Whoever decided that using red for the power/toughness of creatures was a good idea needs to rethink their decision. It was almost impossible to discern.
It's not just the color, the font/text is weird and grainy or low res

I think the graininess comes from how it’s eight bit themed. Still, not a good decision at all.

When you get a play to win in Gruul colors... all deals are off lol experienced this too many times hahaha
They say sometimes the turns take way longer than you see on camera and sometimes they have to rewind turns or order stuff differently so sometimes they forget deals

At 22:10, Kolvori was a 6/6 with vigilance. Josh would have a blocker for Becca's turn after and survived.

I thought the correct play pattern with Giada is to never block and just keep accumulating bigger and bigger angels until noone can swing into you.
It is. I don’t think Jimmy valued the counters giada gives enough in this game. He waited super long to cast her and didn’t even get to use her pump effect once. My buddy has a giada deck and if she sticks around the angels start to get huge fast
Josh could have blocked though, his Kolvori would have had vigilance due to having three legendary creatures.
The prof would explode if he had to play this game.

Card kingdom, ultra pro and patron. Yes we know about then each episode it doesn’t need to be 4 minutes long.
It used to be a minute long ad before we got into the actual content.
Not only that, TH-cam ads very often throughout the video. Plus ads as you’re scrolling and ads inbetween shorts. Ads every where. It would be nice if the ads at the beginning of the video didn’t take so long

the deal was worded so that the banner survives and in return she wouldn't attack jimmy next turn at all, not just excluding the mauler, and then this... i know extra turns is more competetive but what in the ... was that oO
That was a mistake, probably more time passed between the deal and the attack wich we didn't see.
We can be pretty sure it's an honest mistake where both forgot because Jimmy also didn't bring it up.
I can forgive it because it was a swing to total table lethal.she had the pathtovictory and shot her shot
@trizkit995 it's been interesting to see a mix of people finding it acceptable to break the deal if it means winning the game. For me, it just becomes that person can't be trusted for any more deals in the future. With all that, though, it seems they all forgot from the time between shots.
@@BehmtasticWouldn’t it just mean the person can’t be trusted if lethal is possible? Why extend that suspicion to preclude any deal at all?
@@jacobd1984 because if they draw into something that can make them win they will just break the deal. even if they are only in that position because the person they made a deal with honored their part of the deal.
I knew which deck was gonna win this one the second I saw the theme, lol. That deck is crazy good.
It also helps that everybody was ganging up on the flip deck and leaving catdogs to just do its own thing most of the game.
16:17 was a missed opportunity, since you can stack The sliver's ability effectively infinite times. Imagine drawing all the cards you want with Zndrsplt all because of 3 mana.
This isn't Frenetic Efreet - the Sliver has to be on the battlefield when the ability resolves in order to flip (and after the first activation resolves, either it's exiled or in the graveyard, so the other activations wouldn't do anything).
0: *If this permanent is on the battlefield,* flip a coin. If you win the flip, exile this...
Jimmy letting Josh and Olivia die without actively having a board whip in his hand was a huge mistake, there’s no way he was going to stop Becca’s value engine with the little amount he had on his board.
Not gonna lie, it felt like a “fun” play rather than a “good” play. But it sped the game up while being a funny move - there was little chance of stopping Becca anyways by that point, even with 2 more opponents
If Josh’s boardwipe would have gone through this whole game could have been different.
Becca is so crazy about wining, she immediately broke the deal she made with Jimmy at 23:00 Jimmy did kind of violate the spirit of the deal, but not the actual wording..

@@trollingsoul3386 but would she have had lethal without the banner? Also think Jimmy griefed by not removing jetmir. His greed to think he could win a 1v1 with no board instead of a 3v1 was crazy to see.
Seeing a deal broken like this does take away from the rest of the game, not gonna lie. Episode was a fun concept though!
I don’t think Jimmy or JLK deck’s had a chance to really to show what they could do. I’d like to see this played again.
Unironically play the coin flip deck at my LGS, as is (unmodified). Can't wait to see how well it does here. I was already running a mono-white angel deck with Giada right before they announced the angel deck so I saw no need to get it.

