I like my Arrma stuff but I do think you're right about the value of the RC & parts cost. The sweet spot for me with Arrma is their 6S lineup. I busted a lower arm in my X-Maxx today and that'll cost me $10 @ my LHS and a I'll be back in business in 15 mins.

The 8S is cool but for me if mine got to that point I might just part it out the Kraton and Outcast are just to dang heavy for their own good. The Xmaxx and Xrt are heavy but its not the same they are more durable I keep bending axles on the Arrma. I truly enjoy the 6s lineup its a great size, and the power to weight is amazing and even the 4s is a rocket. Hey Earl seriously try Team Corally get a Kagama its crazy fast and powerful you can back flip right on ground its the fastest stock off road I have I think you might like it.

Please just stfu, you can barely drive the rc's you have been buying. You're the only person complaining about bent drive shafts, i have owned the Outcast V2 since October 2023 and dont have the "problem" to speak of. And those traxxas Rc's you mention torque twist and bend all over the place, that's why they appear to be more durable, go ask Richduperbash and RCdiude81 why they dont feature Xmaxx's and XRT's in their videos if they are so durable LOL.

Great info👍Parts are way too expensive. It is frequently better to buy a roller or wait for a sale. I'll never forget Losi selling 1/10 unpainted truggy bodies for over $65 retail. Some of these companies make no sense on pricing.

It’s not just $100 cheaper to rebuild that’s not worth it , it’s also the time you’re sinking into these things. You can’t get your time back

Arrma discontinued the EXB roller last year. They were originally 599 or 699 when 1st released. They dropped them to 399 which I wished I grabbed an extra just for spare parts.

I found a place in Florida that is selling the roller for 599.99 but doesn't have free shipping. (in stock) At that price I would get a new roller if I knew in advance how much it needed in parts and then save the old one for spare parts.

For me it would be worth it to fix. I like the wrenching better than running sometimes. I also would do it cheaper as I don't have a hobby shop with arrma within a 2 hour one way drive so I shop Jennys quite a bit and would not have replaced the body as I believe it was repairable. Also I don't run anything 8s. the 6s stuff is a little cheaper to fix but I agree the arrmas can be spendy. Im just not much for Traxxas.

I love this beast, but.... for the price you'd really want to.
Nearly $2400 Australian to get it on the road stock. Unfortunately the first time I got it wet, (light rain, 1 inch puddle) the ESC packed it in. And living in Australia, trying to get it fixed under warranty is not easy. We dont have the support our European or American RC family have.
I haven't driven it now for 2 mnths and I'm seriously considering just buying a new ESC. ($450 ish) idk ??
Just a note- average wage in Oz is apparently $1900. (Way higher than I thought) But that's around $400 more than I earn as a Excavator operator.

I love the O8S EXB. I like mine better than my xmaxx. The thing with this hobby is you will never get your money back out of it. Its worth it to me to put money into my outcast to keep it running. I know the cost adds up especially when you start putting in aftermarket upgrades. Just part of it in my opinion. On a side note, thank you for what you do for the hobby. You make a lot of very informative videos and always try to give the best advice.

Hey its been a while, the Arrma EXB 1/5 scale Outcast has been discontinued just the exb Mojave roller. You can still purchase the exb Outcast but you can only buy the Mojave in the original version.
