I like this game it is a little overwhelming. I am a 64-year-old player Your tutorial is the first one that I’ve watched that I understand so thank you
This was so not complicated... Everywhere else said that summoner was complex and that's why people didn't play it. The fact that you started at level 15 and then went up from there makes a world of difference to understanding the class. Everything else that I've seen has been opinions or a level 90 summoner. Simplest and easiest to understand rotation for any class that I've yet seen. I am a new player and didn't like summoner until I saw some opinions about it. And this guide pretty much solidified it for me. 😊
Summoner USED to be the single most complex Caster DPS in the game due to having to juggle Aetherflow, DoTs, and multiple Short Duration Long CD buffs. After the rework, it's probably the easiest DPS to pick up and learn.
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS!! I just recently started playing, still on free trial (though do plan to buy later) and needed a guide that covers what I can use QQ I already had a grasp of how summoner worked, but I wasn't sure if I was doing things right and wanted to learn more. This was so useful and reassuring! Thank you!
You're good at this, it's refreshing to find a guide that doesn't leave me more confused. Can't stress this enough so I'll just say this, people think they need to keep things fresh after doing this for a long time but simplicity supersedes all that when you do it right. So don't change, you got a recipe for lasting success, hope to see you in more games.
This video was so helpful! Very cool to see other older players commenting here as well. I'm 53 and struggle a little with grasping the game play and concepts, so precise videos like this are key to learning to enjoy the game!
In case you saw my unedited comment, I figured out that Enkindle is just a trait at Lv.50. I was confused with Enkindle Bahamut, which is on my bar from the Summoner controller setup video.
This is a very good bare bones introduction to the class I was looking for something i could share with a friend who wants to play the game but she's not big on mechanically challenging game play and this is exactly what she needs.
Thank you soooooo much! I've been tanking but was really interested in trying out scholar as I love mit style healing too. I picked up the class the other day, and by lvl 10 I felt so confused. It's not even that the rotation is hard, but all the abilities and moves kinda felt like word salad and I couldn't wrap my head around all the multiple guages and stuff. This guide made it instantly understandable, especially with the rotation examples :D
This was exactly the video I needed (the boys have recently convinced me to jump back into FFXIV), and the timing is impeccable; this was very easy to digest, enjoyable, and has me much more excited about jumping back into the game. Thank you for making this. 💜 It ain't much, but you have my sub. 🥰
Last time played SMN before Endwalker, and now by switching on it (80lvl) was absolutely confused. In the end Iv just emptied all bars and reassembled them from scratch, this video helped too, thanks!
I started playing the game a couple days ago and arcanist(summoner soon) has been the first class I've chosen. This does a very good job at explaining how the class works and how to play it from the earlier levels, it has already been quite helpful for me in game.
Thank you so much this was exactly what I needed. I am new to the game and the abilities were completely confusing me and most guides are focused on the end game.
This REALLY helped me. First time playing FFXIV and I definitely didn't' know what I was doing when I first started. This video helped me out a TON. Thank You!🙏
I started this game a little over a week, and because of busy work, i don't have that much time to spend in the game per week. So this chanel guides are a life saver for me .
Nice video, only recommendation would be to use the icon for the hunt log rather than an image of a mob to help avoid confusion. I look forward to the 50-90/100 in the future. 👍
after a like 2 year hiatus from this game exactly what i needed!! (i looked at my scholar and red mage and paladin like "NOPE" when wanting to get my hotbars rebuilt and feet wet in dailies again LOL)
This is. everything I needed. thank you so sosososososo much ;-; not sure if you're open to requests but I'd love a dragoon one... just finished ARR and am kinda using just 3 abilities :/ I feel like whenever I do Duty Finder I'm not being very nice to my teammates ;;
Brand new player, but I'm already at lvl 49, and I just now did the summoner quests. Egi's are weak, but my summoner lvling just started. I'm really looking forward to high lvl summons
You need your MSQ at level 20 ( Sylph Management ) as well as completing your Arcanist quests up to level 30, before you can get your Summoner soul stone. That's important to note.
Are you sure it's even worth getting at this point bc both NPCs in limsa lominsa keep saying that I can't talk to the guild receptionist or the guild master asking what I want to know about the guild, like what am I supposed to do on this game to get summoner and scholar
Thanks you so much for making this! I love your idiots guide series, but it’s just way too fast for me to process all that info, so I absolutely love the change of pace!
I went looking for a video like this as I just started summoner and I thought "No way its this easy, I must be doing something wrong." Turns out, nope. Rotations are exactly as I thought they were.
what materia and stats would you recommend for Arcanist and then what would you recommend on Summoner. I try to look it up and ask groups and i get nothing except 'Wait until you are max level" I like overkill, I want to take and use every advantage i can get.
I only have one charge of fester after energy drain. does this improve later im assuming? like i do my ruin, my energy drain, 2 festers, ruin, but then i don't have anymore festers to cast
...So the summons are tiny foxes...of fucking course, and the Summoner is just a buffing class, because of course it is. All the boxes of fail for a summoning class.
I always somehow get confused in rotations in ff14 since I’m not able to play it on a pc no more but instead I’m using a handheld Lenovo one I got for Christmas.. I thought it would ease things up and for some things it does but it’s like playing the game for scratch cuz of the lack of mouse and keyboard.. I’m always forced to copy/paste: playing on handheld when I’m doing dungeons or whatever 🤐
You will most likely have to bind it yourself, if you check your abilities page and press X/square on the "summon topaz" skill it will ask you to bind it to your UI. Otherwise it will probably be on the second page of your preset skills, which you can switch between by holding RB/R1 and pressing the associated button. 👍
So solo is a difficult priority to have in this game. But dragoon is simple until you get to higher levels, and stays simple as long as you don't intend to do high end raiding content. Dragoon also happens to be somewhat survivable for dps.
Hmmmmm not really defiantly would say grab the complete edition if you finish the free trial content to the end.. Subscription is required to play after free trial
Not to mean the only thing id pay for is mounts or store costumes but your lvl52+ spells are locked behind the "Before the dawn" quest which is may seem long and tiresome to get to
I like this game it is a little overwhelming. I am a 64-year-old player Your tutorial is the first one that I’ve watched that I understand so thank you
Hey, I'm new too. Do you wanna be buddies? I'm 21 if that helps at all
Welcome to the game, that’s amazing that you’re playing at 64
i hope you're enjoying the game!
45, just started today. Yep, difficult.
I hope you're still enjoying the game :D I'm 24 and i am also overwhelmed by the content in the game

