Thanks for posting this. It's great to see material like this done by people who actually know what they're talking about. I hope to see more. Here's a potential topic: How to choose an oil filter for your vehicle.
You are the man Andrew.... Really appreciate your work here. Hope you had a good holiday season. Remember... You are making it happen. One day at a time.
Thank you Andrew. Great videos. May I ask: In your experience, would you say lower fluid velocity (or greater filter surface area) gives noticeably better filtration efficiency? If so, does this apply to both single and multi-pass tests? Thanks again.
what's the maximum temperature an oil filter paper can handle? I'm installing the Magnefine transmission filter - and they said they tested it to 300 degrees?
Wow that Wix XP bypass valve has got me worried. I am glad that the Wix filters I use have the thread end bypass. So I take it that the Fram Ultra filter performed best in this test?
The Fram certainly passed and showed no strange holes. No way to tell which is best at this point in our testing protocol. You have to keep in mind this was only one test on one filter (WixXP) so statistically it is insignificant, so I wouldn't worry too much J.
@@andrewschneider5381 ..."so statistically it is insignificant"... I'm impressed that you point that out. Some think an anecdote makes makes a scientific finding. It doesn't.

No, but it is possible to send a particle through the compressed air and tear the media. I run a the air through a filter to prevent that. It's really a non destructive test in our case. Sterol pharmaceutical filters would be a very different case for example.
Hi Kricard1, I made one but I didn't like it so I am making another. The Efficiency/capacity test have been complete for some time. I will get it to you.
Well! That was a great display of how to test a filter. Nice to see someone who is conduction proper tests!
I appreciate that David, Thank you!
The crazy music playing in the background is making me reach my bubble point.
That music sucks.
You're right, he should be like every other tool out there and listen to that new, tasteless, garbage rap/hip hop noise made by untalented losers.
Have you done any testing on reusable stainless steel oil filters? Such as K&P engineering or Flo.

Thanks Brad!
Have you tested reusable filters like HUBB or bypass full flow Trasko oil filter ? If not why not?
Good and Inspiring, Andrew. The second calculation "largest pore size", what formula is used? thanks
Thank you for posting , great info !!!!!!!!
I am glad you enjoyed it! Thank you very much for watching!

Please do the efficiency test video.
Great Video!👍

Great video, thanks!
I am glad you liked it!
I would like to see the same test applied to chinese crap filters. Maybe we would have a surprise !
It would be interesting to see how they do.
Often the price determines the quality.
Fascinating stuff!
Thank you, I am really happy you enjoyed it!
I like your style man
Thank you Chuck! Somehow I think I deleted your comment by accident. I will try to get it back up here.
DRY HANDS...........much, lately?

@@faxmen09 Yes, it would be nice to get a nice sample lot representation for quality testing.

Very good video , no need for the music .
Thank you! Yes I will leave the music out of the next one. I have been getting beat up over that.
Is there any afect from running the filter in reverse of application?

This video reminds me that I'm hopeless at maths...Thanks for nothin' man :P
Thanks, oddly interesting……
Where is the 3rd video?

the background music isn't loud and annoying enough
