I just did Rocksolid in my garage yesterday. I wanted to tell you that after watching 15 different diy videos I felt yours gave me the best representation on what to expect. It seems to have worked out great 👍. Thank you for helping!
one of the most comprehensive videos on rocksolid flooring thank you!! and i love the shot you did at the end where the garage door closed and opened showing the new one.
After watching this video, I applied Rock Solid to half of my shop floor, 800 SF. Scrubbed the floor first with a commercial degreaser/cleaner. Applied Rust-oleum Recoat and Primer and let it dry for 12 hours. Used three bags of the Rock Solid and it covered the entire area. This is exactly the coverage that is claimed by Rust-Oleum. Did not apply any color chips. Added the Rust-Oleum Anti Skid to the bags while I was mixing it. Came out beautiful. Not perfect, but I am completely satisfied with the results. Planning to do the rest of the shop floor before winter. Thank you for this video. I only used half the recommended amount of anti Skid to each bag. That was more than enough. The Anti Skid will sink to the bottom of the bag, so be sure to remix the bag before each pour to keep the Anti Skid evenly dispersed on the floor.
Thank you for the tip!! We really regret not adding the anti-skid to ours. I have slipped a few times coming in from the rain, it can be very slippery! To help with this, we added a little garage runner to avoid this in the future. Thank you for sharing this tip and I am so glad it worked out well for you!!
OMG finally I found someone who has done it with one 2.5 kit. I have a two car garage and bought the 2.5 kit, then my wife was watching all those dam video of people saying you have to have two 2.5 kits for a two car garage. lol Thanks
I have a 24x25 new garage. Floor was poured in July. Purchased 1 2 car and 1 1 car kit. Installation guide say 1 bag will cover 200-250 sq ft. I have 600 sq ft. I had to purchase another 3 bags to cover the floor.
The clips of the footage oooks like the concrete absorbed some of the epoxy and showed the grains do the concrete. I did my garage using this kit and found that I shoulda used another 1 car garage on top of the 2.5 garage kit. I am doing my dads garage this weekend and planning on using two 2.5 car garage for his two car garage. Lol. The thicker parts of my garage looks so damn good compared to the thinner parts.
You totally can! It was much easier than we thought! We actually don't park our vehicles in the garage because we have soooo many large tools so we set it up like a workshop. But we finished the floor and then 2 days later we moved into the house and had the garage filled with boxes, totes, tools and furniture and we had no issues if that helps!
Thanks for the warnings that it really doesn't cover 2 1/2 cars worth, and that it is necessary to spread it as far as possible/ Perhaps that will get me my 2.5 car area.
Why did you guys decide to put the epoxy on the floors in the garage? What are the advantages? I’ve heard some people don’t like it so I would like to know from you since you’ve had it for a little while now… Now you need to paint the walls in the garage. Great job! Thank you for making this video
We decided to do it for a few reasons. First, it looks really nice. Our plan is to turn the garage into a workshop so we will be spending a lot of time out there. Second its easy to keep clean and it feels cleaner when you walk out there. Its easy to Sweep and mop up spills, sawdust, etc. We keep an extra fridge out there (the garage is off our kitchen) so walking in bare feet in and out of the garage is nicer on an epoxy floor. Plus, our daughter likes to go in and out to see what we are working on and its a better experience walking on overall. So far its held up really well and it was totally worth the time and cost.
Hi guys, how is this floor holding up? Usually we do a diamond grind to get rid of any stains etc and to create a mechanical key bond to the existing floor, then a prime coat, base coat with flake and a final top sealer coat!
The floor is holding up really well! This was our first time doing this so I am sure we made some mistakes. I don't expect this floor to last forever but given the tight time frame we had to get it done, I think we did OK for our first time. So far, its holding up and looks great! We have no regrets!
So far it has help up really well! The ONE regret having is not putting the non-slip top coat on because it does get slippery when you walk in from the rain, but otherwise we are thrilled with it!

It’s because of the thickness it’s better to have more and have a thick coat than a thin coat . . It will last longer

Doing mine soon. This looks awesome!

Nailed it! You did an excellent job, and I feel like I can tackle it, too. How soon were you able to park your vehicle on it?

Great job cool video
Hi Witty!
Awesome video! Thanks!!!
How is the painting holding on after 1 year? Any complaints besides being a little slippery?
It has now been more than a year and it is still holding up great!

Thak you!
Do the mixing dance 😂
How soon after painting did you remove the tape?
When did you remove the blue tape? Did it peel off the coating when you remove the tape? Thanks!
Did you put clear coat?
What are the measurements of the garage, I know many are different, so im wondering if the stalls is less accurate than the 400-500 sqft
Do you park yalls cars inside the garage
We do not, we set up our garage like a workshop but we do park a motorcycle and a golf cart in there along with all my daughters "Vehicles" lol
Has it held up? any peeling?

To bad she never said what the actual measurements of the garage were 😢
Has the floor peeled yet ?
Not at all! Its holding up really well!
Have you ever park in the garage?

You should wear mask and gloves also eye protection. That paint is very bad to breed in. In end not bad.
Thanks! I probably should have had on PPE, the good news it, the garage door was open so it was well ventilated. Will do better next time!