21:40 I love how loud Jimmy was initially on the casting of Ondu Inversion, he was the least affected and than he was even louder when it was Negated ROFL, he had the most to gain.
Although questionable on Olivia Negating the boardwipe when looking at the board, from experiences against the flip deck, it was the right call since Olivia basically had the flip engine on and a boardwipe against that deck is very vulnerable to boardwipes, she probably just needed one more turn BUT if she didn't it was a bad call LOL :P
Raining cats and dogs is honestly one of my favorite decks to play (other than maybe all the instances of +1/+0). But I'm really glad I picked it up
What did jimmy do to that deck? All you have to do us play giada as soon as possible then a bunch of angels
Actually the face commander of the Angel deck was not Giada, but it was the vastly superior one.

Technically Becca broke her deal. She wasn’t supposed to send the Taurian Mauler at Jimmy. And yet she did anyway.

Fun Fact about the coin that came with the deck, it is technically not a legal coin cause it is weighted. Should not matter in most cases but did find it weird they did not check for them when they originally made the coin for the lair
Doesn't really matter. People who play this deck always influence the flip anyway. Some guy I played against got like 8 flips in a row pretty consistently

One bit of feedback for the editors: please can the buffed PT on cards be made easier to read? I don't know if it's the pixelated font or the colour choice but even in 1080p and theater mode I was struggling to read it. 👍
My first and only experience with playing against these Precons was ridiculous. My partner and I were at my LGS and this older guy (~45) playing the angels and his younger kid (~13) playing the coins asked to play with us. We asked what kind of decks they would play and they said “just some precons. Nothing crazy.” They pulled out these decks and we were okay with them at first. Turn one, the dad plays a sol ring, arcane signet and the kid says “How do you always get those on your first turn?!” “I guess I’m just lucky!” This man kept “um actually-ing” us the whole game and telling my partner how they should upgrade their deck while the kid was annoying my partner by begging not to be attacked but also being so brutal to attack them. Needless to say, we wiped the kid first, dad killed my partner (while he had over 100 life and so many fliers), and I killed the dad with my lotr elves upgraded Precon. Now we avoid that family like the plague!
Now i know why Jimmy is so Familiar. He sang the full version of the Bacon pancake song back then! I just watched that video again. 🤣🤣🤣

Fun episode! Too bad all of these decks are not accessible under $300 if that, you can recreate them for less but not in the art. The Dog/Cat sol ring is $50 lol

The best thing to do is build the cheaper version of the deck and save up for the fancy art (hint: the lands are under 5 each so they are the easiest to get first)
MPC is the way to go for those honestly. Same card, but the art you love.

Jimmy played the mono-white angel deck and cast 4 angels the entire game (2 of them his commander). I have no idea what else he had in hand, but having played mono-white angels many, many times myself (including that deck), I'm baffled.
That was the quickest commander game I’ve ever seen 😂
The Taurean Mauler would have the same ability as the Frenetic sliver. It says "All slivers" and the mauler counts as all creatures.
Ah yes, I would love to play with a Secret Lair shown in this episode. Unfortunately because of certain wizards it's sold out.

Built the coin flip deck the week before this one was spoiled mine is very similar but just as much fun
I also have the coin flip deck but its not the partners, its Yusri instead, every now and then i get Omniscience o winning flips.

Question about the heads I win tails you lose deck. Each of the partner commanders has a triggered ability of flipping until you lose. Meaning if you lose, someone else wins, which would trigger the other abilities such as drawing a card yes? You have someone else call it while you flip and then reveal the result, having of course a 51/49 heads to tails ratio. It never ends with nothing happening as someone, even if it isn't you, will have won the flip. So she would draw a card... am I missing something?

Does anyone know why in 21:15 why Jimmy blocked Kolvori instead of Kinnan or the Beast Whisperer? His Giada would have at least survived and taken out one of Josh's creatures.

