure Time, Chowder, Regular Show, The Amazing World of gumball, House for imaginary friends, Johnny test, Flapjack, Total Drama, 6teen, Steven Universe (these were the only new good shows in my opinion)
I Love Adventure Time,Chowder,Gumball,Flapjack and Knuckles and Johnny Test. I remember as an Kid,I be seeing a Few EP of imaginary Friends at my Cousins' House besides Adventure Time Ended and Gumball doesn't feel Lit Anymore
This only makes me wish we had CN in Canada when I was growing up even more. You have no idea how jealous I am of those of you who grew up witnessing this golden age of tv animation.
The Park in CN city..............I have a dream of a concert of Puffy Ami Yumi in that place and ends up with a Black hole opened by Yumi with an ancient god's guitar which Mordo and riggs gave her to replace one that they destroyed. Also will appear places like Wing Kingdom, Two Peaks mall, Coffee Shop.
The shows often referenced each other, and these bumpers took that to its logical conclusion. Probably the only time I didn't mind watching the commercials, because they were just as entertaining as the actual shows. It was always so fun to watch how they interacted, and to see our favorite characters going about their day to day lives. The whole thing felt alive, upbeat, and full of adventure, just like Cartoon Network. ...so would Adult Swim have been the Red Light District?
I was born on 92, watching this really makes my heart warm and kinda sad because i cant go back to my childhood when i just chillin in front of TV watching CN What a golden era Thx for the video too !
I really love this combined art style, its like some mid century/90s version of the amazing world of gumball- I'd love to see an actual show that combined all these different cartoon universes
Even though shows like Teen titans and mucha lucha weren’t in house originals, the fact that they had original content made specifically for Cartoon Network bumpers makes them genuine CN shows in my book
the beginning slowly filled me with goosebumps and a wave of my childhood coming back. As I was back then, I felt yet again mesmerized while I kept watching more and more through the end.
I made timestamp.

Yeah
No, we knew this was good.
Best comment man this was everything back then
That's so true, now i don't even bother watching CN
These are fascinating
funny you mention a whole game, i feel like these could've likely been early inspirations for fusionfall

I just hope Cartoon Network opens up some sort of CN City theme park in this world, just like Disneyland maybe.

I miss this era. Brings so much childhood memories and nostalgia.
If "Learning With Pibby" becomes a show then I'm sure Cartoon Network city was destroyed by the void .
They all lived at peace until the void attacked 😢
The camp Lazlo bumpers are even weirder when you remember the guy that was Lumpas was an imposter
The Damn Train Lol
I love how every show had its own distinct variant on the main music theme. You can tell they put so much work and thought into this, it's just pure soul.
I don't think there's been any other TV network in existence that has peaked this hard. Even non cartoon related. The amount of absolute bangers Cartoon Network had, and even going above and beyond the call to have bumpers like this? It's actually insane.
Thank you for having this collection. These memories deserve to be kept alive!
When Cartoon Network was gold and the go to channel
Now THIS was the Cartoon Network I grew up with. My favorite shorts are the crossover ones, like the ones with Mandy & Raven, or Courage, Ami, Yumi, and Deedee. It's just cool seeing all the cartoons existing in the same world, and it's arguably one of the things that made me so into the concept of crossovers at all.
This is why I never wanted to stop watching cartoons but it just didn't last long enough for hey arnold to have a series finale
Man I want more of this. A city full of crossovers.
The OK KO special Crossover Nexus showed KO not only saving the city but CN City is bigger than ever. Just knowing it’s still going even in an alternate dimension gives me such warm feelings.
Crossover nexus is confirmed to be canon too. And that makes me happy.
green decepticon I had hoped that Crossover Nexus (holy crap, it can be shortened to CN as in Cartoon Network!
@@AzureMoebius22 I would love that
@@AzureMoebius22 High Five Ghost appeared since he's a Regular Show character. And Mordecai made a very brief appearance as a Ben transformation.
@@nzuzovilakazi756 I meant in the CN city bumpers
Cartoon Network Golden Era. Those bumpers were so creative, ahead of it's time.
If they made a game in this style with the same type of cg graphics and takes place in this giant CN city with day and night cycles. I'd definitely pick it up. It would be the best way to re-live it. With the consoles we have these days it would look amazing.
Remember the Cartoon Cartoons games they had on the CN website?
I miss this cartoon network this is my childhood. But all good things must come to an end.
Thank you cartoon network for giving us 30 years of great cartoons
These bring back a lot of memories. Thank you so much for posting.
The fact they even made exclusive ones during the Holidays. Man.. I sure do miss the old days. Never realize how special it all is until it’s gone.
Fhfif has already been gotten. DIDNT YOU WATCH THE VIDEO?? Also, sometimes I would imagine uncle grandpa in CN city.
Can you imagine Regular Show in this Era of CN?
The Park in CN city..............I have a dream of a concert of Puffy Ami Yumi in that place and ends up with a Black hole opened by Yumi with an ancient god's guitar which Mordo and riggs gave her to replace one that they destroyed.
Also will appear places like Wing Kingdom, Two Peaks mall, Coffee Shop.
I imagine Adventure Times
These were the good ol' days. I wish CN can bring back this era, this was my favorite era The City, especially in Christmas.
The golden years of cartoon network!!!
I didn't feel traumatized
Ahhh we ain't never gonna get bumpers as good as this again
They must have had a whole team working on nothing but these bumpers, insane! Also love how wholesome the powerpuff girls ones are
The shows often referenced each other, and these bumpers took that to its logical conclusion.
I was born on 92, watching this really makes my heart warm and kinda sad because i cant go back to my childhood when i just chillin in front of TV watching CN
What a golden era
Thx for the video too !
I really love this combined art style, its like some mid century/90s version of the amazing world of gumball- I'd love to see an actual show that combined all these different cartoon universes
@Marcos Cárdenas NO WAY!!! that's awesome! I had no idea!
@Marcos Cárdenas that is absolutely facinating. I had no idea! Thanks!
Even though shows like Teen titans and mucha lucha weren’t in house originals, the fact that they had original content made specifically for Cartoon Network bumpers makes them genuine CN shows in my book
The amount of detail put into this is timeless, 10 years later gonna search this up again.
Bruh my 30 years of living I’ve never wanted to go back to the past as much as I do to experience these times again
It sounds weird but I would love to see this as a movie, like a huge cartoon network crossover on the big screen
Me too
Right they could do thism why they not do this yet???
oh such nostalgic memories the old boomerang always had the greatest and funniest commercials breaks and shows!! Thanks for putting up this video!!😄😆
I want my childhood back T^T
Me too
same here!🤪 hahahaha
even though I wasn't born then,I miss the old cn
the beginning slowly filled me with goosebumps and a wave of my childhood coming back. As I was back then, I felt yet again mesmerized while I kept watching more and more through the end.
