This was the height of anxiety of me from ages 7-17. Was never good enough for AAA but I made it enough times to the final tryout to keep my hopes up. AA is where I would stay
For 5 years i was the last goalie to get cut from AAA every year. One of them moved so I finally had my chance. Coach picks the other AA goalie because their dads worked together. Just about sums up rep hockey.
@@evanzemba115yep, I didn’t realize how political picking teams was until I got older. You better hope your parents are friends with the coach, otherwise coach is picking his other friends kid over you. Even if you’re a better player.
Yep I never understood why my dad was so stressed over this, I made the team and now I know the kinda strings you had to pull, grateful he pushed because otherwise idk if I go as far as I do
This feels too real to be a sketch. Like the way the second guy plays being a subordinate but competent and valuable. It doesn't feel like acting it just looks like you guys filmed a real conversation. The way he looks at the coach. The expressions. Honestly he made the sketch and his role couldve broken it. 10/10.
remember their looking for more than skill. They're looking for integrity and sportsmanship. Having a blowout game, and then going hard on the cellies can lose you a spot.
Every single hockey coach i had acted like they had absolutely no emotion 😂😂😂. One of them worked for the FBI..... That dude never made any other face. Never smiled or got mad.
Apparently imports aren't a thing anymore... which is awesome for kids nowadays. Import rule did nothing good for any young players. What's that, you are a talented player who wants to play in the GTHL? Ya good luck bud, go get 6 releases from the OMHA... draft year with 1 release left, "nope we won't release you. We are going to take 8 D". Not one player got injured that entire season... lazy coach just rolled the lines... not a single kid on our team was drafted and we did well as team, 2nd place. God damn import slots. Haven't thought about this in 15 years 😂
It always felt good when coaches would have these discussions around like three or four of us. They act like they don’t know we’re there, but they know. And they’re intentionally close enough for us to hear, so that just our little group knows… it isn’t our parents that’ll be mad 😂
I've said it before dude but the way you play these characters, it's exagerrated, in a way where you can tell your doing a character, but it's much more realistic and believable to the point where I could see almost everything being said in a real conversation. Great job dude! Props to the other guy as well, great acting.
This was too well acted i felt like i was watching a childhood tale 😭
Acting? I thought this was a documentary
I thought that was a video recording of my coach
Bro the acting, so good. Love it.
If somebody told me it was hidden camera I would believe them :D
It ain’t acting if it happens. You know coaches like that smell like Summer’s Eve
My dad’s a head coach and the “-look at the wheels!” Is probably the most realistic line in this entire video lololol
Was it?? Fuckin bot comment
Without seeing the players, I completely agree.

O'Brien had it coming

Poor parents😂😂😂 ur dream ends here. Try with the next kid.

10/10 acting. See these guys in Hollywood

Aren't we all just acting these days?
Hollywood is over😅
McCray pissies them off, still keeps him 😂
They would know the best kids going into it already.
Can't cut Dougie. He's a pillar of the community in Charlestown!
McCray has a history of showing up when it really matters with a little more discipline he could go far
😂 his daddy’s the top donater
McCray’s dad funds the team bus with his yearly team donation tax write off from his gravel truck company.
Forreal this acting is grade A TH-cam skit, freakin top shelf!
I think you mean Grade AAA
They want to cut McCray SO BAD but he’s *too damn good*
Hahaha
“Who’s that?”
“O’Brian. North stars.”
“Cut ‘em” 😂😂😂
I agree
French kid from Sherbrooke too real
Those quebecois kids just fucking fly man, I don’t get it.
I find this to be very accurately acted out to the point where its not entertaining 😂😂
Agreed😂
Bringing up childhood trauma for yah awwww I’m sowry 😂😂😂 no for real tho I’m sorry don’t take this the wrong way 😂

I don’t even watch hockey, but I’m very invested in the team they’re building. They could go all the way this year!
These gthl sketches really hit home and fire up the nostalgia💯
Thanks for letting me keep a spot coach!
Great job mcrae
Tighten it up McRae. Hanging on by a thread maybe get off the socials
I dont know why, but this was absolutely compelling.
This is like the hockey version of Ted Lasso. i'm like "yo where's the rest of the episode"

This is the best comment, these two would be awesome on the bulldogs staff.
Never played hockey, but still like watching these because the acting is so solid
This hit home. I remember having a killer tryout with the rangers when I was a kid trying to move up from AA with the Huskies and they passed on me.

Incredible accuracy. Oakville hockey guys convinced they know what's going on.
Coach McCray at tryouts 😅
Amazing acting. I was actually so immersed. immersion is important these days

I have a friend named McCray. They would definitely talk about him like this. 😂 damn it, McCray
I’ve never seen better skit acting
The whole team was picked months prior but that try out money be helping out during training camp
"God damn it McCray take a seat! You're working the door...." Poor McCray.
I like the subtle fact that #79 got cut. Anyone rocking 79 is an absolute duster anyway 😂
You guys are gonna be insanely famous. This acting is phenomenal
Unreal acting 😂 it’s actually spot on
Idk why this guy popped up on my shorts but every one is spot on lol

they should do the conversation after this when the AA team beats the AAA team in a pre season exhibition game.
