    Where can we buy or how can we make a men’s full lace toupee? I’m only able to find full caps, and I’ve found sheets of lace, but they are completely flat. Also LOVE LOVE LOVE this tutorial!

    • @rickygreenwell
      @rickygreenwell  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Chris I don't work with Toupee's sad to say I do theatrical wigs so I am often doing full wigs. And yes the lace is flat and you would have to shape it. www.hisandher.com/search.phtml?sp=wig+base this is were I get a lot of my remade wig bases from.

    Hi Ricky so I'm having an issue working with swiss lace. I have the Asian needle and for some reason I can not get the needle through the lace to save my life...your so good at what you do so can you give some type of pointer that might help me...please and thank you so much! Your video is awesome by the way!!!

    • @rickygreenwell
      @rickygreenwell  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Are you having trouble entering the lace or pulling the needle out after you have made a tie or the process of tying.

    • @prettyinpink2927
      @prettyinpink2927 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ricky Greenwell , I'm having a problem with the swiss lace because im guessing its because the holes are so small. So, I insert the needle in the hole of the lace...and when I go to grab the hair on the needle it picks up the hair that it wants. I go to pull the needle back through the hole with the hair on it...and the hair falls off needle and its super difficult to even pull the needle back through the hole...I don't know how to fix this problem...I practice and on that lace because i figured that the swiss lace is the best lace for frontal and it makes the hairline look so natural...what are your thoughts...please I really need your help...should I try another lace or stick with this pain in my butt lace? Lol

  • @LillyLaRose
    @LillyLaRose 13 ปีที่แล้ว

    I love your video Ricky! I'm starting out with synthetic hair too and it is really hard to work with but it's cheap and I can get a lot of it. Your video shows the process the best I think of all the ones on TH-cam, thank you! But I'm having trouble with the last part when I pull the hair through the loop, the rest of the hair I'm holding in my left hand will bunch up and separate! Then I loose speed having to flatten, and loop the hair again. Am I holding the hair wrong or too tight?

  • @rickygreenwell
    @rickygreenwell  11 ปีที่แล้ว

    the Single vs Double is a preference most people use a single but a double can be more secure. so it is often used in the crown of a wig. I hold the loop of the hair at the end I want a little of the root end sticking up in the wig.

    • @rickygreenwell
      @rickygreenwell  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Jaye L when I loop the hair I hold the cut blunt end of the hair that is the end getting knotted. I only hold enough of a loop to knot. You need to find what feels right for you I have a fairly small loop.

I pulled out a lot of the hair in a detangling session and now I need to repair it. How long do you make the returns if ventilating virgin remy hair? Do you cut them back after ventilation so they do not tangle with the main hair? I am having problems understanding this as none of my wig making books say anything about cutting them back, but other people say that if you don't the hair will matt at the root especially when it is washed.
