Quest 3s really needs to be $199 if we want to see the masses start to adopt. It needs to be a no brainer price as many will still pause on $299 as that has been the Quest 2 price and clearly while good, has not brought in the masses as Meta wants. They are aiming for 100s of millions of users as their next step. $199 and a better than Quest 2 might lead there.
300 is a good price tho is anyone else doing it for cheaper ? I don’t think so .there is no competition for meta so every person who wants to experience vr is going to choose meta
@@joostjansen1954 It is indeed the best price, but is it the price that will bring in lots of people? That is the goal not just a cheap price. Guess we will see in time. I hope so as I am Quest developer.
This is great and all, but it still seems like the Vr part of Vr feels left behind. What I Mean is this: Imagine These headsets to another world and software's and OS is the room it leads too. you can make the door as fancy as you want. But the moment the person enters the room and sees how much of a bad state its in there just going to do a 180 and then leave. Where is the utility? why is there pc software barely been updated since 2016? why did we lose access to oculus home and now have to choose between premade environments? where is the community features? cool tech thou. I'm looking forward to oled being used in headsets again
I'm slowly leaning towards vr to the point where i might get a quest pro over getting a high end pc next time around and just get a decent pc. So instead of spending 2.5k on a pc. I'll get a quest pro and a sub-1k pc. Things change so this might too, we'll see as things development. But the fact I'm considering this means something for the future of VR space since if there is one then there is definitely more. Really hoping quest 4 or around there I won't need lense caps. I can just change a setting according to my prescription.
The only issue I have with the Quest 3 is that it isn't micro oled. The washed out black in dark scenes is so terrible. So I can't wait for Quest 4. If it doesn't have micro oled and wifi 7 for seemless wireless PC streaming then I will be extremely dissapointed.
I think they need to understand that there is a need for different purposes of vr use. For example there is a need of new design for sports Vr. Lighter headset and controllers for vr sports
The perfect headset would be something that isn't made by Meta. That runs Linux and has open source drivers... I have no reason to trust Meta in their insidious pursuit of owning the VR/AR industry. Personally I got burned with HP Reverb G2 when Microsoft discontinued Windows Mixed Reality, and HP went radio silent to its customers. Due to all of this, Valve is the only company left that I have some kind of trust in right now, and I hope "Project Deckard" will become everything we dream of.

ive recently returned my quest 3 cause i didnt use it much, and it ended up breaking within warranty. i might just think of getting the 3s if it's that much cheaper, since i only played beat saber and low end games anyway
I'm sorry, I really wanted a higher end of VR standalone headset rather than an Apple Pro with wired dongle knock-off 🤦🏻♂️. I really hope they create a much more powerful successor to da quest tree
Meta feels like it’s moving like Apple, you won’t upgrade until 2-3 years after the technology you buy… Quest 2 was a major upgrade from Quest 1 but Quest 3 felt like a little jump from Quest 2. I’m waiting for Quest 4 till I upgrade.
Idk the Quest 2 for me was totally unusable due to its limited IPD adjustment and feels SIGNIFICANTLY less solid than the 3 does. The 3s may be an incremental upgrade from the 2 but the regular Quest 3 feels like a whole other HMD and is damn close to my Valve Index.
Somehow I foresee major delays in this technology. I think its wishful thinking that we'll see these headsets drop in this convenient timeline. IE, I'm not holding my breath.
Has to be a standalone PCVR capable device for me, That would be so nice to have, and with things like the asus rog ally having very powerful IGPU's I think it'll be possible soon.
It would but as of the moment I have no space for a desktop pc. Even if it was more then a pc I'd still get one just because the convenience of set up it would have
in my opinion, going down the multiple device route is terrible long term. you end up with tens of older models of devices that aren't compatible because every new headset is "better" take Nintendo and the Wii U. or, any old console of theirs. once the new quest 4 is out, the quest 3 will seem like a bad buy, and so on. Make one headset every 5-10 years. ones that can perform at a good level for that time frame. I don't want to buy the quest 3, because i know the quest 4 will be better. but then i wont buy the quest 4, because the 5 will be even better. its an endless loop of losing money because they just can't slow themselves down, they need that funding.
We get Horizon OS: + YAY NO BOOTLOOP PROBLEM + YAY +X HOURS OF VR GAMING WITHOUT POWERBANK - No piracy - No homebrew - No game optimizer... Nah, it sucks 😞
I really hope they stop making more quest headsets, quest 4, 5, and 6 sounds so off. Instead they should just make a new lineup of headsets. The quest 3 is already really good.
