I personally think the reason why Ethan saves Mindy is for an alibi/character witness because he would undoubtedly be a top suspect if everyone died since he would be the only survivor of the friend group. I don’t think the intention was to kill Mindy on the train at all, I think it was all to make Ethan appear innocent. I do also think his econ alibi was real, that he went to econ and made his presence known before sneaking out to the apartment, doing the attack and then going back
Yeah but considering they leave Mindy and Ethan alone and don’t even wait for them, it doesn’t really matter to ‘make him look good’ at that time of the story. That’s the only issue with this movie, the very surprising survivors 😂 still fabulous tho

I'm telling you, Sam's therapist, Dr. or Mr. Stone, was related to Stone - Jennifer's bodyguard from SCR3AM. That's why he got so uncomfortable when she said her father was the famous serial killer Billy Loomis, and that they made a movie about him. The way he looks to the side and says something like "Certainly did."

She was a super fangirl (but not a psycho one like Richie), even after Ghostface made a return, started killing her friends, putting her own life and her brother's life at risk. Maybe it was like a way for him to feel connected to Stone, or perhaps some other strange reason. As a therapist, perhaps it's his view that it's a way of coping, or some other strange reason shrinks might come up with.

I remember being with my friends in theaters during the premiere and the moment all the killers from scream 2-5 were being mentioned made me feel so good cause I’ve been wanting that moment to happen like it was so tiring just hearing everyone talk about billy and Stu acting like the rest of the killers don’t exist I never understood why they didn’t mention them but that issue was resolved with this movie. Roman had justice when Kirby complimented him being the only solo ghostface cause Richie out here saying it’s always 2 killers like no wrong and Ms Loomis being acknowledged where Sam gets her psychotic tendencies not just from billy.
If I remember correctly in the kitchen scene in scream 5, the original script Richie did point out that Sam's grandmother was also a killer. I don't know why they cut that though.

I'll never understand the hate Melissa Barrera has received for this role. It's really fucking awful that people just say whatever the hell they want about people they don't know. Even if she were a bad actress - which she's not - more goes into a movie than just acting (writing, editing, etc.). Regardless, as a medical professional, it was apparent to me that Barrera was playing a character who was taking strong doses of an antipsychotic. All of the complaints about her "acting style" (being wooden, appearing slow to realize and calculate what is going on around you, delayed decision making, etc.) were actually specific choices Barrera made that were truly reflective of her character. It was actually pretty brilliant.
See, Danny was immediately off my suspect list after he saw Ghostface across the way and called Sam to warn her. He wasn't pretending for the benefit of others, cause no one else was around (just like when some people bought into the idea that it was Tara in Scream 5). But after the movie, I started thinking about how he also wasn't a victim... and that just seemed weird to me. Can't help but think that hid character is intended for something bigger in Scream 7.
The double knife swipe might be the best scene we will see all year. I know it’s gonna be in the top ten but right now it’s my number one sequence I’ve seen this year.

Now I've had some push back on this, but, I still stand by it: They're trying to make it seem like Sam is going to follow in Billy's footsteps, and become Ghostface herself. I think it's a misdirect. I think it's Tara that becomes Ghostface. Not sure why or what drives her to snap, just that she does. My reasoning: the way she smiled and took her time, when stabbing Ethan, suggests that she REALLY enjoyed it - she savored it; SCREAM 2022 (5CREAM) is an homage to SCREAM (1996) with the primary mastermind being the love interest, and SCREAM VI is an homage to SCREAM 2 with the primary mastermind being a parent of the last mastermind killer. SO, wouldn't it reason for SC7EAM to be an homage to SCR3AM? WELL, in SCR3AM the killer was the half-sibling (Sidney's half-brother, Roman Bridger) of the main final girl of the franchise. Sam IS THAT MAIN FINAL GIRL, not Tara. TARA... IS the HALF-SIBLING of Sam.
I'm fully down for Tara. Going crazy but it will completely ruin it, if they attempt to put Tara in the ghost face costume, it expect me to believe that she put on the costume and then suddenly grew three feet.

