Dr. Joe Campbell is true car enthusiast. He has owned this 1987 Porsche 911 for almost 30 years. It was his dream car since he was a child. In this short documentary Dr. Campbell describes the 911 and what made him fall in love with this car. He also tells us a little about how he became a car enthusiast and what it means to him. This is different then anything i've ever done before. I wanted to try out a different style of my edits. I put a real classical documentary feel on this film and I really like how it turned out.

Great story, beautiful car and a great short film sharing the passion. I know exactly what you feel like, I just bought my first Porsche, for me it had to be the 993 Carrera. Enjoy the heck out of it in good health.

That piano+driving section perfectly projects the steering sensation in your fingertips with one of these. Beautiful. Owner - 1984 White on Black 911 Targa Whale Tail. Almost this car's twin. Well done and congrats.
My father has one (actually it's a 1985 carrera 3.2 cabriolet, but before that he had a 1983 carrera sc targa) and he loves it (and so do I honestly)! Such an awesome car! Also, awesome edit as always!

I was born with it too. I got my first (and only) Porsche 911 a little over a year ago at age 50. It is a 2005 911 Carrera S. It will always be mine. Other than the fact that I am a firefighter this video reflects my life.

This is honetsly the best car "cinematic" (if you can say so) I've ever seen. It just fits perfectly to the owner's story. The music, locations, camera movements. I'm not a specialist but in my opinion, even though you said that "this is different than anything you've ever done", there's not much room for improvement here. Keep making those great videos please!

I've had my '86 since new; we are getting old together. I specified the 15s because I thought they were more in keeping with the car's age. They drive better too. Nice film.
Great film, Dustin. I'm new here but I have this car in coupe and Indian Red...same year. It's an amazing driving experience and a beautiful object to own. I'm sure he feels the same and why has hasn't been tempted to get a newer 911.

Bravo to owner and film maker. I have my dream bike (original Multistrada) but not the dream car yet, which is this one. Targa. No tail. Normally aspirated with the 217hp. I think there was a chip to 232? So funny my SAAB convertible is boosted to about 240 crank hp but the Porsche was so much lighter and all that weight over the drive wheels they just feel so good. A little hairy yes, but fun.
My first was a 86 3.2 and I sold it and I do miss it but I love my 96 C4 Cab Around Seattle out!

Beautiful video! For those that today buy "civilised" Porsche, Ferrari, Buggatti filled with plenty of electonics and computerized driving. Try one of this delightful old school Porsche and try to push it to its limit: only a professional pilot would dare. My story: I'm not rich nor a millionaire. In 1995, three friends and I made the bet of our lives buying an old Ferrari 348 putting all our savings on this crazy young and uncertain wish. We've been offered a hughe amount by Ferrari collectors, and, with no doubt said "no" again and again. It's still alive and kicking a its best nowadays, and we will never sell it. Never. Yep, I get it! We have one like yours 87, but in red. Bought in 91. Funny story… my wife mentioned she liked the Porsche that looked like a squashed bug(VW). Thought to myself… 928 or 914, oh no…. A 911 drove by and she said - that one! Ended getting it a few weeks before we had our first child. That engine used to put him to sleep, he was a colicky baby. Worked on our next two also. Now they all have left the nest… but the 911 still rides on!

Thanks Joe for sharing your passion. I have owned 10 Porsche’s at the ripe old age of 55. My only regret is I wish I had never sold the previous 9. It’s never been a “ hey look at me” like with certain others. It’s a love and respect for the brand and a true appreciation for the engineering these cars are worthy of. It’s an unexplainable truth!