So now we’ll see people gesturing in and talking to themselves. Just as we’ve finally gotten used to people (with earbuds) talking to themselves or worse, talking as we mistakenly think they’re talking to us. With the introduction of the Quest 3S, at a lower price point of the Quest 3, Meta would be better focusing on driving the Quest 3 price down, and stop with half bakes that they think fits. They have also now dropped the 128GB Quest 3 in order to roll out the Quest 3S, as the price point was so close to one another. If you ask me, they would have done a better job keeping this model on and binned the Quest 3S before it became an idea. The Quest 3S is over a year later than the Quest 3, and anyone buying in the Quest 3 will already have the 2023 models.

It needs to be a no brainer price as many will still pause on $299 as that has been the Quest 2 price and clearly while good, has not brought in the masses as Meta wants. They are aiming for 100s of millions of users as their next step. $199 and a better than Quest 2 might lead there.
Fr
300 is a good price tho is anyone else doing it for cheaper ? I don’t think so .there is no competition for meta so every person who wants to experience vr is going to choose meta
@@joostjansen1954 It is indeed the best price, but is it the price that will bring in lots of people? That is the goal not just a cheap price. Guess we will see in time. I hope so as I am Quest developer.
@@MetaverseAdventures why need more people if the majority of vr players are on quest . Meta is chilling
@@joostjansen1954 It is Meta's goal to get 100 million users un VR then a billion.
Smaller form factor (with external battery), better pass through, and better resolution
I can't wait to see what they come up with with the meta os headsets , some people will utilize room for bigger heatsink or bigger battery and etc ❤
Boom, subscribed!
Thr ar glasses are interesting. Project flamera is worth looking into. Glad i got my phd in this field. Need to make stuff for these new hardware
i will buy Orion if I can get my proscription added
Nah, rather not have something made by steam. Would rather have a meta console.
Why you want that for
I had a dream about using the Q3 light bruh
My dream vr headset is like a ironman helmet r in form of a helmet where u have animated gif like eyes on the outside and animated anime like mouth and with a voice changer. Wear this futuristic helmet go outside see a city full of xr advertisement and so got it ? Something like that
I want Stable Diffusion style graphics in realtime for VR, tied with ChatGPT 4o style characters for some VR Holodeck stuff. Unreal Engine and Unity are about to be obsolete.
the biggest thing I want for xbox is to add vr support for games, mostly for sim racing games. I doubt this will happen though.
Im watching this a month later and 3s is now out
My dream is just Quest 3 with OLED display for like 100$ more and maybe eye tracking
ive recently returned my quest 3 cause i didnt use it much, and it ended up breaking within warranty. i might just think of getting the 3s if it's that much cheaper, since i only played beat saber and low end games anyway
We got Irl HUDs before GTA6
Don’t worry we will also she fully functional mark zuckerburg before GTA 6
It’ll probably be after it
I'm sorry, I really wanted a higher end of VR standalone headset rather than an Apple Pro with wired dongle knock-off 🤦🏻♂️. I really hope they create a much more powerful successor to da quest tree
nice to hear if a quest 4 comes it likely would be in 2026 and not next year as i just got my quest 3. will be awesome!
I still want my quest 2 home back…. And echoVR back
Meta feels like it’s moving like Apple, you won’t upgrade until 2-3 years after the technology you buy… Quest 2 was a major upgrade from Quest 1 but Quest 3 felt like a little jump from Quest 2. I’m waiting for Quest 4 till I upgrade.
Idk the Quest 2 for me was totally unusable due to its limited IPD adjustment and feels SIGNIFICANTLY less solid than the 3 does. The 3s may be an incremental upgrade from the 2 but the regular Quest 3 feels like a whole other HMD and is damn close to my Valve Index.
xr2 gen2 was double gen1 if the gen 3 is double gen 2 then it's about the same as a gtx 1070 which is good enough for PC vr titles.
Somehow I foresee major delays in this technology. I think its wishful thinking that we'll see these headsets drop in this convenient timeline. IE, I'm not holding my breath.
Great overview, thank you!
Wheres that hyper foil game?,
We need proper full body tracking
If xbox could work as a gaming PC for PCVR with my quest I’d be over the moon
the closest we have for now is the rayban meta’s.
Whats your Dream VR headset?
