Living alone in NYC during winter, & during a Pandemic is very lonely & draining. On top of that she constantly faced anti-blackness in the Modeling & Legal Industries. She seemed to have been living her life to make everyone else happy, & constantly lived under the pressure to be perfect because everyone loved her perfection, & everyone always expected her to keep doing more & more. She seemed to pursue Law to please her Dad, & Modeling to please her Mom. However internet bullies, & racists shamed her for being “short”, “old”, “too muscular”, “too black” & “benefiting from affirmative action”.
She never got to live her life for herself. As a child she started living her life for her parents, she had to live up to the White Beauty standard, she had to be a Champion for Black People, she had to be a lawyer/mba, then she had to be society’s “Hollywood feel good influencer”, & criminal justice hero.
In one Ear she had her “supporters” setting their expectations of her to always be a perfect, perky, superwoman.
In the other Ear her critics made her feel inadequate & unqualified in all of her achievements.
She was trapped between 30 years of Expectations to be Perfect & 30 years of Cruel Criticism.
She lived under a microscope for 30 years, being judged & pressured in every aspect of her existence by a selfish society driven by vanity.
Parents & society need to stop living vicariously through children & celebrities. No one owes their life to anyone else.
I’m sorry she suffered, I’m sorry she didn’t have mental freedom, I’m sorry this world drained her amazing light.

She DEFINITELY earned that win, as she NAILED the final question. I'm so happy for her and the state of NC. I would have loved for Miss New Mexico to win to disappoint a lot of people who hate Mexicans, but NC reigned supreme on the final round. What edged NC over NM was her intelligence, not to say NM isn't intelligent. All of the competitors are intelligent or they wouldn't be on that stage. It still tickles me that people get upset that the person they want to win didn't. It takes more than a pretty face to win pageants, they're looking for brains too!
This Mikimoto Crown should be renamed The Cheslie Kryst Crown. She was the last one to wear it before Asya was crowned with the new one. I'm pretty convinced whenever this crown makes a comeback, the first person we're all going to think of is Cheslie.

@@mundopizz I agree but NM has proven and given enough of her intellectual capabilities in all the interviews. She is not dummy by any means. She has a master's degree as she said. Plus, this is still a beauty pageant after all not a scholastic or intellectual contest. The overall performance and total package goes to NM. NC will just be trampled upon by the likes of the Venezuelans, Colombians, Puerto Ricans, Dominicans or the Latinas as well as the Thais, Indonesians, Indians, Filipinos. NC's look is not that striking..... NM has the IT factor if you know what I mean. You can't take your eyes off of her. The camera loves her. I still can't believe it... So, disappointing for the USA to loose another MU crown....
King Tut NM was my front runner. I understand your disappointment, however the term of beauty in Miss Universe organization has changed. Physical appearance is probably the last to be considered, since everyone in the world could change or manage their physical beauty by surgery and make up. Brain, behavior, and articulation is the present main standard of beauty.
In this final 3 answer I was nervous about NM’s answer, she stumbled a bit and from that moment I knew that NC is the next Miss USA, followed by NM as the 1st runner up and OK as the 2nd RU.
The judges were fair. As much as I want NM to win, I think that NC deserves the crown for her articulation on her entire performance.

The judges were fair indeed and NC or any of the top 10 deserves the crown. I have been a beauty pageant fanatic since childhood. This is a subjective contest. I would have given it to NM, no question and hesitation about it... I actually didn't consider NC to be in the top 10 and Miss Oklahoma, though beautiful is more suitable for fitness pageantry... My opinion.. If this pageant were held somewhere else outside the US in an international pageant, those 2 girls are not in the same level as NM in my honest opinion when they are judged in beauty and brains, poise....

She lived a very exciting and eventful life! She hid everything better than I could ever dream of doing, if I had been dealing with emotions as heavy as she. Cheslie was a very strong woman. Very determined and sure of her intentions. She was very focused and walked in the power of self determination.
I still respect her. I refuse to look or “feel some kind of way” towards her because of her decision to exit the planet like she did. I celebrate her life and the fact that she is now at peace. She accomplished so much in this lifetime! Rest In Peace, the great Cheslie Kryst! ❤️✨

My two favorites from the beginning were in top 2. I’m happy for both of them. I really hope New Mexico won, however her last answer was not as good as North Carolina. This is pretty fair based on the results of the final question. New Mexico is so beautiful, she really made this year’s show so sparkling. I wish her best luck for the future. As you can see interview is very important North Carolina nailed it. New Mexico should have keep her answers short. Also, in the live chats for Miss Teen USA and Miss USA there were outrageous comments about the black contestants like "no afro" or "no more blacks" then I responded with you guys need to stop coming for them because is it bad karma for who you are supporting and it happened in both pageants. Pageants are about uplifting women not tearing them down. I hope you guys especially international pageant fans learned your lesson for Miss Universe 2019 that trolling doesn't accomplish anything.

I knew North Carolina was the winner the second I saw her in the preliminary round. Everyone who is upset should rewatch the premiere and pay close attention to Miss North Carolina, her answers, her presence, and her advocacy was spot on and she was the clear and obvious winner once Top 10 was revealed.
Edit: I’m not bashing New Mexico, it’s just at the end of the day, a winner is to be chosen and in terms of overall ness, NC > NM

This pageant had the most beautiful and gorgeous contestants ever in pageant history" if the chosen winner won't eventually win the Miss Universe crown because no one has ever won Miss Universe with a FRIZZY hair? Not even Miss USA 2017 Kara McCullough, a scientist with a great back story, could swing the judges in her favor and she was such a confidently alluring sight on stage compared to Miss North Carolina/Miss USA 2019 who, for me, lacked projection and pasarela.

I was extremely disappointed that Miss New Mexico was screw up on the final question. Her answer was good, but too personal. She is absolutely beautiful, fun, smart, but too confident about herself which make her acted somewhat arrogant. I wanted her to win so bad, because I wanted her to bring back to New Mexico for a second crowns since 1984. Miss USA 1985 winner should be Miss New Mexico not Miss Texas. That year they did not want New Mexico won back to back. I'm not from New Mexico, but I love New Mexico because it's a beautiful State, friendly people, and great weather. The question asked about her GENERATION. The word generation is for ALL, not for an individualist. Miss Oklahoma also gave a too personal answer about her mixed races. Diversity is not the key word for her generation. She sounded very sweet and seeking for compassionate. When you represent USA, you represent the whole country. Do not use too much personal past experiences or problems that you have. Miss North Carolina won, because she is smart, took time answer the question to the point. That's why she won. Plus, she is a lawyer. Congratulations to you Miss North Carolina. Well done!

I’m not against the new Miss USA I think is a very smart girl and she nailed the questions, same as New Mexico, it was a very close competition but New Mexico had all the potential to be the next Miss Universe, at this point is going to be hard for us to win a Miss Universe crown...and we just lose a really beautiful and smart girl with all the potential to give us that crown.
