- "Porsche - For the Love of Driving" is a short documentary following the story of Trevor Johnston and his seven-year process of building his dream car, a Porsche 911. The film dives into Trevor's love for making things, and why it's important to create things with intention and attention to detail. Filmed over the course of a year Mitchell captured the finishing touches of Trevor's car and got to hear the story of his love for his Porsche.

Incredible video that describes what a Porsche 911 is and could not be said any better. I visited the factory and museum in Germany in 1981. Truly one of my most memorable experiences. When I got back home to San Diego I bought one. The most pure sports car ever built.

Love your story, as I'm wrenching my own. A 1970 911e, that I just fired up for the 1st time a few days ago. I'm still Smiling from ear to ear.

Excellent build and story, I’m finally in the market for my first 911 . I’m 64 and it’s always been my dream to own one. After all the years of kids College etc. I will own my dream , it won’t be new but it will be appreciated. Thank u for your story.

Beautiful car! I am the same, wanted a Porsche 911 since I was little. I absolutely loved mine and it broke my heart when I had to sell it a couple of months ago. I will definitely be getting another.

Wonderful way to start the day. Watching this almost brought tears, but when Trevor stopped and fired his RZ67, that's when the howling began! 🙂Back in the day I had a pristine 964 C4 and would take it for long drives and shoot it with one of my beautiful old MF/LF cameras too. I still have the beautiful cameras but alas, the Porsche moved on when the kids arrived. (I'm a bit of a coffee purist too...). I think I'd enjoy a conversation with Trevor.

The 911 has always been my favorite car at any car show I go to. I’ve recently bought myself a 1982 911SC a few months ago. Let’s hope crafting my 911 to my liking doesn’t take me 7 years as well 😅

I love the video as well! Ever since I was visiting a family in Germany in 1976 and we were on the autobahn going 80 in a small BMW. A Porsche Turbo with the whales tail passed us like we were sitting still. Ever since it’s been my dream car. Love the character of the older 911‘s. If I had all the money in the world I wouldn’t buy a modern supercar I would buy a classic Porsche 911
Wow seeing a classic 911 fly by on the autobahn would be incredible! and I agree, if I had enough money, I would way rather restore a 911 than buy a new supercar.

I don’t think they were making 911 Hot Wheels yet when I fell in love with their shape. It was either my brother’s Autoweeks or Steve McQueen in the opening scenes of ‘LeMans’. However it happened, I immediately forgot about ‘40 Fords, 57 Chevys and Vettes! Can’t wait to have my first drive. Thanks for the inspiration!

Super rad video! I'm doing the exact same thing to my 78 911sc over on the island in Victoria. Grand Prix white. engine out and complete makeover... learning as I go. im 2 months away from being finished .. cannot wait to drive my back and forth to Whistler with some skis on it haha. Same here, started loving Porsche's in the early 70's when I was a kid. Bought my first one in the late 90's and the passion continues with my 991.2 Turbo. Love your car man!

This is exactly what a Porsche should look like, simple but perfect. I would prefer the G or 964 over any of the new ones, they are perfect, too, but they lack the soul.

Very nice video. You carry the essence of owning and driving a Porsche very well, but I would like to suggest (at the 2.40 mark) the the tach be at 5000+ rpm as opposed to 2500. Otherwise, very enjoyable.

I could be friends with this guy...my 7 yr build of 2 Datsun 7 resto mods.
I have so many mods, to my Back dated 280Z. I always forget to list them all.
It will be my Florida Daily Sports Car, So I've built it from the Chassis up.
Both Z's got same treatment except the 240Z has fewer mods as it will be coming up for sale.
My Z, was a Porsche rival on race tracks still is in vintage racing.
It's a perfect car to Drive with , a Vintage 911 and a Vintage Datsun Z , Warriors both !
