    I had my 2-car garage “professionally done ($2000). It looked great, and was a contributing factor in the ultimate sales a few years later. Never should have sold my house. You and your Dad will be glad you did this ultimate upgrade to your homes!

    For people considering doing this to their garage, get a hand held seed feeder for the flakes, it helps tremendously to give even flakes.

    I would love to see you guys restore the 99 Silverado! I just did my 03 over the last year or so. Tore it down to a bare frame, no bed, cab, suspension, nothing. Disassembled all of the suspension components etc, cleaned everything up, repaired anything that wasn’t perfect, welded on some beefier upper “shock” mounts for a coilover conversion I will be doing in the near future. Repaired any body rust on the bed & cab. Refreshed the engine & transmission with some upgraded parts. Replaced all of the old suspension bushings & cab mounts. And many many weeks later it is almost done, just needs a new paint job. Besides that though I’m very pleased with how everything came out. Im very happy that I took the time to do everything right, even without the new paint it’s still looking (and especially driving) WAY better then it ever has!

    Exactly 20 yrs ago I did my garage with a Rustoleum epoxy kit I got at Home Depot. It still look good except for tire marks. Now I want to refresh it with this kit you just used at your father's house. I will have to rent a machine to remove the old epoxy and prepare for the new one. BTW when spreading flakes you throw them in the air like confettis at a wedding. You can get spiked shoes for epoxy floor on Amazon for $16.

    The parts of the concrete where it didn’t stick was most likely a low spot on the concrete and the grinder couldn’t get to it. You can get it eventually but will just take extra time. I do epoxy floors for a living.

    • @LonestarHawaiian

      I believe you can just do an acid etch to open up the pores. We ground the floors down because of all the oil that had been spilt over the years.

      @skatenpro 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The best way is to grind the concrete. Even though it’s brand new concrete you have to open up the pores. I have had to redo floors because the last person did a acid wash and started chipping up later after some where and tear. If your on a budget that floor system will be sufficient. If you are looking for something more durable and scratch free and have the money hire someone to do a professional epoxy floor. If you want to go that way I can point you in the right direction. I do epoxy floors for a living.

    You were losing me throughout the video by keep going off topic lol. I want to do this to my one car garage. In the beginning you mentioned the scratches on your floor. What can be done to prevent scratches? It looks pretty shiny but can you add a protective clear coat on top of it as well? Is it slip resistant if say you come in from driving in the rain or snow and the floor gets wet. Will you easily slip? What is the name of the tool you rented from Home Depot to prepare the garage floor? I saw a video that said Rustoleum Epoxy will start to come up after about a year or so. Any truth to that? I’m sure it’s all about how well you prepare the cement before you apply the epoxy right? Thanks and sorry for all my questions lol