I thought that through out the years of playing, you should know, that Becca’s board state was huuuge problem for all of you and Josh was really aware of that, so he was willing to sacrifice all of his creatures to save your’s asses😅🙏 from my perspective, that was little bit rookie move🤔

Usually regularly bullies others during her games by being extremely aggressive and using demeaning language. She is terrible at the game, will point fingers at others constantly and whenever you remove anything on her board she acts up. She's easily one the worst Magic-tubers despite how she portrays herself regularly. Like, i used to love watching her content, but her passive-aggressiveness regarding the Sol Ring debacle and the way she acts has completely ruined my image of her. But I'm probably just a "hater".

Anyways, the reason she negated the spell wasn’t anything to do with playing like a rookie, but moreso because she also had a very good board and some of her best cards on the table, it would’ve been as stupid not to counter it as it would have been to counter it
@@babaXIII that just adds some spice to the game. If everyone just did the obvious good move all the time, it'd be pretty boring and no different than playing against bots. Finger pointing is part of the game, convincing others someone else is more of a problem.

At 16:21 Olivia could have infinitely flipped coins with the Frenetic Sliver as she could activate the ability as many times as she wants before it resolves.
No it only flips when the frenetic sliver is on the battlefield when the ability goes to resolve. After the first time it resolves it will either be in the graveyard or exile, therefore all the other abilities on the stack won't flip a coin when they resolve.
I feel like there have been a lot more than 4 secret lair decks 😂
7:34 I can think of other greats who have used their tongue to gain power. Becca is just the Michael Jordan of MTG.
I'd love to see Josh utilize maskwopd nexus & rooftop storm in a deck. The amount of draw that man loves would pair well with casting all your creature spells for 0 mana.

Man that Angel deck needs more angels haha. I know the struggle with that deck. Alot of energy goes into getting the deck to function (ramp, draw, removal) that there's often too few angels on the board.

On the min 20, Olivia already has infinite mana with treasures and infinite card draw just activating the sliver continuously maintaining priority right?
No, the sliver checks if it's on the battlefield before it flips every time and you put it in the grave if you lose the flip or exile it it you win.
So you can activate it 400 times if you want, but only the first one will actually do anything.
In my advise Giada as commander is a fast easy choose but not the better.

It's not that amazing, you can probably build a better one than the precon pretty easily.
@@justaperson5092 True but I really like the theme. I'd also use the face Commander and see if I can add some stuff to get both out together more frequently. There must be something to make that happen right. After beeing away from MtG for a very long time I really lack knowledge about many many cards. I think with Angels and Dinos both it's more like wanting it for the flair rather because it was so powerful, though. ^^
@@muhamadkhairulfaiziwahab I don't even want her as my Commander to be honest. Many people do that but she will always be one of the - or even THE - primary target for all hate at the table. Having her as a living mana rock is always nice but yea... For me the Commander duo is the main reason why I want this deck, flair-wise. I mean I'd have to upgrade it here and there anyways. There must be something to get both of them out together more frequently right. You're right about Avacyn. Luckily I still have her and some other amazing Angels from back in the days. Probably I will build the deck myself and find out about useful improvements and replacements on the way. :)

Idk if it actually happened this way but the thumb deck seems like a case where the mulligan rule can be abused since that card changes that deck so much. Not usually a problem though I’m sure.

Jimmy only saving himself surprised me (I was convinced he had a wrath for it), but thinking more it was the safer bet, he just wasn't in an overall good position either way.
It does make for a memorable moment, though.
I only have a question about the sliver: can you stack multiple activations of the ability? The last one will be the one to determine it's fate, I just wonder if you can still use the others on the stack to flip more coins.
I like to have the color of the commander I'm flipping for determine the winning side. Feels more thematic that way
Loved the energy of this episode. Did not expect Becca's power turn! Really need to break that deck out sometime and ACTUALLY play it. 😄
