As an owner of an '05 Heritage, this Icon looks good. I'm not a fan of the cheap saddlebags though and the lack of fender tip lights. They should have included the older leather bags. Thanks for sharing your insight on it.
Think about it 1957 was the last year of the hardtail or rigid frames so softail makes more sense then the touring frame.Now if it was a 58 the touring c

Actually the Dyna chassis would make more sense to recreate the duo glide being that the Dyna was meant to mimic the four spd. frame.

Hey Barry. Yeah... I kind of agree with you on that one. I was a bit confused in the beginning but overall it's a great bike. Very well balanced and definitely a nice collector's bike too. I will have to make another video showing what I would build if I wanted a classic bike. It will surprise a lot of people.
It's a Heritage Softail in disguise isn't it?
@@travelinben1966 It sure is! But better. If you want the cool version this is the bike for you. If you want to customize a bike, buy a base model heritage and have fun making it your own for a lot more money.

It needs real leather saddlebags, without the plastic crap.
It's not "based off a softail platform" like it's somehow slightly different...it's the exact same softail frame as the others.
Based off the softail platform as opposed to a touring one. Makes perfect sense to word it that way for people who don't know anything about the model and might make assumptions.

Yes, it looks like a collector's edition, a dust collector's edition. Come on HD, give me something that I can wheel into the driveway so my wife can say, "Finally, you bought it", rather than "You paid how much for that, you've got to be kidding me".
Absolutely some model confusion there. In regards to the base Heritage I stand by what I said. It makes sense to buy it and the price is reasonable when heads up. I think what you're probably referring to is in general? I'm curious to know more about your dream offering from HD.

Last year's Highway King was just a Road King Classic with retro paint and a police seat.
@@markman7 That's pretty much what most of the Icons are though. They take a current model and make the modern version of the old one. It's cool since you can't get an old one anymore, but there needs to be something unique about it to justify the price tag and the rarity in regards to it being limited edition (numbered).
