    To say I'm really excited to review this wheel would be an understatement, simply because a formula wheel with an integrated colour LCD dash is something we've been wanting to see from an OEM wheel base manufacturer (cough FANATEC cough) for so long.
    It's not all good news though, so let's dive in and see how the Moza Racing FSR wheel stacks up!

    How is it possible MOZA can release a whole ecosystem of simracing gear in just 9 months, including 4 dd wheelbases, 4 steering wheels and 3 pedal sets, while we still waiting for Trustmaster's first dd wheelbase?

      Another thing to bare in mind, fanatec would want demand to be high, so slowing down production keeps demand high and prices high, I think they like everyone else didn't expect for someone like moza to come so far so fast and be a direct competitor for them. I think fanatec all of a sudden will up production and prices will likely drop a bit aswell

      Looks a great product. Chewing the fat with you on this one, do you think the alpha for the Fanatec dashboard and mobile app is a prelude to a similar product or are they just testing for the Bentley wheel?

    I gambled a bit on MOZA being newer to the sim racing community, i decided to build my setup around MOZA and honestly I couldn’t be happier, super stoked for this steering wheel because the down side of MOZA only their wheels work with the base. So great to see them adding to the lineup

    • @gonuts4donuts
      @gonuts4donuts ปีที่แล้ว +14

      My Cube Control wheel works on my R9. Yes, only Moza wireless wheels work with the base. But any plain wheel rim or USB wheel works with Moza bases as long as it has a QR that fits the hub.

    • @tarushdei
      @tarushdei ปีที่แล้ว +17

      This is a common misconception regarding the Moza ecosystem. They need to clear it up a whole lot more the more popular they become.
      ANY USB wheel rim can connect to a Moza wheelbase with the NRG style quick connect, it just won't interface with the wheelbase via the bluetooth/software system.
      All you need is a USB rim (even a DIY Arudino build will work) and it'll run on the Moza wheelbase.

    Love what Moza are doing and with the release of their R5 bundle I’m sure companies like Thrustmaster are quietly trembling. While the Moza bases are extremely good value, I feel their wheels for the most part are too expensive and their needs to be more budget variations available. Their R9 is $699 AUD while the GS wheel is $799. If they had a $300 open wheel then you could get a R9 combo for $1000. This is the only thing stopping me at this point from selling all my Thrustmaster kit and moving over. I have a heavily customized TM open wheel so am waiting on their DD release to make my final decision. I’d love if TM could bring out a R9 and R16 counterpart as I could buy the base on its own and have a decent set up. If Moza had a GT wheel that was around half the price of the GS, I’d already be driving one.

Tbh if I was to start buying everything from the beginning, I would srsly consider Moza and Simagic, Will previously have a beef with simagic so he will no longer do a review for them so we wont get any more review for simagic but both QR for simagic + moza looks awesome. I bought a pack of like 20 for 5$ and put a pair on my GS wheel the sound is significantly reduced and it has a shorter travel and less resistance. Was the sim racing community clamoring for another expensive wheel? While competition is good, wth I'd like Moza to come out with a GT/formula wheel under $300 please.
    ... and I just watched your other review of the new Moza base and wheel. Holy hell Moza really bringing it!

    • @boostedmedia
      @boostedmedia  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Correct. You’ll need a Fanatec hub and QR (or an emulator) to enable FFB on the Fanatec base. And the wheel will need to be connected via USB to the PC directly.

  • @rickswanracing3139
    @rickswanracing3139 ปีที่แล้ว +11

    Have to say that if they create an LMP screen for this wheel and introduce a GT3 D style wheel... pretty solid chance I may abandon my Fanatec CSL DD setup. I DO like my Fanatec setup but there are behaviors that the company is doing I am not impressed with, combine with lack of options and in some cases extreme pricing. I'd really like the BMW GT3 wheel to go with my BMW Sim cockpit... but $1600 is insane. Moza should theoretically inspire competition in the wheel community, sadly i dont think that the competition is going to take it more seriously. MOZA has my attention for sure..

    • @jacoblarsen4633

      When buying Moza you have to calculate import taxes and insane shipping prices (for some countries at least). I am waiting for fanatec to come in stock, so I checked out Moza to see if I should buy from them instead. 204€ for shipping + 25% VAT + 12% import tax + 20€ fee. This turns my 1000€ purchase into a 1705€ purchase.
      I'll wait for Fanatec then. A 1000€ purchase these will only cost me 30€ shipping.
      I can get Moza at local resellers though, but no stock and prices are not really better. So for us EU customers Fanatec is actually cheaper. No hidden costs.

  • @jonferraez
    @jonferraez ปีที่แล้ว +5

    The price is a bit high I think, it uses the same quality screen as the $35 VoCore 4.3" LCD you can add to any rig. I don't like that the display does not have SimHub support, the analog sticks to the left and right by your thumbs don't seem that useful to me. You need to buy a mount accessory to attach it to a non-Moza wheel, so add likely $50 there at $700. For that total price you could get a CSL DD base with a McLaren GT3 V2 and SimMakerZ carbon fiber paddle shifters, which will retain the analog clutch, and likely if you live in North America the shipping will be $50 just for the Moza wheel. Hopefully more players will enter the market to compete for better wheels that aren't so pricey, which like what happened last year with DD wheel bases.
