In This War Of Mine you do not play as an elite soldier, rather a group of civilians trying to survive in a besieged city; struggling with lack of food, medicine and constant danger from snipers and hostile scavengers. The game provides an experience of war seen from an entirely new angle.

I like the contrast between the vividly coloured and detailed scene of the soldiers firefight. Showing modern equipment, demonstrations of combat experience and a booming soundtrack as they engage their enemy…
And the sudden jump to the darkly coloured, sketch-like interior of the house of the scared people who too are paying the price of war. Despite having never called for it.
One of the Best Game Trailer I have ever seen, It touches your heart and mind, with the Superb Artistic Graphics and Wonderful Music.

The composition of the video really is beautiful, the "body language(?)" (for lack of a batter term) communicates a ton.
I find myself thinking about the difference between "enlisted" and "embattled".

When the war in Ukraine started, the devs of this game gave all revenue this game received over the next week or 2 to charity helping people in Ukraine.
It scares me on how realistic the situation is.
OMG !!, Playing War games for 20 years but never though this way, "In War, Not everyone is a Soldier".
What a profound and obvious it is but you may never realize it until or unless you face the situation.

Yet in so many of those war games we saved civilians and did witness that not everyone is a soldier.
So, Im a Serb, this game is truly something to behold. Your inspiration , your ability to show us immersion of war from those misfortune souls of war. Im glad tho, this game shows only that and not politics.
Altho clearly inspired by Yugoslavian Civil War. At least I see reference in the trailer, and that model of Armored Vehicle. Know as simply BOV.
It was not an easy game to make because of the topic. But we believed (and we still do!) that creating it was a very important thing to do. Perhaps quite risky from business standpoint - nonetheless much needed in our modern world.

FINALLY! Something new and refreshing, I've always wanted a game telling the stories of people ravaged by the effects of the murderous wars in real life that call of duty for example make it seem like a fun shooting gallery. I hope yall have an enriching gruesome story, and not some blandmultiplayer survival shooter. Yall are my heroes for doing this, thank yous so much!
I just hope it is a storied game and not a strategy game like the survival in papers please was.

LOVEUNBOUND I think the last good one was Modern Warfare 1. It still had interesting story. But since then it was a suckfest.

I do believe that is what they did. They took pictures and "animation" frames of people from the dev team. I think a dev member even said how much more real and horrible the game became to him since he actually knows the people in it.
Oh god. This is going to hit me a little too close to home. My earliest memories were of refugee camps and moving a lot.........I'm not sure I'd be comfortable playing it. Maybe that's why I should.

This War Of Mine... One of the most heart wrenching games I've ever played. Remains and will remain one of my favorite games ever. I wish 11 Bit Studios luck on all future endeavors and hope they put as much love into the game later on as they do now.

This looks cool and painful at the same time: the funny part is you play it at an different angle, the painful is the killing and injuries you see as an civilian... this though is one of the best well thought things i have EVER seen, good job! Make this the thing i NEVER forget!!!

I thought I would just swing by and say this: I've played This War of mine and it is easily one of the best games I've ever played. So from the bottom of my heart I say this, thanks to everyone who was involved in the production of this game. It really helped me gain a new perspective on a lot of very important things in life.

Don't know why but somehow it reminds me of Spec Ops The Line
Well Spec Ops explores the realism of war by putting the player on an environment full of death and misery, while at the same time showing how videogames portrayal violence is juvenile rather than mature. I can totally see those thematics been part of this game. I hope this game approaches the subject matter in an insightful and mature way.

I don't recall that a game trailer ever left me with both shivers down my spine and tears in my eyes. Maybe it's because every day I see civilians who still bare the scars of their wars from 15 and 22 years ago. Maybe it's because it's just a very powerful concept.
I'm very happy that 11 Bit Studios choose this concept for their game and not the stereotypical unrealistic heroic narrative of war. Everybody who went through a war knows it's nothing like all the shooters out there. I have nothing against those games themselves, but realistic they are not and the way they sometimes brainwash people into believing that war is like these games is at least a bit worrying.

I have been a gamer for years, but this was the first time I called for a sick day at work to keep playing!
I love it! It would be cool if you could interact with soldiers in some way, whether it's trying to get supplies or patching one up.

I know this game is about surviving in a warzone as a civilian, but I feel like it would be interesting to be able to play as a group of soldiers as well, in a dlc or something. It’s not like soldiers don’t see a lot of horrible things too.

This is the game that we need, it shows what are the effects of war and post-war , nobody cares about stupid FPS military games, we want to know how people are suffering during the war.

Yeah really looking forward to this. I´ve loved 11 bits previous games, their production quality is very high for indies and this is sounding like an excellent concept for a proper SP survival game, my hopes are high.