The one that has index like audio
A pcvr headset with quest 3 screen, lenses and it Has base stations
Has to be a standalone PCVR capable device for me, That would be so nice to have, and with things like the asus rog ally having very powerful IGPU's I think it'll be possible soon.
@@atomic... your better off just having a pc then because that will cost you way more than your average pc
It would but as of the moment I have no space for a desktop pc. Even if it was more then a pc I'd still get one just because the convenience of set up it would have
Quest 3 is there, they did it. Now work on immersion.
in my opinion, going down the multiple device route is terrible long term. you end up with tens of older models of devices that aren't compatible because every new headset is "better" take Nintendo and the Wii U. or, any old console of theirs. once the new quest 4 is out, the quest 3 will seem like a bad buy, and so on.
We need to start moving from cell phone level vr to laptop level vr.
Apple M processors 👍
We get Horizon OS:
+ YAY NO BOOTLOOP PROBLEM
+ YAY +X HOURS OF VR GAMING WITHOUT POWERBANK
- No piracy
- No homebrew
- No game optimizer...
Nah, it sucks 😞
I really hope they stop making more quest headsets, quest 4, 5, and 6 sounds so off. Instead they should just make a new lineup of headsets. The quest 3 is already really good.
I skipped oculus three to wait for four
Someone gonna definitely leave a quest 3s on "accident" again lmao
So now we’ll see people gesturing in and talking to themselves.
Just as we’ve finally gotten used to people (with earbuds) talking to themselves or worse, talking as we mistakenly think they’re talking to us.
Now, we’re going to think right off the bat that the person gesturing, moving their hands, arms and fingers around talking to themselves are having mental issues and experiencing hallucinations… 😮🤦🏻♂️😂
That zuck guy gives me the heebie-jeebies.
Augmented reality will be a distopian nightmare.
i want good battery life on meta quest 4
Quest PlayStation when?
VR is cool, but if you think it's "the most advanced technology on the planet" @ 2:16, then please stop your "puffin" @ 6:15
To be fair the AR glasses that Boz is talking about will have some pretty insane technology
But defo not the most advanced tech
@@VirtualChap2025 most advanced *VR tech", sure. But if my leg breaks, I'll be thanking God for X-Ray technology before I thank God for VR technology..
@@JoinUsInVR We have Wilhelm Conrad Roentgen to thank for the discovery of X-Rays. Thanking an old book's mythical entity(that doesn't exist) for anything makes no sense, even less for VR technology - we have to advance from myths to reality.
Quest 2 Pro is officially dead. Even the Quest Pro is now discontinued, and the reason is nobody will spend over a grand on a headset, as VR is still a nesh market.
I wish we had XBOX VR
Lighter!!!
I just want a headset that doesn't hurt my face
I had the Meta Quest 3 with all its accesories but it still hurts having it ln so definitly agree with you.
180 FOV please lol
I want to play gta 5 online in vr 😮
No more sweaty face or weight on the head would be so awesome.
You can't really like not have a sweaty face, sweating is normal and you can't get rid of it.
@amirsalih2332 I have the rokid max glasses and viture pro and don't sweat if they make AR glasses I really don't see a issue at all.
I don't think we are anywhere we need to be in XR to be able to pull off what we are expecting within the next few years. Maybe 2 full gens away. What we have now is trash, limited, and underutilized. We just aren't there yet. We have been promised this type of shit since the Quest Pro.
Good quality mixed/augmented reality devices are still expensive to make, so i agree with you
One thing is certian....we will be broke
blah blah blah … i dont know i dont know … blah ….🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️
Lighter
Okay Summary, don't buy quest yet wait another 60 year for a better quest to release
XR2 gen 3 n 2026? Lol - I already have the Gen3 in my flip6 out since last spring (made) ! In 2026 they better have Quest4 with XR3 ! not Xr2 gen 3 or gen4
its gonna be the third update of the xr2 chip so xr2 gen 3, thoses chips are not named because of the phone's chip, the fact that the xr2 gen 2 is based of the 8 gen 2 is just a coincidence and it will certainly not be named xr3 cause it means its a different class of chip, if it existed it would be for a very high-end headset but certainly not for a standalone headset for consumers
Is it just me or does Zuckerberg really need to stop injecting his likeness into these advertisements?
Guy just creeps me out.

Can we all just not buy it if they don’t do OLED?
I dont care to play 2d xbox games with a headset on. They should just get away from xbox or we'll all end up paying 100 bucks a month just to connect to the internet.