Who says that lol? Literally the entire community says summoner rotation eats crayons and it’s one of the most recommended classes for noobs.

Thank you for making this! I couldn't find a good Arcanist/Summoner guide, but glad this popped into my feed!
Just started leveling summoner, thanks for the amazing guides!

Thank you for this! I haven't played since 2021 and nothing in my cast bars made the slightest sense to me when I logged in today. 😅
I am trying to pick up a caster and everyone recommended summoner. It felt overwhelming but this guide helped. Thank you.
This is a very good bare bones introduction to the class I was looking for something i could share with a friend who wants to play the game but she's not big on mechanically challenging game play and this is exactly what she needs.

*this guide
Thank you very much ! This video helped me validate the rotation I had, even as a veteran player. Keep up the good content !
Thank you so much this was exactly what I needed. I am new to the game and the abilities were completely confusing me and most guides are focused on the end game.

Perfect guide. I’m returning after a long absence. Haven’t played since shadow bringers launch.
Very excited to come back
Same! My bar was so confusing and my summons were not working 😅
As it turns out ive been doing it correct. Thanks for confirming.
Very nice video! Super easy to understand
Nice video, only recommendation would be to use the icon for the hunt log rather than an image of a mob to help avoid confusion.
I look forward to the 50-90/100 in the future. 👍
this was very helpful n ive realized how easy it was playing lancer/dragoon b4 TT _ TT (i wanted to play arcanist for scholar/healing role option tho)
Thanks, my arcanist lalafell is grateful for this guide!
after a like 2 year hiatus from this game exactly what i needed!! (i looked at my scholar and red mage and paladin like "NOPE" when wanting to get my hotbars rebuilt and feet wet in dailies again LOL)
Great video explained very simple thank you helped a lot

not sure if you're open to requests but I'd love a dragoon one... just finished ARR and am kinda using just 3 abilities :/ I feel like whenever I do Duty Finder I'm not being very nice to my teammates ;;
Whenever I cover for an summoner I’m tempted to yell *STAY AWAY FROM THE SUMMONER*
Thank you, helped a lot just started playing on Xbox. Very helpful and understandable lol
Thanks for the video very helpful 😊
Some sites refer to the use of oGCD moves in between GCD moves as "weaving". Just pointing this out in case anyone comes across this in other guides.
Brand new player, but I'm already at lvl 49, and I just now did the summoner quests. Egi's are weak, but my summoner lvling just started. I'm really looking forward to high lvl summons

Trying to figure this part out right now as I've done all Arcanist quests and up to like 27 for MSQ and still haven't gotten the soul stone.
Are you sure it's even worth getting at this point bc both NPCs in limsa lominsa keep saying that I can't talk to the guild receptionist or the guild master asking what I want to know about the guild, like what am I supposed to do on this game to get summoner and scholar

Arcanist may have a lot of buttons, but it's super intuitive on what to press.
What are your key binds and layout they look so useful- im just pressing the spells with my mouse without movement
I like to chain regular ruin with the instant topaz/emerald ruins
Megastar: physic becomes pretty useless
Me: ah not the trolling type i see lol
I went looking for a video like this as I just started summoner and I thought "No way its this easy, I must be doing something wrong."
Turns out, nope. Rotations are exactly as I thought they were.
Are you gonna do an idiot's guide for the new classes when they come out?
what materia and stats would you recommend for Arcanist and then what would you recommend on Summoner.
Do you still use fester if there’s only one enemy or use pain flare?
So what was the issue with the arcanist to warrant this rework? Feels like the prior version had less mechanics and less of a headache to manage
My problem is I'm lvl 30 but cant figure out where to go to become summoner and google doesnt help
I've relogged my account after 2 year hiatus, did they just removed Topaz Ruin and Ruby Ruin?
...So the summons are tiny foxes...of fucking course, and the Summoner is just a buffing class, because of course it is. All the boxes of fail for a summoning class.

WOOO first comment!!
Thanks but I’m a bit confused on n how to summon the topaz on controller 🤔

Completely new to ff14 been 30 years since i played a ff game...whats the top 2 job or builds for fun solo dps survivability getn my feet wet
So solo is a difficult priority to have in this game. But dragoon is simple until you get to higher levels, and stays simple as long as you don't intend to do high end raiding content. Dragoon also happens to be somewhat survivable for dps.
Make an idiots guide to ocean fishing please
What happened to bane spell
this was too fast of a tutorial
my summoner job does not look like the one as yours at all, why?
Maybe u picked Scholar instead?
Is this game “p2w”?
Hmmmmm not really defiantly would say grab the complete edition if you finish the free trial content to the end..

It's so sad how they butchered SMN.
Aww man... i really like carby's and it bums me out they get force changed.