I see Danny as being the human version of Toby the dog in Jason takes Manhattan, he's around for most of the movie but goes away before the final showdown and then reunites with his human companions at the very end. The writers could have made him the apartment building's superintendent to explain why he has a ladder in his apartment but nope, he just randomly has it lol Tara's pirate costume is a reference to Radio Silence's VHS segment where one of them was a pirate. There was supposed to be a guy at the frat party dressed as the unibomber but he got covid.
The random ladder is the escape kind for apartments, to climb down in case of fire. That's why it kept extending, they fold up pretty small. The unrealistic part is that it would hold all that weight horizontally

Im not surprised that Tara barely had any reaction when Ethan stabbed her as she fell from the balcony considering the fact that she was stabbed like 50 million times in the previous film. At this point, a stab is basically a paper cut for Tara🤣
Awesome analysis! By the way, the actor with the serial killer eyes 😅 is Josh Segarra, and his big break as an actor (IMO) was on the CW series “Arrow”, he played an spectacular (you guessed!) serial killer! So good. I never hated any character as much as I hated his. I’m sure his eyes and line delivery, that seems to be consistent throughout his roles, helped that a lot.
I always wondered how long did it take them to get from the park to Gale's apartment. It was bright as ever then pitched black by the time they got there.
If I remember correctly, Bailey said it was like 40 blocks or something. So with NYC traffic, it could take a while, even with the police sirens cuz New Yorkers don't give a F.
I love how Nick pointed out the similarities to Scream 2. I picked up on that myself. Maybe the only difference is that Chad didn't have an awkward limp🤣🤣
My theory is that Chad is the next killer. He only survived all those stab wounds because he was in on it and they made sure to not kill him. A nod to Scream one and Stu and Billy’s original plan.

I know the chad living through that many stab wounds thing bothers some people because it doesn’t make sense to them realistically but me personally I wasn’t bothered because there are real life cases of people being stabbed that many times, being shot, having limbs removed and damn near bleeding out and miraculously surviving and recovering to lead (somewhat) normal lives so it’s plausible to me🤷🏾♀️
Oh don't get me wrong. I understand that that happens in real life, the issue that I have with it is that that is not the standard that was set within the first four films. So it just feels very detached and different.

I was looking forward to this upload. Great job, Nick! Also, I’m cool with the “Core 4” surviving because we needed a bit more time with them to see them out of the shadow of the original group. And I love that we have 2 sets of sibling survivors who are people of color! Plot armor I can get behind. 😜😃💯
Now I’ve been saying this since scream 5 but I think Tara will be the killer in 7. Think about it. She’s the only opening scene survivor. They keep pushing the “Sam is crazy” storyline so we aren’t focus on ways Tara could be getting back at Sam because of the dad drama. I thinks she’s planned everything all along. Talking to the killers with an alias. How could Richie and amber reallyyyy know that Sam was Billys daughter. That was a secret among the family. I think Tara told them cause she already knew. And I know Jenna would kill the reveal scene with her duality. Plus it follows the half sibling killer format in 3.

I agree with Nick!! I miss the old fashioned suspenseful, thrilling, scary-ass chase scenes like in the original 3 Scream movies. I love the chase and hiding scenes in IKWYDLS, I Still Know, Halloween 1 through 5 and Rob Zombie's 1 & 2. I just miss that type of thing in horror movies like this..
pretty sure when ghostface comes up to stab Tara while Sams on the phone, right as they push him, you can hear Ethan, the actor under the mask. hes like "ah.... shit" not that it instantly gives it away but someone out there with super good hearing might catch that first watch. i only heard it on the second time

Love this reaction and your commentary. I like Scream 6 (more on the second viewing than the first). They seemed to be having more fun this time, and it's nice to see that Sam actually does have a personality 🙃I wasn't a fan of the ending though. Maybe they thought that no one is going to be surprised by anything anymore, so going Occam's Razor with the ending would be the best way to throw people off. I hope they go for more shock value next time. I want to be surprised!
Well... technically speaking you do have to give a verbal warning before shooting otherwise you can be seen as shoting unprovoked. It was a knife weirder so protocol is to warn them you'll shot, hoping they stand down. Even in your own house, people have been sued for shooting without saying they had a gun when exs or children in.

