His expressions of concern for his allies ( Sonic ) is honestly really charming... Kind of depressing that this Shadow is gone, losing his memory really made him into a different person.
This is my favorite shadow. I love the Jason griffith shadow, and I even love the Kirk Thornton shadow still, however. This Shadow has the widest range for emotions and his voice is more expressive. Its not a constant deep, edgy wisper type voice. Its got emotion and some sophistication to it.....its an interesting voice.
Ngl, i wish some of the adventure cast got the chance to reprise their role for the movies, I don’t hate Hayden but I wish David Humphrey got to play Shadow again.

Shadow is a hedgehog because Gerald based his design on the ancient prophecies of Super Sonic (hence why Shadow's quills are angled up the way Sonic's are when he goes super). So Shadow isn't necessarily saying here that Sonic is the ultimate life form that Gerald created, but he is what Gerald based his design for the ultimate life form on, in a way making Sonic the true ultimate life form.

peep the slight british/transaltlantic accent in some of the lines. its very subtle but its there. i think it was added in consideration that shadow was created around the 1950s, so it kind of makes sense how he’d have a slight accent that was popular within the 30s to 50s tv shows.
I truly like this shadow voice, cause taking away that's the first shadow of all, it sounds like a guy purehearted that recieved chaos powers only to save humanity, ending up being corrupted by them because of the murder of his only "family" giving him the desire of revenge and destruction. Not being an edgelord that doesn't matter about anything and only make things by himself and forcing his voice to be really deep, too whispered and quiet. I really love that shadow voice style, but I also love Griffith's voice cuz its also unique, but Humphrey really made a good job and it needs to be more rated in my opinion

this shadow voice has a certain restraint and subtlety to it that I really love. Yes it’s a dramatic character voice, but he changes his delivery to let the emotion show through shadows usual stoic nature. He also sounds much younger than the future shadow voices which I think adds to his character as someone who’s still figuring out his purpose.

Sonic Heroes is definitely his best performance, but David sounded completely necessary for SA2. His tone is also very smooth and calming like Scott Dreier as Knuckles. He ranks at the top and is tied with Koji Yusa (Shadow’s JP VA.) As of now, with people forgetting about how magnificent David was because of Kirk’s improvements in SxSG: DB and because of Keanu (still have hopes for Keanu,) I genuinely wish people appreciated him much more. And I know I said some harsh things about Jason’s take, which I realized I was wrong about him too, and he’s grown on me. He also did a good job as Shadow and really brought out the stoic side of Shadow’s character which fits for his character development by 06, but it sometimes sounded like he was trying too hard on some lines and there was a less wider range of emotions compared to David. He sounded great in S&TR and I’ll even count Black Knight, even though he sounded less distinct from Sonic there. And Kirk I simply cannot vibe with. He’s admittedly gotten better but still sounds too old and he can’t escape the rasp and edgy tone in his voice, which is a shame since he’s a good actor, but it doesn’t feel like Shadow as much as David to me.
