    Thanks for this video! I love how you break things down...and what you say makes perfect sense. But the reason for trimming returns isn't because of how it makes the base or knots look, it's so you're not constantly working hard to smooth down short hairs when you part the wig. If you're looking for a smooth style with a part, not only does the hair tangle a little at the base, but the short hairs stick up, depending on what kind of hair was used to make the wig, so it's a constant battle keeping it perfectly smooth. Sometimes I only trim returns around the hairline or in the part area.

      Yes I know the practice, they usually do it in areas where returns are overly visible or cannot be too long and they will tangle.
      I am only having long returns on the top part of the wig and the rest has them really short , but not cut

    • @keisa2011
      @keisa2011 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Super Wig Maker So exactly how long would you recommend the returns to be in each area? 2 inches in crown, 1 inch elsewhere?

    • @SuperWigMaker
      @SuperWigMaker  10 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      keisa2011
      You can watch my video about natural returns.
      For the lower parts yes 1 inch is more than enough but smaller than 1 inch is difficult cause we still need to be able to hold the fold when we ventilate, 1 inch or smaller (you could even go ahead and cut the returns in lower parts, but not too short)
      For upper parts and areas that will be visible and parted (like hairline or parting area) you can have it from 2~3 inches but feathered.
      If you watch my video about them you will understand and see the difference! It is not only about the length of the returns but also if the returns are all one length then they are visible!
      TIP: Human Hair Ventilation, natural returns

      No I am not making any courses I am located in Greece so it wouldn't be possible anyway. I also don't make any wigs or pieces for sale.

    @AJoi B I cannot reply to your comment but yes stripping the scales would help but this is something that probably only factories can make effectively and the hair in the returns would be damaged.

    Your video on Asian v. German was very very good. It answered a lot of questions I had . What is high density. Where and when in ventilating do you apply it.
    Thank you for all the advice you give.

    Hi, your videos are very informative, you're teaching me alot, thanks....I would like to know, do I have to bleach the knots after ventilating or can I just dye the lace before I start ventilating? does it make a difference?

    • @SuperWigMaker
      @SuperWigMaker  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Cheray Cayenne I ventilate everything and then I bleach the knots from the inside of the cap. this way I ensure I have only the tiny little bulb of knot bleached.

      +Super Wig Maker ok thank you, I would also like to know, is there a specific type of shampoo used to take off the bleach, so that it does not bleach the hair itself Or any shampoo will do?

    • @SuperWigMaker
      @SuperWigMaker  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Cheray Cayenne
      Well shampooing the bleach takes mere seconds and it is diluted, even if it touches the hair while it is being washed it won't bleach the hair.
      I use any type of shampoo I have to do it, the hair in the unit won't get bleached for sure.

    Do you know how to remove the cuticle like some companies with do. With an acid of chemical?

    • @SuperWigMaker
      @SuperWigMaker  9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Kim Lake Yes we had an extensive conversation buried somewhere in the comments of my videos, god knows where.
      It is called the "taki method" they submerge the hair into a solution that has a key substance potassium hydroxides solution in 1-butanolh or something) and they keep it in motion in there for some time till the scales are totally removed and whatever is not removed will eventually fall off because iti damaged.
      I wish I knew where to get my hands on that substances (do they come in a ready mixed box :D ) and do the roots of the bulk hair that will end up being the returns, this way would be able to have even loner returns to remove the unwanted short strands without having to deal with dangling base.

    Can someone help me with suggestions on how to get the returns to lay down flat when I'm parting the hair? I don't want to cut the returns short and risk shedding. Thanks in advance

    • @jasonarcher2897
      @jasonarcher2897 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It costs a little more length, but I make my returns about 3-4" rather than the standard 2." The added length makes it lay down easier, and I've never had problems with tangles.