Oh all of the drawings don't make actual sense. Majority of the drawings of people are from their actual death scenes, or publicity stills. Even the drawing of Dewey's body. If Richie was the one drawing them, when exactly would he have had time to draw the photo? He was with Sam the rest of the movie, not to mention he wasn't the one that killed him.

OMG, Nick, I caught something on a rewatch that I didn't before. You said you believe Danny will be a killer in the next one because how would he have known about Gale and Mindy's attacks. In the scene when they are tracing the call and realized Ghostface was going after Gale, Sam gets on her phone and says she was going to call Danny because he was closer to Gale's place than they were. That's how he knew she was attacked and that's why he was also at the hospital with the core four. Now we could say, that Danny knew about Mindy because Sam said she was going to call to check on Mindy. If she found out about Mindy being stabbed then, she could have called Danny to find out how she's doing?? I mean, if Mindy showed up at the end, after being stabbed in the stomach twice, I'm sure she could have answered the phone. lol. 😬Now as much as I am trying to defend Danny, I will say his response to Sam about "family's are like that" doesn't help my case and neither does the occasional creepy stares, and honestly, he may have been the one attacking Gale, while Quinn was on the phone. With that being said, I just want a supportive boyfriend for once in this franchise that doesn't die! #JusticeforDereks. 🤣

I may be the only one who noticed this and it may be a stretch, but in the scene where Richie calls Sam for the first time and then suddenly ghostface grabs Tarah before they run into the bodega, right before he actually pops out to grab Tarah, police sirens are heard so close, and police lights flash across their faces, almost like a police car drove by, then moments later ghost face pops out from the direction the lights traveled to. I've seen a lot of people theorize that Detective Bailey was ghostface in the bodega scene, and I think that makes sense given this and the fact that he's the one that told them to head to the station so that's why they were outside in the first place.
I've always toyed with the idea that Danny was like a secret killer, because (yes, I would love it for Stu to come back but I get why it hasn't happened and I'm not hating on it for not) he just showed up at Gale's high rise, he just happened to pull Chad into the subway, and the way he said family is rough was weird to me, but Sam having been with 2 killers... thats gonna hurt

Now I've had some push back on this, but, I still stand by it: They're trying to make it seem like Sam is going to follow in Billy's footsteps, and become Ghostface herself. I think it's a misdirect. I think it's Tara that becomes Ghostface. Not sure why or what drives her to snap, just that she does.
My reasoning: the way she smiled and took her time, when stabbing Ethan, suggests that she REALLY enjoyed it - she savored it; SCREAM 2022 (5CREAM) is an homage to SCREAM (1996) with the primary mastermind being the love interest, and SCREAM VI is an homage to SCREAM 2 with the primary mastermind being a parent of the last mastermind killer. SO, wouldn't it reason for SC7EAM to be an homage to SCR3AM? WELL, in SCR3AM the killer was the half-sibling (Sidney's half-brother, Roman Bridger) of the main final girl of the franchise. Sam IS THAT MAIN FINAL GIRL, not Tara. TARA... IS the HALF-SIBLING of Sam.
I'm fully down for Tara. Going crazy but it will completely ruin it, if they attempt to put Tara in the ghost face costume, it expect me to believe that she put on the costume and then suddenly grew three feet.

I see Danny as being the human version of Toby the dog in Jason takes Manhattan, he's around for most of the movie but goes away before the final showdown and then reunites with his human companions at the very end. The writers could have made him the apartment building's superintendent to explain why he has a ladder in his apartment but nope, he just randomly has it lol
Tara's pirate costume is a reference to Radio Silence's VHS segment where one of them was a pirate. There was supposed to be a guy at the frat party dressed as the unibomber but he got covid.
The random ladder is the escape kind for apartments, to climb down in case of fire. That's why it kept extending, they fold up pretty small. The unrealistic part is that it would hold all that weight horizontally

By the way, the actor with the serial killer eyes 😅 is Josh Segarra, and his big break as an actor (IMO) was on the CW series “Arrow”, he played an spectacular (you guessed!) serial killer! So good. I never hated any character as much as I hated his. I’m sure his eyes and line delivery, that seems to be consistent throughout his roles, helped that a lot.
I always wondered how long did it take them to get from the park to Gale's apartment. It was bright as ever then pitched black by the time they got there.
If I remember correctly, Bailey said it was like 40 blocks or something. So with NYC traffic, it could take a while, even with the police sirens cuz New Yorkers don't give a F.

