QotW: I was vaguely interested in Wayfinder before, but after the shift announcement, I'm much more interested in it, as I'd much rather have a game I purchase, then can play whenever, than yet another free to play service based game trying to nickle, and dime the player at every turn.
As a 31 year old gamer, I've never worked in the game industry outside of doing a multitude of alpha and beta tests, it's awesome seeing the progression of it being a niche hobby to a mainstay for many people. I remember getting GameInformer magazines as a teenager along with PC Gamer and Official Xbox Magazine, kept a lot of demo discs I still have in a sleeve somewhere in a box somewhere. I'm like Mike, sometimes if I'm at Barnes and Nobles and see an interesting magazine cover I'll sometimes buy it just to have. I also remember being in college in 2010-2011 and thinking podcasts were a silly idea since I was never big on radio talk shows like howard stern. Also like Mike did with Wildstar, bought a bunch of physical copies of TERA when it went f2p because the electronic store by me were selling them for 5$ a pop, bought around 10 copies because if you put in the cd-key backwards you'd get a free mount from it, spun them on ebay for around 20$ each at the time. Still have a few physical copies of PC games including the WC3 battlechest, the physical CE for SWTOR and Mists of Pandaria.
What Wayfinder was missing was build variations, there are currently only 2 builds "attack crit" and "spell crit". There are also simply not enough stats. Most mobile games have 3x more stats in their catchas. “dungeon crawler” needs interesting loot
QoTW: I'm personally rooting for Wayfinder. I love almost everything about this game, from the art design to the characters to the gameplay and its loop. I'm one of those whales that shelled out $150 for the Founders' Pack, so I'm definitely hoping that this shift to solo/co-op will save the game. I know a lot of my friends were interested in Wayfinder when I told them about it a few months back; sadly their interest died out when they found out it was a F2P MMO. Hopefully the fact that this game will now be a co-op dungeon crawler will change their minds. If not, I seriously need to get new friends.
Same here, been a fan of AS since Battle Chasers. I believe they're doing the right thing, I order to give the game the chance to survive in this economy.
Ah yes an upload that'll last me exactly up to the time I clock out of work! Will update my comment after listening! Da bomb to the new Fortnite update. The Mad Max & Fallout theme gameplay so far has been absolutely amazing. If you asked me 5 years ago if I'd ever play Fortnite I'd scoff at you but since last year me and my group of friends picked it up and have been having a blast ever since. Hope Mike's wife and daughter have been having fun with the new update too! A bomb to the current landscape of the video game industry, something absolutely needs to change. Props to Capcom and their new hiring initiate but even Larion saw some lay offs, it just goes to show how harsh it is at the moment. Just like the Movie and Music industry right now we are in a dire situation and much of it is due to the old boomers that run the infrastructure of those industries and the nepotism they perpetuate. When you start losing as much money as these industries have a change whether it be course correcting or something more forceful its going to happen and it's going to be big. We'll just have to wait and see while hoping it lands on the more positive side when it affects all of us. My questions regarding you guys and the industry is: 1. Mike how the hell do you manage a full time job, MMOBomb & ready check raidio and having what, 2/3 kids while also playing multiple MMOs and finishing single player games?! I can barely finish games with only 1 full time job lol. 2. How would you suggest someone get into the industry of writing/journalism for video games today with its current chaotic landscape of click bait and overall dishonest practices all in the vein of churning out content for ad revenue?
Dabomb to WoW. The warbands and this new remix event, got all my altaholic and collection juices flowing. ReSubbed after about 2 years. To be honest, prob only play a month again tho. Seems the pattern. Maybe not!
QoTW: Putting in a few hours into the beta and as a founder pack whale, I'd argue that I'm more excited to replay the game as a singleplayer/optional coop game over a "mmo", Between the progression, monetization, and just server issues I think it'll perform better overall, not sure about the long term. Gigantic is doing alright with the box price but then again Wayfinder in my honest opinion has more room for replayability with the PvE mechanics.
When I did the Alpha test for Wayfinder I thought it wouldn't last 6 months after release. It felt like it was a generic mobile game ported to Consoles and PC. I thought it was boring as hell. The Division game I figured it wouldn't get released because it sounded like it would be DMZ without the DMZ fun.
A-bomb to junk games on Steam. I have viewed 31,496 games in my Steam queue and only have 194 on my wishlist. I ignored 30,108 so far. What do you use your phone for while sitting on the throne? :)
Reportet AS to the German Consumer office tbh. You can't fund a different game with Early Access money. They advertised an MMO not a Single Player CO OP game.
Weekly Bomb: Giving an A-bomb to people upset about the new AC announcement and getting upset at nothing burger points. Being upset about "historical accuracy" in a game literally with magic, aliens, and time travel has to be one of the dumbest things to be mad about when people should be more upset about the abhorrent pricing for the different editions of the game. Screw these bozos.
It's not even historical accuracy because Yasuke was real and, as I understand it, there was a very good chance that he was literally a samurai. I don't believe a lot is known about him right now so the AC team will certainly take some creative liberties, but there's nothing wrong about taking a historical figure and fictionalizing their life to a degree. It's not like Leonardo DaVinci ever actually built a glider which he gave to an assassin from a secret order to help him with a mission. The AC games have added fictional aspects to real historical figures for ages. It's literally an issue for these people because he's black. That's it.
i have a question who is going to refund the people that buy a game has a mmo and no is going to be a sigel player.......what is going to appen to all that people that buy the founders pack and go see the video of asmongold talking with the director of the game and he says they never recieve any money who had rcxieve the moey was digital extrems with steam ????? that is what he says????

That Warhaven game died already?! Wow.. And no where have I seen it being reported.
We were on it from minute 1 because of Troy's love for the game :)
@@mmobombcom Must have missed that :( I was gonna check back on it, and couldn't find it. But that's NetEase for you. Don't trust'em..
I was dumb and got that game on early access release day =(

qotw: Nothing new on wayfinder except you can forever play it solo or via steam or playstation/xbox servers? That shit is dead.

This. Great point.
