@@L12Bong what I mean is I want Sunderland to start acting like a big club again cos for far to long now this club acts like an average club, because of being stuck in league one for 4 seasons to many people go on like being back in the championship and staying there for a long time is a great achievement, until this club is back in the prem it will continue to under achieve and the standards and expectations among the fan base will continue to drop, I know it's looking like being a load of rubbish but I thought we were going to be looking up for a change with talk of the club being up for sale but now that it seems like a load of rubbish I'm afraid that we're going to be stuck in this division for a long time or worse cos I just don't see any long term progression or ambition under this regime, I want change but unfortunately I don't think I'm gonna get my wish, maybe one day but i just hope that it's not to late by then

I fully appreciate what you are saying, but to act like a big club again the need is for owners who are brilliantly business minded and driven to come in and raise the club upwards and beyond controversial. You have to believe that the current owners want that too because if you don't, then you don't believe in your club! I believe the fear that SAFC fans have is the club becoming stagnant. I don't think SAFC will be stagnant or mediocre for that long and will be back in the top flight. We just have to be patience and hope for good football to return like last season.
The downward spiral that SAFC took under Ellis Short was due to an ineptitude of almost titanic proportions unseen at any Premier League club since. The incompetence of Ellis Short's advisors subsequent to the Drumaville Consortium walking away (bad idea) was shocking and lessons have been learned and I'm certain the current owners will have drawn up a plan outlining the failings of Short's bungling, greedy regime and to never let happen again! A badly run club which was embarrassing and we let them run up astronomical debts!
I want SAFC to get back to the Premier League, I just don't want some knacker coming in like Stuart Donald with no plan and the overview of subsequently selling on for profit. Where were the big business minded people when Donald was hovering like a vulture?!! At least KLD has money and an advisor and is stabilising my club! Why would anyone be happy that this kid who incidentally is worth a fortune, walk away from SAFC?
Can't see why club would announce a major SOL upgrade if they were planning to sell. KLD is spending money for the longer term - extending player contracts and improving academy pathway.
When you sell a house usually give it a makeover and could increase value of asset.

It didn't work out with Grigg but at least the previous regime took a gamble on a proven goal scorer, under this regime we'd be lucky if we ever spent more than 3 million on a player
@@ThaneME2 But we're no longer overpaying for mediocrity on stupid wages that makes them impossible to move on and we just end up letting them walk away for a massive loss or for free. At least the current model is finacially sustainable. As frustrating as it might be, I'd rather we kept to the current model which ooccasionally unearths gems that we can move on for a profit (and ideally reinvest) rather than continually overpaying for ageing journeymen.

KLD and team got us out of Division 1. First season back in the Championship we made the play off semi final. Second season back we were again going well with Mowbray until that disastrous decision to replace him. They will acknowledge that decision as a mistake and learn from it. Overall then good people to have at the helm. What miracles are people looking for in an owner?

All the signs over recent months suggest the owners have lost all interest. Left as it is, things are on the verge of turning significantly toxic (which they must be aware of). Any new owners need to indicate commitment and integrity. Retaining the likes of Ballard, Neil and Clarke would be a good start.

Have all the people demanding big investment read and understood the FFP rules? I doubt it! Do they know we haven't made a profit for a very very long time. Do they want to risk being the next Reading? To compete with the relegated clubs financially we would have to spend so much that if we failed to get promoted it would be an immediate points deduction.