I know the chad living through that many stab wounds thing bothers some people because it doesn’t make sense to them realistically but me personally I wasn’t bothered because there are real life cases of people being stabbed that many times, being shot, having limbs removed and damn near bleeding out and miraculously surviving and recovering to lead (somewhat) normal lives so it’s plausible to me🤷🏾♀️

Now I’ve been saying this since scream 5 but I think Tara will be the killer in 7. Think about it. She’s the only opening scene survivor. They keep pushing the “Sam is crazy” storyline so we aren’t focus on ways Tara could be getting back at Sam because of the dad drama. I thinks she’s planned everything all along.
Talking to the killers with an alias. How could Richie and amber reallyyyy know that Sam was Billys daughter. That was a secret among the family. I think Tara told them cause she already knew. And I know Jenna would kill the reveal scene with her duality. Plus it follows the half sibling killer format in 3.

I managed to watch this review the other day on my tv, but when I went to use my phone to leave a comment, I realized that the video wasn't there! I'm sorry that the copyright monster found you! Love this reaction and your commentary. I like Scream 6 (more on the second viewing than the first). They seemed to be having more fun this time, and it's nice to see that Sam actually does have a personality 🙃I wasn't a fan of the ending though. Maybe they thought that no one is going to be surprised by anything anymore, so going Occam's Razor with the ending would be the best way to throw people off. I hope they go for more shock value next time. I want to be surprised!
Well... technically speaking you do have to give a verbal warning before shooting otherwise you can be seen as shoting unprovoked. It was a knife weirder so protocol is to warn them you'll shot, hoping they stand down. Even in your own house, people have been sued for shooting without saying they had a gun when exs or children in.

Oh all of the drawings don't make actual sense. Majority of the drawings of people are from their actual death scenes, or publicity stills.
Even the drawing of Dewey's body. If Richie was the one drawing them, when exactly would he have had time to draw the photo? He was with Sam the rest of the movie, not to mention he wasn't the one that killed him.

Honestly, I'm not mad that C & M keep surviving. It's nice to see most of the people who're in the movie, are still there at the end of the movie.
OMG, Nick, I caught something on a rewatch that I didn't before. You said you believe Danny will be a killer in the next one because how would he have known about Gale and Mindy's attacks. In the scene when they are tracing the call and realized Ghostface was going after Gale, Sam gets on her phone and says she was going to call Danny because he was closer to Gale's place than they were. That's how he knew she was attacked and that's why he was also at the hospital with the core four. Now we could say, that Danny knew about Mindy because Sam said she was going to call to check on Mindy. If she found out about Mindy being stabbed then, she could have called Danny to find out how she's doing?? I mean, if Mindy showed up at the end, after being stabbed in the stomach twice, I'm sure she could have answered the phone. lol. 😬Now as much as I am trying to defend Danny, I will say his response to Sam about "family's are like that" doesn't help my case and neither does the occasional creepy stares, and honestly, he may have been the one attacking Gale, while Quinn was on the phone. With that being said, I just want a supportive boyfriend for once in this franchise that doesn't die! #JusticeforDereks. 🤣

I may be the only one who noticed this and it may be a stretch, but in the scene where Richie calls Sam for the first time and then suddenly ghostface grabs Tarah before they run into the bodega, right before he actually pops out to grab Tarah, police sirens are heard so close, and police lights flash across their faces, almost like a police car drove by, then moments later ghost face pops out from the direction the lights traveled to. I've seen a lot of people theorize that Detective Bailey was ghostface in the bodega scene, and I think that makes sense given this and the fact that he's the one that told them to head to the station so that's why they were outside in the first place.
I've always toyed with the idea that Danny was like a secret killer, because (yes, I would love it for Stu to come back but I get why it hasn't happened and I'm not hating on it for not) he just showed up at Gale's high rise, he just happened to pull Chad into the subway, and the way he said family is rough was weird to me, but Sam having been with 2 killers... thats gonna hurt
